My wife Ann and I live in Massachusetts with our two daughters. We love to travel and vacation, though its not always possible with four busy schedules. Our vacation homes in New Hampshire and Maine allow us to get away on a moments notice. We hope our guests will enjoy them as much as we do!
Rich Proto purchased this house in 2007
On our way to see this property for the first time in August 2007, we drove up West Shore Drive past Newfound Lake and were just amazed at the beauty of the lake and surrounding area. We arrived to to see the quintessential New Hampshire cabin with its natural wood siding, beamed ceilings, knotty pine walls, country kitchen, handmade tapestries and quilts, and an artist's touch throughout.
I'd just like to thank you again for the beautiful house rental. We all had so much fun, and even got to know the neighbors next door. Everything in the house was beautiful and the views were spectacular. The river across the street was definitely a bonus. After all the rain on saturday the water was flowing very fast and made some nice rapids throughout.
The house was beautiful and it would definitely be a nice place to go back to.
My whole family enjoyed this beautiful cabin. It had lots of room for everyone, the location was excellent, and everything was clean and well-maintained. Thanks, Rich!
This was a great place to stay, awesome fire pit, great movie selection, beautiful area in NH. Close to town but far away with scenic views. We had 9 guys staying for a weekend away and all the beds were comfortable and it was big enough for everyone to have a good time!
We rented this home for the week of our daughter's wedding. There's plenty of sleeping and kids' playing room in the beautiful loft area, the kitchen and dining room had everything we could've needed. The bathrooms are huge, and having a gathering space with TV and wood stove in the basement was ideal. Washer and dryer are a great addition.
Multiple areas to sit around the outdoor fire pit and on the wrap around deck allow for sunning or stargazing! If there's one thing I'd consider, the loft does not have a bathroom so little ones or elders might not like having to go down a flight of stairs to go to the bathroom in the night.
Thanks to the owner for offering such a lovely home to weary parents of the bride and our family. Everyone loved it!
The house itself was fine, however there are 2 houses with families living within 100 feet of the property, which was not mentioned in the property description. Also the water had an odd odor.
Cabin cannot sleep 13. We had 5 adults and 3 children. TV with 2 uncomfortable futons in basement so people sleeping their had to listen to TV. The only bathrooms were on 1st floor bedroom, and basement so those people were being wakened if you had to use the bathroom in the night. The 3rd floor had all beds very noisy floor and can hear everything from basement up, so we had to run fans. No cabinet space to put your food and when we arrived the grill was not clean from prior people. I gave this a two star, the cabin was clean when we arrived. I think it would be a good place for the most 7 people and get rid of bed on first floor so people can use bathroom maybe put some closet space and maybe a couch on third floor with TV so people can relax. It would be a good place if you want to hike. It is a distance from alot of places. The owner was very nice and also emailed you right back with concerns. Wish there was a barrel for recyclables . Also trash barrells should be on ground level not back of porch. Could have xtra sheet and pillow cases. A little updating would not hurt.
Me and my friends had a great time around the big fire pit with plenty of wood provided for burning. The wrap-around deck was also great for grilling all day and for looking out across the mountain tops. The large dining room table had plenty of room for all of us (10) to eat our meals comfortably. I will for sure consider renting here again.
Newfound Lake, Sculptured Rocks, Mount Cardigan, Tenny Mountain, Bear Mountain, Profile Falls, Paradise Point Nature Center, Laconia is 1/2 hour away.
