A magnificent villa overlooking the gorgeous sea side town of Getaria

Every few years, my best friends and I get together to celebrate our joint birthdays. This year we decided to celebrate in the wonderful Basque Country. Between us there were 8 adults and 4 tweeners who enjoyed the beautiful Villa Embil perched overlooking the twon of Getaria. The Villa was well equipped with everything we could possibly need and it was delightful to learn about the history of the Villa from the owner Miguel on arrival. We had our very own vegetable garden to pick fresh produce from. We organised our last night in together with a local chef who came and prepared some local delicacies. It's a short walk into town to enjoy some fine Pintxos and a drink. The view from atop 'mouse mountain' is spectacular and the coastal walk to neighbouring beachside town of Zarautz is well worth it. 10/10 and would stay there again.

Amazing family holiday and picturesque location!

Villa Embil lived up to our expectations of a perfect property, with all little considerations taken into account. From toiletries in the bathrooms, to perfect renovations respecting the Villa's history, and a beautifully decked out kitchen - we couldn't say more! We had 4 adults and 5 kids, so plenty of space across the house. Miguel was wonderful, being flexible in our check in (although the entry was a little difficult to find!) and providing us with many hints and tips for our stay, in Getaria, San Sebastian and also Pamplona. We definitely recommend having Miguel's friends, Monxto and his wife, come and host a typical Basque dinner at the house - the highlight of our holiday. Thanks again Miguel!

Amazing stay!

We loved staying here! Our whole group had a wonderful time. Many listings aren't quite as nice as the pictures, but Villa Embil is even nicer than the beautiful pictures! It's spacious, plenty of bathrooms, big bedrooms, great kitchen, and the views are spectacular. We would come back anytime.

A Beautiful Villa in a Great Location

We are two families with grown up children; we have been away together several times in recent years and we all agreed this was the best villa yet. Everything was excellent! The photographs don't do the villa justice. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds more comfortable than what we have at home and the location was perfect! We are already planning our return trip!

This is our second home, and because of its size, our entire family fits in it.

During summer, we enjoy the terraces, the ocean view, the continuous flow of yachts and sailing boats, or we take care of the gardens and our small ecological orchard.

During winter, we enjoy the cosy environment provided by the fireplace in our living room, while we look at the power of the ocean waves through the large windows or relax with one of the many books from our library.

It offers a relaxing environment.
