About Carol Weaver
My husband and I are originally from Tucson, Arizona. We wanted a place to escape the intense summer heat and found Chama, NM. We took a big gamble and sold everything in Tucson and moved here permanently in 2015 and have not regretted it once.
Carol Weaver purchased this Studio in 2011
Why Carol Weaver chose Rutheron
It took us three years to find our current home. It wasn't in the best shape but when my husband saw the lakeview he was sold. In 2012 we started our intensive makeover of the property and concluded with Casita La Cueva in 2017. It took over a year to finish a 316 square foot room. We removed about five tons of rock during the process. It was an incredible experience and most visitors have enjoyed their stay.
What makes this Studio unique
The lakeview is why we bought our home. Coming from Arizona we would travel about three hours to a big body of water. Here you can hike to the narrows and fish for trout and salmon. The property is in an ideal location for day trips. The animal life of elk, deer, turkey, bear, Osprey, and eagles is a photo opporturnity. I looked out the kitchen window to see a deer peering in. The following day she was at the front door with her fawn.

Cozy cabin with Lake View
Beautifully appointed cabin with kitchenette, gas fireplace, and private deck overlooking the lake. The space had everything a guest could need including snacks, a Keurig, an Ice Maker, cooking tools, and toiletries. The room has a southwestern, New Mexico, and forrest cabin feel to it. There are some nice hikes or walks to take. We were surprised to see so much wildlife such as deer with fawns and flocks of Turkey's. It was a fun and comfortable stay.
Thank you for your positive response. Summer is a totally different experience. We hope to see you again.
