About the property

The Wee Hoose: Probably Scotland's Smallest Holiday Home

The Wee Hoose is a one bedroom terraced cottage in a small lane off Calender's Main street and near the central town square. Its a converted workshop and has been refurbished in 2013 to a very high standard, yet retains some original features such as the exposed stone walls in the lounge. The accommodation consists of entrance hall, open plan lounge and kitchen, double bedroom and shower room with WC. There is gas central heating and the heating as well as electricity is included in the rental. The kitchen is fully equipped with full size oven, ceramic hob, washing machine, microwave, toaster and kettle. There is a 24 ' wall mounted TV screen with integrated DVD player in the lounge; free WiFi internet access; the lounge also has a recliner sofa, a fold out dining table and a coffee table. The bedroom has a double bed and build in wardrobe as well as a chest of drawers for storage. Shower room is equipped with an electric shower, a sink and a WC. All bedlinen and towels will be provided.

Please note the property has no garden; however, within a 5 min walk you are at the river Teith which is ideal for strolling along or just having a picnic. There are many beautiful walks around Callander and plenty of things to do. Callander is an ideal base from which to explore the central region of Scotland. Callander is situated within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Both Glasgow and Edinburgh are about an hours drive by car. The city of Stirling in the heart of Scotland is about 30 min away by car.

Please note the Wee Hoose does exactly do what it says on the tin: due to its size its best suited to a couple or single traveller; a travel cot can be provided upon request.

The Wee Hoose has everything you need in the heart of the Trossachs

  • 4 of 5

A comfortable studio apartment located right in the middle of Calander. Parking is off-site but we had no problems finding a space around the corner. It may be a Wee Hoose but it had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The host was excellent, gave clear instructions and made us feel most welcome.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a good stay. We have now done some improvements: the carpets in bedroom and lounge have been replaced by wooden floors and both bedroom and hallway have been painted. The mattress is next on the list! Hope to welcome you back some time in the future! Matt & Annett

Great little place, great location and very clean.

  • 5 of 5

Checked in for two nights for a weekend break with my partner and our dog. The cottage is very cosy and boasts a whole load of equipment to make our stay comfortable! Including a washing machine, cooking utensils and wi-fi.....!! The owner (Matt) was very helpful and provided additional information about the surrounding area and places to take the dog for walks. Would recommend and will definitely be returning!

The wee house

  • 5 of 5

Me and my wise are extremely satisfied with the wee house. The owner provided exhaustive information on the location and instruction on how to get there and how to access the property. The wee house is very well maintained. I would definitely recomment the property to friends and family and would be happy to take advantage of this cozy house again in the future. Callander in it's own is also nice and small town when you can take a break from the every day fast pace environment. Thank you for providing us with the perfect getaway weekend.
