My 3-night staycation was just what I needed. The cottage was adorable, comfortable, and well-appointed. The sunrise and sunset views along with the songs of the local birds were wonderfully relaxing.
The owner, Michael, graciously met me down the hill so that I could follow him to the location. It's a bit tricky to get to and feels quite remote although it's actually very close to the popular beach at Cane Bay.
The cottage interior is just as pictured. The only thing I wish I'd known about beforehand were the steps. There is a somewhat steep but very sturdy staircase from the parking area to the front door and a very high step from the living room into the bedroom/kitchen. I have arthritis and stairs are tricky for me; however, I found that the inconvenience was worth it in exchange for solitude.
The only other hurdle was the antique mahogany bed. It was too high for me to navigate on my own. Michael offered to purchase a step stool for my stay and, when Home Depot was out of stock, he built a small platform fo me which worked perfectly! This kindness made my stay possible. By the way, there was the option to move to a less secluded cottage which I opted against. I'm very grateful that he was willing to go out of his way to accommodate my disability.
Given the opportunity, I would definitely stay here again.
Rain forest living with a view
Totally enjoyed our time at Estate Belvedere. Location is very private and remote yet a short drive to cane bay beach. Unit was clean with a comfortable bed. Plenty of windows gave a close to 360 degree view. Can see other US and British Virgin Islands. Nice deck space for morning coffe or evening meal. New grill on deck. Would come back for sure.
Estate Belvedere offers an incredible Northshore, mountain experience. If you are a frequent visitor to St. Croix and familiar with the Scenic Road areas, you will love staying here. The location allows quick access to hikes and short drives to Northshore beaches, golf, and eateries.
While the owners are a short distant away, you don't even know they are their. They were very responsive to communication and and delivered on one minor ask (a beach chair).
Highly recommend this stay if you want to be in the mountains.
Lovely, secluded cottage
We had a great stay at Estate Belvedere. Michael was so nice to pick us up at the ferry dock and take us to get our rental car. He was very informative about things to do on the island and how to get around. The cottage was a wonderful place to relax with an amazing view of the North Shore. If you enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle of town, this location is ideal. Great trip!
Our stay was wonderful, but too short. Michael was an excellent host, providing guidance on getting around town, local customs and great recommendations for food and fun.
Michael met us at the airport to show us back to the rental, we are so glad he did! The ride to the property is a bit rugged, but quick. The property is private, and quiet, with beautiful views and vegetation.
It was our first visit to St. Croix, we plan to return and hope to stay here again.
