|Property type||chateau / country house|
|Minimum Stay||5 nights|
Single story converted coach house style building. Attached to the main family home with own private garden and parking area. 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin. Two modern bathrooms one with bath and one with shower. Oil fired central heating and gas cooking hob.
This property is well laid out and beautifully presented... The building is an interesting creation following the classical farm dwellings of the turn of eighteenth century architecture. Built as in this period, in stages as the farm developed in prosperity. Generously wooded this is a quiet rural location, 6 minutes drive from the M1 motorway.
The garden for The Coach House is west facing and completely enclosed. The patio is perfectly situated for the afternoon and evening sun.
Family home with ponies, dogs and farm cats.
Clem & Jayne FitzGerald purchased this chateau / country house in 2006
Location, location , location well this is why we live here. It's an amazing central location for pleasure or business, 30 minutes from the main Airports and Ferry Terminals. Six minutes from the M1 and fast access to all the main road networks South to Newry/Dublin 1.5 hrs, West to Dunganon/Enniskilen 1.5 hours, East to Lisburn/Belfast 0.5 hrs and North to Ballymena/Coleraine 1.5 hrs.
The location is in a wooded area very close to significant sports amenities.The Coach House is quite enough to relax and close enough for work and play. Great all round location.
The 3 arched entrances which are now the guest bedrooms, the rambling main house and simple tree lined grounds give a relaxing informal feeling in keeping with country living. The frog pond (fenced) is a children's dream away from the play station and xbox.
Every detail has been considered by our hosts and we had a super base to work from. Don't think I would book a hotel again when there are great places like The Coach House available. A car is necessary although everything you need is only a few minutes away. The Coach House is in the country side and there is even a very good fitness centre only 4 minutes down the road at the local country club. Moira offers a great range of food options, from delis, pub food, award winning butchers, cafes and takeaways to fine dining at an award winning, Michelin listed restaurant.
We had to travel to Northern Ireland for a family christening and decided to make a bit more of our visit. We chose this charming Coach House property owned and run by Clem and Jayne purely at random. It was located centrally for us and was an excellent find.This beautiful property was just first rate. Set in a very rural area near the picturesque town of Moira, the property had everything that 3 adults could wish for. Clem and Jayne were charming hosts and made us feel very welcome and at home. We got the impression that no request by us would be a problem. The property is very comfortable indeed and in fact the photos on the website perhaps do not do it justice, particularly we felt, with the sitting room/kitchen area, which is really quite spacious! The close proximity to the M1 motorway and the little railway station in Moira (for a trip into Central Belfast) meant that we were able to travel about the area quite easily. We may well be back in that part of Northern Ireland again and if so we will certainly check out the availability of this property. We would recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet and comfortable place for a stay in this part of Northern Ireland.
If you are looking for a lovely place to stay in Northern Ireland then this has got to be one of the best.
Spacious, well equipped and very comfortable.
The hosts Clem and Jayne were very welcoming with two lovely boys Calum and Robert, not forgetting Spider the Schnauzer who looked forward to a walk in the morning with our dog down quiet country lanes.
We had a lovely holiday, very quiet and relaxing listening to the birds singing in the garden.
A good base to tour Northern Ireland not far from the M1 and only 22 miles to Belfast.
Thank You Clem and Jayne for a lovely holiday, your property is beautiful and we would not hesitate to come back again.

A lovely property to stay - Clem & Jayne were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The house is very well equipped and in an idea position to explore the area.
Would definitely recommend this property.
We were very pleased with the location. There was extensive grounds with plenty of animals which pleased us. The owner left us some local produce which was a nice surprise. Everything was clean and tidy. It was very peaceful and would have liked to stay longer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming cottage. Clem and Jane were wonderful hosts -- making us feel welcome at every turn, were especially responsive if something didn't work properly (or we didn't understand how to make it work!) and offered plenty of recommendations for area restaurants and scenic drives. We came to do some family research in the area and couldn't have asked for a better location to hub out of. We would most definitely return here.
The 'Coach House' is situated in the most fantastic location to tour Ulster in a series of day trips. You are never more than 1.5 hours from all the main attractions. Locally a few minutes from The 'Coach House' the area supports two historical villages, Moira & Hillsborough. Moira has won many awards for best kept village and is popular with local shoppers. Hillsborough is the official residence for the Head of State, has a castle and attracts people from far and wide to the restaurants and boutique retailers. Hillsborough is host to the hugely attended Oyster festival in September each year. Lough Neagh is the largest fresh water lake in in Ireland and Britian, nature walks start only one junction down the motorway from The 'Coach House'.
If you follow Game of Thrones we can direct you to all the film locations in Ulster.
