Practical location but…
…finishes were cheap as were the mishmash of old furniture and decorations. Not as clean as one might expect given 2 signs to remove your shoes. Spiderwebs under the entrance bench and dirt under the beds. Most definitely overpriced for a one night stay after all the fees and taxes are added, it was double the quoted rate.

Only one issue so overall okay
Clean, great parking, well marked so easy to locate and nice location. We enjoyed coffee around the table in the morning. Only issue is I specified 1 couple and 2 singles ( my mom and sister) but we had only 2 beds made up. Unfortunately property manager lives far enough away that it could not be rectified until the next evening and there was no extra bedding in the house for us to make it up ourselves. I would really recommend this as a one family accommodation due to one bed being smaller than a double and a futon both in the same room. But overall we were okay with as we were all family.

Quaint town
Loved the location. Carleton Place is a quaint town outside of Ottawa, and very close too many other towns to visit during your stay. Excellent location!

PRICED AS SINGLE OCCUPANCY
Beware that this unit is priced for single visitors. If you are a couple, add more than 30% "extra guest" fee. A couple comparing this unit's price to others needs to add an extra 30% each night. This unit would be good value if it was priced as double occupancy like everywhere else. It is overpriced for couples and ridiculous if you are a family of 4. I took issue with this pricing not being mentioned anywhere in the ad and the owner tried to claim it wasn't possible to add this information. But I notice it is possible to include, "On the Mississippi River"? Also note that there are no pictures of the outside of the building. This could be because the front door (and bedroom window) is literally 6' away from an incredibly busy street. If you need silence in order to sleep, you won't find it here. Other than what I've mentioned, the listing is accurate.

Nice place
We stayed here one night on a drive from Toronto to Montreal, and it suited us well. The place is clean and well cared for, right on a corner of downtown for easy walking to restaurants, etc. Communications were timely and excellent.
