About this property

All Season - WATERFRONT home - FAMILY FRIENDLY!

The perfect all season getaway and a great relazing retreat from the hussle of bussle of our busy lives!
Summer and Fall: In the morning, relax and listen to the Loons or watch the Eagles while sipping your coffee on the dock or the large wraparound porch. Kathy's Lake House is an excellent choice for reconnecting with family and friends and having lots of fun doing it! In the afternoon, roast marshmallows just steps from the lake after a day of kayaking and playing in the water. And in the evening, escape from the kiddos as they enjoy movies or games in the downstairs playroom while you watch a quiet movie in the living room.

Winter: A fantastic site for ice fishing and snowmobiling. Warm up by a large outdoor fire pit while you keep an eye on your traps. Snuggle in the warmth of the house every evening with friends and family in the large living room.

This house is very private and a great place to relax and enjoy beautiful lake and forest views, shielded from neighboring homes. It is the perfect house for a group or multiplae families with 150 feet of water frontage on Toddy Pond.

The house sits on a large, private, level yard that runs to a swimmable lake and comes with kayaks for 8, a canoe, a paddleboard, and a paddleboat. Or, you can use the public boat launch (8 miles up the lake) to bring in your own boat and tie it right to the large dock. The dock has a 8 X 12 sitting area with two Adirondack chairs and an umbrella where you can rest, read, or lounge with friends while watching the kids play in the water. The whole family will enjoy swimming, paddling, and playing off the private swim platform or exploring the small island adjacent to the platform.

Dining options:
Entertaining is easy and fun with multiple dining options. Eat outside just off the living room on the wraparound porch - there are gates at both openings for the safety of little ones, a propane barbecue, built-in seating for 8, and two tables and umbrellas for 6 or more. There is also a full bar with seating for four and an umbrella. Or eat down by the water on the 14 x 16 picnic platform with tables and chairs for 12. Or, eat inside in the dining room next to the kitchen, which has seating for ten with room for two at the counter.

Main floor:
You enter the house through a side door that takes you past the laundry room(washer and dryer), half bath, and closet. You are then greeted by the welcoming interior including a fully stocked kitchen, dining room, and living room, with a large L shaped couch, TV, and DVD player. The living room opens onto the wraparound deck with steps to the yard and views of the lake. Continue past the kitchen to the full-sized bathroom with shower/bathtub and a Toto toilet. The hall continues to the master bedroom with a king-sized bed and a sliding glass door that steps onto the deck and another smaller bedroom with a queen-sized bed and blackout blinds.

Downstairs:
The downstairs area is separated from the main floor by stairs and a door for privacy and quiet. With three bedrooms and a living room filled with board and video games, including an Xbox, DVD and TV - it is the ideal place for kids to play without disturbing the adults. French doors off the main room open onto the yard. This downstairs area has three bedrooms. Bedroom #1 is private with a full-sized bed, and three windows with blackout blinds overlooking the lake. Bedroom #2 has a trundle twin bed and no windows. Bedroom #3 is furnished with a twin bed, as well as a full-sized bunk bed with a twin over and again no windows. There is NO bathroom on this level.

Upstairs:
The third floor is accessible by stairs from the main floor living room. It has two large bedrooms each furnished with queen beds (one room has a twin sofa that turns into a bed), a changing table, and a small TV with both VCR and a DVD player. both of the third floor bedrooms have their own private sitting rooms overlooking the lake and a shared bathroom with a shower.

House is only 15 minutes from picturesque Blue Hill with its oceanfront dining and swimming options as well as a lovely grocery store and some amazing shops including a cheese and wine shop and a great little co-op. House is 20 minutes to Bucksport and Fort Knox and only a 50 minute drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

There is enough parking for 6 vehicles and the house comes with internet.

Relaxing spot on the lake!
My extended family and I had the best time at this beautiful lake house on Toddy Pond. It was peaceful and relaxing. Enough room for everyone with a bedroom for all! The deck is amazing overlooking the lake. So much fun to be had on the lake itself. Blue Hill is close by and a great place to visit. Acadia was close enough for some day trips. Owners were super responsive and friendly. The best owners we have had the pleasure of renting from. Thank you for a great week!

Family get together
We loved the quiet location. The house was spacious considering the weather keep us inside a good portion of the time. When we did go out side the roomy yard and beautiful views were great. Loved sitting on the dock and listening to the loons and doing some kayaking.

This is our family camp and is my absolute favorite place to spend time with family and friends. My mother wanted the camp as a place for her grandchildren to enjoy, before her unexpected passing. It will now remain in our family for generations. Our son started college this year and we find ourselves having to rent the camp for a few weeks every year to help pay for his school.

Why they chose this property

It is absolutely peaceful. We are 7 miles from the campground and boat launch so it is quiet. There is a jumping rock less than a mile away. The grass is level all the way to the water which is clean and warm (in the summer). The road is plowed all winter so it is accessible all year. It is truly my escape from reality and into a quiet and lovely space. There are Bald Eagles that nest in tree on the island right off the property and Loons in the lake. There are also no mosquitoes which is delightful and it is close to the ocean.

What makes this property unique

Our camp is close to Acadia (50 min), close to Blue Hill (12 min) with great hiking, an amazing cheese shop, a lovely health food store, and a grocery store as well as some great restaurants. It is a wonderful place to relax and watch the early sunrise or Eagles and listen to Loons.
