In the heart of Florence, a palace from the 1400s welcomes you in a pedestrian-only zone facing the tower of the famous Palazzo Vecchio. With rooftop views and elevator access, a luminous open concept 1-bedroom apartment offers you 560 square feet of relax. Wi-Fi included of course.
A queen bed, which can be divided into two single beds, is separated by a privacy wall into the main living area. A sofa in the living area pulls out into a comforatble full bed. Enjoy the new kitchen with all the comforts of home (dishwasher, oven, gas range, full size fridge/freezer, microwave), spacious bathroom with shower big enough for two, dining room, livingroom, TV and laundry. Our love for our apartment can be seen in the details: preserved original 1700 frescos on the ceiling, beautiful tile, and other things we leave for you to explore.
The apartment was just what we were looking for and completely lived up to its description and to our expectations. The location was on a charming street, in a building with great views and character. It was terrific from a logistical point of view, too-walking distance to everything we wanted to see and to restaurants and shops. In a striking, older building, with high ceilings and big windows, it was also completely updated, with modern bath and kitchen fixtures and a very comfortable bed. We felt completely at home during our four day stay and kept marveling at how beautiful our apartment was.
Emma was a fantastic host. She was very welcoming, full of information about Florence and also very friendly and responsive. She always replied to emails and texts rapidly. When our flight to Florence was unexpectedly cancelled, she gave us very helpful advice for rebooking our travel plans and was also very flexible, given that we ended up arriving nine hours later than originally planned. .We truly appreciated that she went the extra mile for us.
We can't say enough about how wonderful this apartment is!
The apartment is very well located. You can walk to all the major and minor sites in minutes. If you need an afternoon break, your apartment is a short walk from wherever you are. The apartment is comfortable, exceptionally clean and waking up to the beautiful ceilings is a real pleasure. The pictures don't lie. Everything you need is in the apartment and the supermarket is a short block and a half away. You are surrounded by eateries and gelatorias. Emma is more than the perfect host. Her thoughtfulness shows in lots of little as well as big ways. She even arranged our early morning taxi to the airport. We felt that if we really needed assistance we could call on her. This apartment is a great value. We wouldn't hestitate to stay here if we return to Florence. In fact we would search it out. Emma, thank you for providing this home away from home and being so kind!
We stayed 6 nights at Emma's mid- December and it was the perfect location for all that we wanted to do - literally everything is within walking distance and the neighborhood is terrific. We were armed with a list of great restaurants, pizzerias, cafes, and gelato places provided by a friend that previously lived in Florence - to our delight, the vast majority of them turned out to be within 10 minutes of Emma's flat. Emma was immediately responsive to all inquiries (we had many) and very helpful in making our stay in Florence all we hoped. She organized a taxi pickup upon our departure, made restaurant and sight-seeing suggestions and she provided a "welcome" bottle of wine for us. We've rented a number of flats in a variety of locations and Emma was the most interactive host we've ever dealt with. The flat itself is great - comfy bed; sleek and fully equipped kitchen; continuous hot water and a washing machine. The original ceiling murals are gorgeous and a nice Italian Renaissance touch to the contemporary design. Do bring your personal bath amenities.
The info says the flat is on the second floor, but it is actually higher than that, which we purposely chose both for the view and some relief from city noise. The flat is on a very active and lively street, which makes it fun, but as others have mentioned...it can be quite loud late into the night and early morning. It's not just people on the street, but street cleaning machines, garbage collection and disposal. Quality ear plugs can be helpful. Despite that, we wouldn't hesitate booking this flat again.
Would recommend to family and friends.
We couldn't have been happier with the apartment if your goal is to explore Florence on foot.
We were two short blocks from the Ufizzi, and one of the most beautiful piazzas in Florence.
There is a grocery store across the street, restaurants and fun pubs. We walked everywhere!
The owners were very available for us, and the apartment has been beautifully restored with gorgeous frescos on the ceiling.
We stayed at Emma's apartment for 3 nights in September of 2015. The apartment is comfortable and the ceiling paintings are something admire. We experience some hot weather but the air conditioning, a fan near the bed and another in the kitchen kept the apartment comfortable. We were also greeted with a bottle of wine and some suggestions for good restaurants nearby. Emma also provided a map of Venice. As a landlord, Emma was always available before our arrival to answer questions and also during our stay. We highly recommend this place for exploring the city center of Florence. This apartment is in very close proximity to all of the major sights. The unit is on the 2nd floor but a lift is available. There are some great coffee shops and breakfast places on the same street within a 2-5 minute walk. The local crowd is the young mostly young adults and can be a little noisy between 18:00 and 23:00 but it quieted down and we had no trouble sleeping. I will certainly consider staying here again the next time I find myself in Firenze! Thanks Emma!
I stayed at Emma's apartment from July 31 until August 3, 2015. What a great apartment! The apartment is comfortable and the ceiling paintings are something admire. I particularly enjoyed leaning out of the window and gazing at the Palazzo Vecchio's tower when it was lit up at night time. It was very hot during out stay in Florence, but Emma provided air conditioning and a fan near the bed and that kept us very comfortable. We were also greeted with a bottle of wine and some suggestions for good restaurants nearby (All'Antico Vinaio is highly recommended and located just a few feet from the apartment). As a landlord, Emma was very patient and accommodating - couldn't have asked for anything more! I highly recommend this place for exploring the city center of Florence. This apartment is in very close proximity to all of the major sights. It is about 75 steps or so to the apartment, which can leave you a little winded, but there is a lift available if you desire so the stairs were never a problem. I will certainly consider staying here again the next time I find myself in Firenze! Thanks Emma!
