Mexico City's historic center was built in the 16th century by the Spanish on the ruins of Tenochtitlan, the old Aztec capital, needless to say, Mexico City is now one of the world's largest and populated cities. By staying in the Historic Center, you will have the opportunity fully enjoy the contrasts of this city. There are many places located in the Historic Center and within 10-minute walking distance from the apartment. I can highly recommend the following:
Plaza de Santo Domingo
Zocalo (main plaza)
Palace of Fine Arts (Palacio de Bellas Artes)
Madero Street (Calle Francisco I. Madero)
Teatro de la Ciudad de Mexico
Museo Nacional de Arte (MUNAL)
Museo del telegrafo
Museo Templo Mayor
Museo de Arquitectura del Palacio de Bellas Artes
Fondo Cultural Banamex
Museo de Memoria y Tolerancia
Cafe Cielito Querido
Restaurante El Mayor
El Cafe de Tacuba
El pata negra
Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico (weekend brunch)
UBER is always a great option but there are many ways to get around Mexico City, specially in the Historic Center. The closest subway station (CDMX metro) is Zocalo station and is located within 5 minutes walking distance from the apartment. At Zocalo plaza you will also find the Turibus and CapitalBus stations.
