Why Brooks Helmick chose Stowe
With Mom and Dad having honeymooned in Stowe, we always knew we wanted to come back here. So in 2006, when the whole family rallied once again in Stowe, we were looking this time to return for good, and to find a property with a great view. After two week ends of looking and striking out, we decided to at least wrap up our search with a good Austrian pastry at the Trapp Lodge. As we broke off the Mountain Road and headed up the road to the Trapps we spotted the Stonybrook grounds and the front line of condos. It was immediately clear to us that if we were to buy in Stowe, this was the place to buy, and if at all possible to try to get one of the front line 'Farm Row' units that had the best, and truly breathtaking view of both Mt. Mansfield and Spruce Peak. None were for sale, so we decided to wait it out, and a 18 months later (about three years ago now) we got exactly what we wanted. Not only did we get a front line, Farm Row unit, we got a unit with a view that probably only 4 or 5 of the other Farm Row units have - i.e the ability to sit in either couch in the Living Room, and see the mountain. Then we proceeded to completely renovate the condo with the latest appliances and yet with photos and decor such that in every room we and our visitors would have no question that 'We are in Vermont' The pictures below describe the result. As the saying goes, 'What you see is what you get,' although our guests typically say, 'The real thing is even better.' We welcome you to come and see for yourself, and make your Vermont vacation dream come true.

Perfect spot for ski weekend
Perhaps the best value of any rental we have had for a ski weekend in New England. Everything was spot on. The view is incredible, great location, and everything is as described.
Another Stay in Stowe
We have stayed in this property several times. Always clean and well maintained. Wonderful location for walking and restaurants.
Owner is a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend for a stay in Stowe.
We had a fantastic stay at SB6. The location is fantastic and the unit has everything one could ask for. Amazing organization and utility. I would surely return.
The StoneyBrook Oasis
Stoneybrook is a wonderful place to stay while up in Stowe and Brooks’ home was as nice as it gets. Conveniently located to both town and the mountain our family loves our stay. Brooks was quick in response to all questions and provided us with everything we need and even an apple our to boot! We have two small children and the apartment was kid friendly and convenient for everything a family would need. We can’t wait for our next trip up to stay at Stonrybrook once again!
Stowe in Fall
Overall an excellent experience renting the property, location was excellent - have a fireplace for the cold nights and rainy days was delightful and the house blends charm with all the modern cons you could desire. Highly recommend.
Once again, we enjoyed our fall vacation in beautiful Stowe! The location of this property is breathtaking. We had several relaxing family walks along the recreation trails, good food at local restaurants and discovered an amazing farm property in Shelburne.
Stowe, the 'Ski Capital of the East' is by car, 45 minutes from Burlington International Airport and just over 3 hours from Boston. Stowe is known for its beauty, spectacular skiing, picturesque Vermont living, and a passion by the local townspeople to keep it that way. Whatever first-class recreation you are seeking. From skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, golfing hot-air ballooning, to dining, country shopping, outdoor symphonies at the Von Trapp Family Lodge, or just a walk in the woods, Stowe is the place to be. Locally two first class spas are just minutes away as well as great restaurants, a cinema, museums, art galleries, and a Ben & Jerry's factory.
Ski: Always known for its tough and varied intermediate and expert trails on Mt Mansfield and the wider, afternoon sun trails on Spruce Peak, the entire mountain has and is going an extensive upgrade. New higher capacity snow making trunk lines have been added to the famous National and Nose Dive trails on Mansfield and a multi-million dollar Stowe Mountain revitalization project that will include new high speed lifts, trails and snow making, lodge, 18 hole Bob Cupp designed golf course, fine dining, and a world class spa.
