About this property

MONTCALM air-conditioned in the heart of the Historic Center

Apartment, very recently restored, of type T2 in duplex in a building of the XVII th joint with the private Mansion, the aptly named, "Hôtel de Montcalm".
Located on the 3rd and last floor of the building, it has 6 windows overlooking streets and roofs with visibility on the horizon beyond Montpellier because the building is located on one of the highest points of the Historic Center of Montpellier.
The apartment, over the centuries has been gradually transformed, to make it a particular apartment in the Montpellier Escutcheon with a good marriage of the original stone walls tuned in parts with original stone walls lined with contemporary materials for more reflected light.

It is provided:

- A kitchen open to the dining room. This very well lit kitchen is very well equipped (Triple induction hobs with worktop, dishwasher, washing machine, combi oven, 160 L fridge with 40L freezer ....). It is also equipped with quality dishes.

- A dining room, very well lit, spacious with table equipped with integrated extensions to go from 4 to 6 place settings. This dining room is also provided with a small office space allowing to receive a portable PC which can be connected in Wi-Fi or wired by RJ45 with patch panel.

- A living room, very well lit, separated from the dining room by an archway of width 2.60m and height 2.90m receives a sofa bed (2 adult beds) type RAPIDO, allowing rapid deployment without removal of a any element of the sofa and with a mattress of very suitable thickness and sufficiently firm. This seating area is equipped with a 109 diagonal television. This living room also receives a spacious dressing room with mirrors in feet.

- A mezzanine bedroom accessible by an authentic staircase and stone staircase from the 17th century. This room is equipped with a large 160 by 200 bed with high-end mattress and quality lingerie. This room has full lighting:
           - natural by a roof window equipped with a remote-controlled solar roller shutter and equipped with an internal blackout blind,
          - artificial with ambient lighting, bedside lamp, headboard lighting, individual reading light and decorative lighting for the roof window hopper).

- A high-end bathroom with suspended WC and spacious shower (see photos).
(Note that this 17th century apartment is provided with a ventilation system (VMC) which has nothing to envy to contemporary apartments).

- The original stone staircase of this apartment ends with a very relaxing and very bright "Dovecote" space which overlooks the roofs .

- This apartment is air conditioned by new generation BLUEVOLUTION R32 AIR CONDITIONERS installed by the "Expert Confort Habitat DAIKIN" network.

- The electrical installation of this apartment has been fully brought into line with current NFC 15.100 standards.

CLOSE ENVIRONMENT:

This apartment, located in the heart of the busiest district of Montpellier, is very quiet as suggested by the aptly named adjoining Hôtel de Montcalm.
Around this building and a few strides away, you will find everything you can expect from Montpellier:
- Only pedestrian streets well maintained and cleaned every day including Sunday,
- The most attractive shops in the city center,
- The most famous restaurants of the Historic Center installed either in the pedestrian streets, or on the Place St Roch, the Place St Anne, the Place Jean Jaures indeed the apartment is almost in the center of the 3 places indicated above.
- The well-known Place de la Comédie with its Theater -Opera comedy and its cinema Le Gaumont
- Numerous art galleries, culminating in the Musée Fabre.
- The tourist office.
- The Corum (Palais des Congrés Opera BERLIOZ)

All means of transport are near the apartment:
- COMEDIE tram (5 to 8 minutes),

The beaches of Palavas, Carnon, Le Petit Travers and Le Grand Travers, La Grande Motte are reachable in 30 to 40 minutes by car.
Carnon beach is accessible by Tram + shuttle by line 3 towards Pérols.

The splendid hinterland in autumn and very attractive in summer by the proximity of the Hérault gorges and the Lac du Salagou.

Concert halls;

The Park and suites Arena accessible by Tram line 3 direction Pérols, Parc des Expositions station (30mn).

The Zenit:

Access by public transport (more complicated):
1 hour before the event, a free shuttle will take you from the Odysseum to the Zenith, and will ensure the return at the end of the show.

Outward journey: Before 6.30 p.m., take tram line 1 in front of the SNCF station (or other stations) to ODYSSEUM station, then Tam bus n ° 9 to ZENITH SUD.
OR 1h30 before the start of the show, take the shuttle in front of the Gaumont-Multiplexe cinema at the ODYSSEUM station.

Return: 10 to 15 minutes after the end of the show, take the shuttle in front of the ZENITH SUD, direction ODYSSEUM, then Gare SNCF.

WHAT A GEM!
My husband and I spent 11 nights at this place and only dream of going back! This apartment is conveniently located in the heart of the historic part of Montpellier called l’Écusson. It is surrounded by some of the best restaurants and shopping Montpellier has to offer. Patrick is super communicative and professional. His place is thoughtfully equipped and very modern with an historic character. It is immaculate and quiet up three flights of stairs. Go back in the Medieval time on your visit to Montpellier by staying at this property.

Great location in the charming center of town
We were very happy with our monthlong stay. The host, Patrick, is a great communicator and was both immediately responsive and helpful whenever we reached out to him. The apartment is well-sized for two and has every amenity that you might need — laundry, iron & board, fully equipped kitchen, large screen TV, pullout couch in the living room, good-sized bath, a/c, separate loft bedroom. The location is ideal in the center of town. It was a pleasure to be only a few minutes walking distance from multiple cafés, restaurants, produce & meat markets, parks and shops of all kinds. The vibrancy of the town is just outside your door, which we loved. The apartment is accessible by a set of circular stone stairs that spiral up 5 floors in a great old building. So if you have a problem with stairs and/or lots of heavy luggage, that might be a drawback. But we were delighted with our perch at the top of the building. Very highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My wife and I stayed in May, and enjoyed our use of the apartment. Patrick was very kind and attentive - and extremely patient with our inability to speak French. The apartment was spotless upon arrival, the furnishings and kitchen were more than sufficient and the queen-sized bed in the loft was comfortable. The apartment is very centrally located - an easy walk to anything in the Ecusson and to the tram. Nice restaurants are located right below the apartment and many more a short stroll away. The only negative is that restaurant patrons and other passersby can be noisy at night - if you prefer to sleep early with the windows open, you may find it challenging. The apartment is air conditioned; however, and closing the windows helps reduce, but not eliminate, the street noise. We would happily stay again.

Above & Beyond our Expectations !
The apartment truly is a haven in the heart of Montpellier. Parking is two minute walk away. We arrived later in the evening - Patrick was most understanding and took his time to show us all aspects of the apartment. We are foodies and love to cook where we stay. The apartment has the best equipped kitchen we have ever come across in many stays elsewhere. We even used the very cool ultra modern microwave / convection oven to make chicken Provence one night! The entire place was also much roomier than the pictures are able to indicate. Somebody put a lot of thought into this wonderful renovation! It is authentic yet contemporary and modern. We loved the big windows that look into the surrounding small streets. They are close - but that was quiet nice and part of the charm (no neighbour windows looking direct in either). The bedroom is on separate floor with super comfortable bed and room darkening roll shutter for sklylite. And separate AC unit. We have stayed in Montpellier before and this location was by far much bettter. Walkable to everything! Yet tucked away at corner of two minor streets. We can’t say enough about Patrick. Such a helpful and accommodating host. We were able to communicate very well just using the GoogleTranslate app! Thank you Patrick for being such a wonderful host and providing this great home away from home for travelling guests! Mike and Lixin PS - apology for writing such a long review... we dont normally write any at all. But this home was worth it!
