Great house, great location for couples or big family. It’s situated steps away from children’s park and short walk to fun restaurants & stores in Southport.
Thanks for staying and being respectful guests. I look forward to one day getting down to Georgia!
A great property in a great neighborhood! The house is exactly as described in the perfect location-easy to walk most places or a short Uber/Lyft ride away. We were a party of 7 and there was plenty of space for us to be together and spacious enough to spread out. Michael, the property owner, was responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!
Thanks Tricia, you guys were fabulous guests and welcome back anytime!
Awesome house, awesome stay!
Property was fantastic! Exactly as described and a wonderful, quaint, quiet neighborhood but lots of great shopping and eateries close by all within walking distance. House was very clean and well supplied and accommodated all of our guests perfectly. Michael was very attentive and checked in several times to make sure we were set with all we needed for our stay. Would highly recommend this house and will definitely return when we return to Chicago!. Thanks for everything!
You guys left my place spotless. Thanks for being fabulous and respectful guests. Come back anytime!
Great stay near Wrigley Field
We were four friends on our 20th annual golf trip, which means we’ve stayed at 20 rentals around the country—in various resorts, big cities, and small towns. This house was second to none.
It’s a four-bedroom home near—but not too near—Wrigley Field. (Wrigley is about a 12-minute walk.) The neighborhood is quite upscale—the place next door was on the market for $2.2 million—and the street is quiet and lined with trees. The house has been recently renovated from top to bottom—literally: ceilings, floors, and everything in between. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern, the furniture is comfortable, and the televisions are first-rate. There’s also a garage if you have a car.
The house is on three levels. The entry level has the living room, kitchen, powder room, and dining room. Upstairs are three bedrooms and two baths; downstairs is one bedroom, one bath, and a game room. Beds are very comfy. There is a generous deck with a nice gas barbecue (Weber, I think).
Michael was terrific to work with. Check-in was a breeze—we were given a code for the front door and we walked right in and made ourselves at home. Check-out, ditto.
Downtown Chicago is about a 12- to 15-minute Uber away, depending on traffic and your destination. (Could be longer during rush hour, but we avoided that.)
Wrigley is an easy walk from the house, and on game days the neighborhood immediately around Wrigley is a happening. I’ve been to a few major league parks, and I’ve NEVER seen anything like it. However, the house itself is far enough away that there is zero spillover from Wrigley.
The only possible problem with the house is if a member of your party has a serious mobility issue with stairs. Otherwise, I recommend without reservation.
Glad the house worked out for the boys and the trip was a success. Please come back anytime!
Very good but one sizable issue
Your Bosworth property is very good but we did have a problem that does need a solution. The house was exactly as advertised and the neighborhood and location were perfect for the needs of our group of eight. I would suggest more wine glasses---there were only three and handrails going down into the basement. But those are minor issues. The lack of hot water in the basement was not minor. I called your Jeff and after two attempts reached him; he seemed to know about the problem, contending that the pipes inside the wall were reversed. There was warm water in the basement sink but NOT in the shower. That should never have happened and in fact caused serious issues for the couple staying there. Had I known about this issue we probably would have rented elsewhere. As Jeff knew about this issue I'd guess it has been a previous problem...and should have been resolved. In sum, your Bosworth VRBO is close to being excellent once that issue is resolved
Thank you for your feedback.
I see this situation much differently than described in your review. There was nothing functionally wrong with the shower and both the hot and cold water worked. My contractor showed up to the house and showed your group how to use the shower, fully functioning no repairs needed. Later on, you called him again saying you could not figure it out. He politely offered to come back a second time and again show you how to use the shower. You called him "incompetent" and hung up the phone on him. I also attempted to call you, text you, and leave you a note on the VRBO portal. I believe the claims in your review to be false and misrepresents the issue your group had.
Family Weekend visiting Chicago
This was perfect for our two families 5 adults and a baby). There was still an unused bedroom. Kitchen worked out great, although there are eateries and pubs nearby everywhere especially many at nearby Wrigley ballpark area, five short blocks away (like ten minutes). Nice family oriented neighborhood. It was quiet, we felt safe and comfortable. Will certainly look this back up in the future. Thank you, Michael.
Thank you! You guys were fabulous, respective guest who are welcome back anytime :)
