Fabulous views and super private and comfy

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed our time there. We each had a beautiful bedroom and bathroom of our own and a lovely living/dining and kitchen area to relax in. It was very spacious and comfortable, I could easily see us bringing more friends and having plenty of space to be comfortable in. The location is wonderful, very quiet and not right in the heart of touristy, hustle and bustle, noisy activities, just a quick zip up/down the hill to get to everything that you need. An OXXO just down the road and fantastic restaurants & bars, a bank, taco truck, the pier and the beach are within 5-10 minutes. Your calves will hate you the first two days but they'll thank you towards the end of your trip! It's easy to walk down but after a night of eating/drinking/dancing/playing, a $5 cab ride home is a safe, inexpensive, really good idea late at night. We traveled in what's considered more of the off season but we still had all the comforts and assistance necessary. It felt very safe and secure, and very comfortable and welcoming at the same time. The pools were amazing, the large pool was wonderful and we pretty much lived in the roof top pool during the day. It was pretty nice to sit up there and overlook everything. The views from the balcony and bedroom and roof top pool were fabulous, a great place to catch the amazing sunsets before going out for the evening. I have always stayed in hotels over the last 20 years in PV and this was my first condo experience. I'll never stay in a hotel again! For essentially the same price, we had all the comforts of home in paradise. Wonderful service in terms of clean towels and made up beds, the safety of a safe for valuables, a full kitchen and fridge, everything and more that you'd have with a hotel but all the privacy and amenities of a furnished home. I was a little freaked out when we got there and I realized we had no a/c because it was in the mid 80's but with the doors and windows open, it's not even necessary, there are wonderful, cooling fresh-air breezes that keep the living areas very comfortable that feel much better than the noise and re-cycled air of an a/c. Our financial transaction was handled very well and we got our deposit back within days of being home. It was an all around fantastic experience filled with comfort, we had a completely stress free, wonderful time. I would definitely stay there again!

No A/C and unbearably hot!!!

  • 2 of 5

I am writing this review in real time. We are currently in puerto Vallarta and just left this condo early.

I want to start this review with the pros:

1. Beautiful ocean views

2. Casita style condo

3. Salt water pool was nice

4. Nice balcony

Cons:

1. No A/C in entire unit. This was known to us prior to booking but other travelers commented that it cooled down at night. It's so hot at night that even with fans on you feel like you are in an oven. The humidity is almost 90% so 89 feels like 99. Unfortunately for us It has not cooled down at night and is also extremly hot in the unit during the day because it faces the sun all day. After two nights of no sleep my family booked a hotel else where with ac. We contacted the owner to let him know we left and his response was that he hasn't installed ac to keep the nightly const down. He was apologetic but offered no solution or reimbursement otherwise.

2. Location is on top of a huge hill and up several steep steps. Not walking distance to the romantic zone or any eateries. The road it's off of is very busy and not recommended for walking on . You can get a taxi to town for 50 pesos each way.

3. No reception: We arrrived at 10 till 10pm and waited for 40 minutes for someone to arrive and give us a key to get in. Our cab driver called the owner several times with no response . We paid that cab driver $20 to wait with us till someone showed. We did notify them in advance that we would be arriving at 10pm and it was confirmed someone would be there to let us in. . We almost left to find hotel after 40 minutes of waiting with our cab driver in the dark. Unfortunately there isn't front desk staff available

after a certain hour.

4. Wifi in the unit didn't work. A neighbor was kind enough to give us there password but it was a very weak signal.

I would not recommend this place to families due to the location and no A/C .

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your experience with us and for your feedback. We are sorry to hear the November weather in Puerto Vallarta was not as pleasant as it typically is during this time of year. Thanks for letting me know ahead of time of the “brutally honest” review you were going to write in lieu of compensation. I would like to go a little further in your review so that future guests formulate a better picture of your experience with us. To clarify, out of your group of four, two people moved out of the condo and two remained at the condo the whole time. The staff commented that the group that left was seen “visiting” the condo often. I think it was great as the condo was reserved for you and everyone else in your group. Half of your group arrived on Saturday night and YOU arrived the following day on Sunday during the day time. The group that checked-in on Saturday night was checked in 10 minutes later than expected as the property manager was late. I’m sorry for the 10 minute delay at check in. Saturday night, Puerto Vallarta was hit by a big storm and that contributed to the delay at check in. We take feedback seriously and we plan on addressing the items that are in our control. We will be installing AC in the summer of 2017, which is the next time the condo association will allow improvements and renovations. We will also be installing our own internet connection and stop using the complex wifi to improve any reception issues. Thank you.

Beautiful Complex, Grounds, and Pool

  • 4 of 5

We recently spent 13 days enjoying the beautiful condo complex, Villas Loma Linda. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The salt water swimming pool is wonderful and refreshing. It was so pleasant compared to chlorine pools. We met some wonderful visitors and residents. The managers, Sylvia and Roberto, were beyond accommodating. Esperanza kept the condo clean and was very helpful in many ways. She is a real sweetheart.

We felt like we got plenty of exercise walking down the hill and into Old Town. We usually took a taxi back to the condo, 50 pesos from anywhere in Old Town, and sometimes we climbed the hill. We are young at heart and not so much in body and endurance, but we made it. We loved it's proximity to restaurants, shops and the Malecon and beach.

The condo needs some TLC. It needs AC, but I knew that when I rented it. The view is spectacular and we loved how we could open it up. Privacy was never an issue and we felt very safe at this complex. The street noise from Hwy 200 was only an issue at night, but because of the fans that we had running constantly, it did not impair sleep. The kitchen has everything one needs and an upgrade to dishes, silverware, pots and pans would make it perfect. The bathrooms are beautiful and that helped to overlook the frayed towels and stained washcloths. Esperanza did a fantastic job and provided us with clean bathroom linens every other day. The safe in the master bedroom was broken, and the safe in the guest bedroom appeared a little too difficult to operate according to the instructions, so we did not use it. Having curtains to allow the breeze to enter the condo and yet give us privacy was lovely except for the one in the dining room that kept falling down. The beds were comfortable because of the foam padding on the king bed and the double bed. Perhaps new mattresses will be in order in the near future. As previously stated, the condo needs some TLC. We loved the complex and will probably return next year.
