About Dagmar Eiriksdottir

We are a family of four and a dog. We keep horses on the fields around the house and enjoy them throughout the year. Our chickens provide fresh eggs and are an endless source of joy as they run or stroll their way around the property.

We are all passionate about the nature of Iceland and enjoy travelling ourselves. For over ten years we have been working in the highlands during summers as hut wardens, welcoming and taking care of hikers from all over the world.

We are happy to welcome you and hope we may make your stay pleasurable.

Dagmar Eiriksdottir purchased this farmhouse in 1998

Why Dagmar Eiriksdottir chose Iceland

Narfakot has everything we long for, the sea, vast horizon, close to Reykjavík yet rural, quiet and privet. It offers the freedom and closeness to nature we want our children to grow up in. We enjoy the intensity of the elements and the beautiful Reykjanes Peninsula.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Here the elements invite you to share a unique experience. While watching ocean tides splash along the coast, you can listen to the calls of the various sea birds. You experience the wonder of the midnight sun while enjoying some of the most beautiful sunsets. On a clear day it is possible to see Snæfellsjökull glacier where in November 1993 people from all over the world gathered to welcome the UFO´S that were expected to land at the foot of this magical volcano. In winter you can indulge your senses watching the Northern Lights dancing in the heavens.

You are surrounded by peaceful countryside in a geothermal area that has unlimited walking and hiking possibilities in an endless variation of hills, mountains, lava streams and lakes, all bordered by the wild Atlantic Ocean where you may even spot whales and seals passing by.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

  • 5 of 5

We only had one night stay on a stop over flight. The loft space was warm and inviting. I thought it seemed even nicer than the photographs. They had oatmeal cookie bars and milk for us on arrival. I wish we could have stayed longer in Iceland and at this darling farm house!

Beautiful guesthouse, very welcoming.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here on our last night in Iceland, coming from the Blue Lagoon and leaving for the airport in the morning. Everything about the stay was wonderful. Dagmar was very friendly and helpful and the property was absolutely beautiful. We walked to the nearby lighthouse, befriended the animals on the property, and enjoyed a sunset over the water.

Best Part Of Our Trip

  • 5 of 5

The farmhouse was our favorite part of our trip. It was beautiful! Rarely does something live up to, or exceed, the pictures online, but this definitely did. Dagmar was an incredible host, as was her dog Krummi! Dagmar and her family have an amazing farm with horses and sheep, and a great view of the ocean and the mountains. We wish we could have spent weeks here! We can't wait to return.

Wonderful ending to a great trip

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful home with the best hostess you could ever hope to encounter. The property is magical. Beach views and a gorgeous lighthouse made it a perfect place for us to end our time in Iceland. Hope to return soon!!

P.S. We had a four and six year old and they were in heaven. Lots of lovely toys upstairs for them to play with and Dagmar (our hostess) played with bubbles for them and due to our food allergies even greeted us with bread they could eat. Lovely experience. Highly recommend.

Gemütliche Zeit im Strandhaus

  • 5 of 5
