Beautiful Villa in stunning surroundings

  • 5 of 5

Our second stay at this beautiful Villa which has it all. Well equipped. A superb pool which is a great size for a family. Stunning scenery, peace and quite. Panicale is a beautiful Umbrian village which has great restaurants and bars should you not want to cook. Highly recommended. We can't wait to go back.

A lovely property - beautifully decorated and furnished, wonderful location and fabulous pool

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed staying in this gorgeous house - it was decorated to a very high standard, good facilities and fabulous views. Two tiny niggles the oven which was huge, difficult to manage and kept going out ! and the absolutely non existent wifi - no one managed to connect with any device for the whole stay - however given how stunning the location is that is probably a blessing. Would definitely go back and would recommend it for couples and families - not sure it would be suitable for small children but for my 4 teenage girls it was perfect. The local village a short walk away is delightful

Owner's Response: Dear Family B. Thank you very much for being our guests and your wonderful review. We are happy to report the oven is fixed and so is the Wifi (we were disconnected by the provider for an alleged payment issue - that is Italian bureaucracy that took a week!). We would love to have you back. With best regards Monique and Roland.

Character property, great interior, good facilities, conveniently located close to small town

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week here with our two teenage children. The property looks fabulous on the outside and has a great pool, well maintained garden, quality loungers and a very nice BBQ area. On the inside it is even better, the property has been fully renovated with quality materials and finishings, and is open and airy, especially as teh main living area is open plan on the 1st floor, so you also get good views. You are getting the best of both worlds here. My chldren were very happy to stay there and enjoyed the pool / BBQ / watched DVD's in the evening, they didn't really want to go anywhere esle! We did venture into Panicale for dinner, the restaurant we went to (Lillo Tatini) had high quality food. Panicale is literally a 2 minute drive away, you could walk, but it was too hot for that! The property managers were helpful, friendly and available for any questions / suggestions / help / places to go / best supermarkets to use etc. We headed off to Cortona one afternoon, which is quite close and well worth a visit, and caught the train on another 'overcast' day, for a day trip to Florence. Happy to recommend this as a good place to stay, I would happily go back and just chill out. Just be aware that the access road from the main road is very bumpy, care with sports cars! The drive access to the property is fine. Positive experience and happy to recommend this property.

Panicale Perfection

  • 4 of 5

Great villa with pool, but you have to be quite fit to be able to walk uphill to the town of Panicale as it is up a somewhat steep gravel road. The villa was well laid out out with a nicely landscaped garden. The house itself was a bit lacking in amenities such as spices and glassware.

Our favorite restaurant was Il Casale near Paciano( we ate lunch there twice).

Owner's Response: Dear David, Thanks very much for the feedback. Unfortunately glassware gets broken during holidays and it does not get counted after each stay. We therefore encourage guests to note anything they miss or would like immediately, so that we can rectify things during their stay. There are plenty of spare glasses in our storage. We will also buy some more spices, and we do offer for our guests an arrival grocery service. Thank you for being our guest and we love to see you again. Best regards, Monique

Perfect vacation in Umbria!

  • 5 of 5

This is the most beautiful house imaginable, and we were so happy there! The house itself is a recently remodeled stone farm house, with lovely furnishings and an enchanting garden surrounded by olive trees. It is completely private, no other neighbors or buildings in sight. You feel that you are in your own private paradise. The kitchen is quite large and fun to hang out in, and also complete with not only pots, pans, and a range of gadget and utensils, but also outfitted with handsome china and glassware. The living areas are spacious and welcoming, the beds are comfy, the windows look out on glorious views of the countryside. The house is down a very bumpy dirt road, and one evening we had to stop for a small flock of sheep to cross over, lovely! You can walk to the charming town of Panicle, where there are several restaurants and bars, in about 15 minutes. It is also a central location for day trips to beautiful Umbrian towns, such as Perugia, Orvieto, Gubbio, Montefalco, etc. The train station at Lake Trasimeno is less than 15 minutes away. We hope to return soon, perhaps during the summer when we can make use of the gorgeous pool and outdoor dining/grill area. I would suggest that it is not the best house for small children, as the living room furniture is pure white!

Owner's Response: Many thanks Claire for your wonderful review. We love it if our guests have had a memorable stay and we always welcome feedback for improvement. As the property is recently done up, the road was not yet finished and although its just a short dirt road, indeed we'll get that done together with building an entrance gate. We would love to see you back for a summer experience! For future guests: don't worry too much for the white furniture with little kids, we dry clean the covers and have plenty of spare ones!

Absolutely glorious two weeks.

  • 5 of 5

We were met by Graham who showed us around. The villa is perfect with brand new fittings - all modern and very comfortable. The decoration is minimalist and the colours in the living room are lovely neutrals. The kitchen is very well appointed with a state of the art oven with a wonderful big work space.

All the windows have screens on them and the shutters work perfectly.

The bedrooms are nicely appointed with good strong bulbs in the lamps and bathrooms (all ensuite) are modern and attractive.

The pool is a good size - not small at all with a very nice surrounding with the most comfortable loungers we have ever known. The early morning swims with the stunning views were divine.

The bar b q area is again, very attractively equipped with a cover over the dining area comprised of a super teak table and chairs.

Being near Panicale is just brilliant and each night we went up to the Piazza for a drink in the little bar opposite the Gelateria. We had dinner in Panicale twice and did some shopping as well. The little town is a bonus to be near with charming people and a lot on offer.

We went out to Cortona, Assisi, Montepulciano, Montalcini, Citte del Pieve and Lake Trasimeno (there is a restaurant, The Monna Lisa, in the main square which we went to twice!

We could not have asked for a better, more charming 2weeks with our friends who would have written the same accolade.

Again the views from the villa are stunning. We were only sorry that the Pomegranates were not ripe; however, the plums were!

We loved it all.

Well done Graham and Johanna - the caretakers - who looked after us so well.

Thank you Roland and Monique

PS: the restaurant - Masolino - in Panicale, was not a success when we went. We waited a full 45 minutes for our meal. Maybe it was an off night. Lillo Tatini in Panicale was better and quicker and the meal was brilliant.
