I moved to the Fenouilledes region of the Pyrenees-Orientales back in September 2005. I live in the small village of Le Vivier which is about an hour from Perpignan. I look after holiday homes for people and rent them out during the summer months if they wish. I bought my apartment in Perpignan because i think its a great place to be. Ideally located for getting around the area but in a quiet location. When you arrive, i will be there to meet you and show you in, answer any questions and be close enough by should you need me, I’m always contactable.

Why Peter Opie chose La Gare
I bought this property because of its location. It is situated in a quiet area so no noise on an evening whilst you`re trying to sleep. It is also in a well maintained building with nice neighbours and it also has a good choice of cafes, bars, take-outs and restaurants very close by and that is before you get in to the town centre. The other reason I purchased this apartment is because it is very light and bright inside with no one over looking.
What makes this Apartment unique
I think the unique benefits of this apartment are - Its position - close to the rail and bus station. The terrace faces south and looks over the roof opposite which means no one looks in at you which is rare for a central location. Well maintained interior and exterior. Nice neighbours. Bright and airy Gas central heating for winter use.

A gloriously sunny, well situated, very well equipped apartment
We had a fantastic long stay. Peter was there to welcome us and show us around and was easy to contact if there were problems. The apartment is small but perfectly formed with all you could want in the way of kitchen equipment.The bed is comfortable and the area is quiet. There is a tantalising view of the Pyrenees from the balcony. It is handy for buses and trains for sightseeing and the free p'tit bus runs from the end of the street. We found lots to do in Perpignan and around without the need for a car.

Very clean and comfortable and close to the old town , train station, and buses.
I stayed for two months and the place and the owner were great. Peter was always available (but not needed) to resolve problems. He is English so no language barrier for me there. Everything in the apartment worked as it should and the location was very quiet despite being close to the train station. There are numerous restaurants, cafes, pizza, and kebab places within a couple of blocks. The place fit my needs perfectly and I can recommend it highly.

Comfortable and well located
The apartment is located well in the center of Perpignan between the main train station and the city center reachable on foot within 15 minutes. Perpignan is well located between the beaches of Mediterranean sea and Pyrenees mountains and within a short distance (30 minutes) to Spain. Perpignan's sister city of Girone is less than a couple of hours apart. Many cultural highlights can be reached within an hour toward the west offering special local wineries between Maury and Banyuls and others. Spring weather allows either skiing or beaching within 1-2 hours. The apartment is in a quiet location close to a weekly small local market offering various produce and easily reachable on foot to the musical joys of Jeudis de Perpignan during summer. Parking is within walking distance or can be reserved as needed. Amenities of the open apartment - which offers a small terrace - include an open pleasant living space and plenty of kitchen space. Bathroom includes a washing machine which is a helpful amenity. The supplied wifi internet service allows to plan for a day or a weekend within the region. The apartment is an excellent stay for either a single, couple, couple with child family. Several local bakeries, city markets offering produce and groceries are also within walking distance as well as FNAC store. It is surely a place I look forward to to get back to stay at for a longer time. I enjoyed excellent communication with the owner of the property who goes out of his way to meet and to inquire that my stay was as pleasant as it can be. There are many helpful guides in the apartment for the guests who may prefer to read on local events.

Excellent apartment near train and bus station
We have just spent 11 nights at this very comfortable and well equipped apartment. We did not hire a car so the location near the train and bus station was excellent. We travelled to quite a few local places on the 1 euro bus and found the local free La Petit Bus very useful round Perpigan.
We would not hesitate to use this apartment again. The owner has been very helpful from the booking process till the time we left.

Comfortable, well equipped and easy access to the centre.
I should have stayed longer. The apartment was comfortable, well equipped and in a great position for access to the rail and bus stations.
The location is very quiet and I found the bed very comfortable. Easy access to the town centre.
