The location is ideal for summer or winter. (Okemo 2 miles away Buttermilk Falls, golf etc 3 miles)
The quintessentially Vermont town of Ludlow (about 4 miles) offers great local shops, a fully-stocked supermarket, drugstore, hardware store, bike shop, wine shops and fantastic restaurants.

The beautiful and historic town of Woodstock is a short 25 mile drive, and you can stop at the brewery and get a sampler of the different word famous Long Trail ales and maybe enjoy lunch or dinner there right next to at a murmuring brook. . The renowned Weston Playhouse Theater is even closer at just 10 miles. Weston is worth a visit by itself.

Winter - It's virtually impossible to beat this home and this location for great winter activity and relaxation. From the winter wonderland that the lake and surrounding area becomes, to some of the most amazing skiing in all of Vermont, you'll find it all close by. Okemo's newest lodge, Jackson Gore, is just 2 miles away and connects with other Okemo lodges via a network of 121 trails & glades, 667 acres of terrain and a vertical drop of 2,200 feet ... the most in southern Vermont. Okemo is reliable to always have fantastic grooming and is known for “the best in family fun”. If you are an extreme skier and need a challenge go to nearby Killington.

Many of the local mountains offer scenic rides, exciting activities for children and teenagers, and mountain biking.

Great House, Great Location!
This house was a perfect find for our trip to Okemo. Just a couple minute drive into the town of Ludlow and to Okemo bases. It was nice to be able to come back to the house after being at Okemo all day, shower, and drive right back to town to eat dinner and stop in the ski shops. Also, stop at the Green Mountain Sugar House for maple creamies, which is less than a minute away. The home is cozy and clean, stocked with everything you need, but might sometimes forget to bring with you. The views of the lake are beautiful, even from just sitting on the couch in the living room looking out the wall of windows. We watched a bald eagle grab its breakfast from the lake and it sat on a tree branch to eat right in front of the house. We want to come back and experience this house in the summer to paddle board on the lake. The host is great, so nice and great communication. Thank you!

Adult Ski Trip
We had a great time staying here for a guy weekend skit trip. The place was perfect for a few dudes and the location to Okemo was perfect. It was also close enough to ski Killington as one of our friends did that one of the days, but It was 5 minute drive to Jackson Gore Parking and 5 minute drive into the town of Ludlow. Would love to come back.

I love skiing, biking, hiking and water sports. I live in Long Island, where I do boating and biking in the summer. I grew up in Germany but have been in the States for many years.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with the quiet spot on the lake, where I can look out on the water.from the dining room, living room, kitchen and even the shower and enjoy the ever changing scenery.

What makes this property unique

The location is great in all season, and the house is very comfortable even when occupied by a lot of people. In the winter period we have had at times 10 people in the house (mostly ski instructors) and yet it works well with the kitchen etc.

Special amenities: Whirl tub, two tables for eating, two refrigerators, 2 coffee makers, deck, dock, backyard large enough to play ball; (don't worry about the ball, you can fish it out of the lake, the shore is shallow). Downstairs play area has ping-pong table, games, chairs, refrigerator and extra bathroom.

WINTER: There are 5 to six parking places next to the house, but in winter conditions, if you do not have a four wheel drive, leave your car in the parking space next to the road on top of the fence as a precaution. We have a local contractor to plow and sand, but conditions change and the little road (Denardis Rd.) that goes down to the lake from Rt. 100 is very steep.

SUMMER: We put in a modern dock for launching the boats and recently added a boat rack.
Our deck has a beautiful view of the lake, equipped with two benches, outdoor table with umbrella, plenty of chairs, BBQ and electric grill..
There is a fire pit at the lake where you can roast marshmallows in the evening.

If you have an electric car you can charge it in the driveway. We have a convenient outside plug at the house. (Low fee, honor system.)
