Overview

About the property

2 BR, Loft, 2 BA, sleeps 8-10

The name of our cabin says it all 'Anglers Hideaway'. Purchased and managed by two college buddies who have been fly fishing together over fifteen years, this property is the perfect place to get away from it all and do some fishing. Located on the beautiful Hiwassee River in southeastern Tennessee, this cabin is close to all the action. Twenty minutes south and you can be rafting on the Ocoee River. Thirty minutes north you can fish the famous Tellico river in Tellico Plains, TN. Or you can just stay on the Hiwassee River while rafting and fishing! Whatever your daily activities entail, you can rely on one thing; the evening at the cabin will be unforgettable. Enjoy relaxing in a rocking chair on the porch, or plan a cookout using the grill. Inside you will find a full kitchen, laundry room, dining room, large loft area upstairs, and a comfortable living room for relaxing inside. Check out our pictures and come see our Hideaway.

Rafting: We have information on rafting the world class Ocoee River which is only minutes away from the cabin. We also have information on rafting the Hiwassee River which is where the cabin is located. You will find class 5 rapids on the Ocoee while the Hiwassee is a class 2.

Trout Fishing: Fish the Hiwassee River. Several miles of trout fishing, guides are available with the Hiwassee Outfitters. Or fish the Tellico River just minutes up the road in Tellico Plains.

Sight Seeing: Motorcycles are welcome and encouraged to come and enjoy the beautiful scenery around the Cherokee National Forest. There is a winery on Hwy 411 and a many areas for a Sunday drive for the leaves of the fall.

Predictably fantastic

  • 5 of 5

This is our 5th year in a row of using this property for a reunion of high school/college buddies. Everything is always so perfect and enjoyable year after year after year. We are already counting the days until we can visit again. Thanks again to these owners for allowing us to borrow their little slice of heaven.

Charming Cabin for Family Get-Away

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the Anglers Hideaway very much. Not sure we would have found it if we hadn't been to Hiwassee Outfitters before. Our family, of eight (ages 7 to 62) met there for Memorial Day weekend, and opening day of kayaking, on the Hiwassee (2017). We all loved the charm of the cabin. The sound of the stream is so relaxing. No internet / cell service meant we all interacted with each other and participated in activities without interruption. We kayaked, hiked, rode mountain bikes, took a train ride, fished, shared memories / stories, sat around the fire ring and ate smores. We cooked all meals for the weekend. The kitchen was well equipped with the exception of one item - pitcher for sweet tea :). The reason we didn't rate 5 stars is the cabin had a few opportunities such as many light bulbs were out, or flickered, the fridge door has no storage, the master bathroom tub is covered in mold, and the dvd player doesn't work properly. We definitely recommend this cabin.

Great cabin, with all the amenities. Creekside to hear the water, and close walk to the big river. Will be back!

Spectacular

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to stay and is quite the hidden gem. Not only is this a beautiful piece of property but the home really does have everything you need. We were really impressed at how much the kitchen had to offer which is extremely important since you will probably need to cook your meals. This is really away from it all so there are not many food options close by. The babbling creek and fire pit were great! The Angler's Hideaway will make you never want to leave! We can't wait to go back!! A huge thank you to the guys for sharing this great place!!!

Enjoyed our time relaxing and enjoyed the cabin. Catching a few fish is always a bonus. Perfect setting for a getaway weekend with the guys. This is our 3rd or 4th year and we are never disappointed.

Reliance is in the Cherokee National Forest. The area has world class rafting at the Ocoee and world class fly fishing on the Hiwassee River (where cabin is located), and Telico River. There is a winery about twenty minutes away, and a scenic drive on the Cherohala parkway, great for site seeing in the fall and taking motorcycle trips year around. The woods are thick, rivers are wide, and the roads are curvy, just what you're looking for...

Other Activities: Rafting.
