• The bathroom has been partly refurbished with new WC, tiles, mirror, flooring, lights, bath and shower. The hot water is provided by a condensing boiler so never runs out, providing the boiler is switched on. There is no hot water tank to heat up. There is a built in extractor fan which comes on when the light is turned on and a two bar wall heater which may be used as necessary in the winter months. There is a set of weighing scales if you feel inclined to use them! There is plenty of worktop space to put your toiletries and a shower basket on the wall inside the bath/shower area.

• OvenThe oven is incorporated into our free standing cooker and is electric. The controls are basic and very simple. Instructions are on the wall.

• StereoThere is a small radio/cassette/cd player which plugs into the mains. KISS FM (101) is an English speaking radio station based in The Algarve.

• Kayak/canoeAvailable for hire at Sao Rafael & Gale Beaches in the high season. Paddle boards, etc. also available for hire. I think you can also book boat trips from here.
• BicyclesThere are several companies from whom you can hire bicycles. The nearest shop is in Guia. Please check on the internet for details.
• BoatVarious boat trips are available from the Marina and from several beaches in the high season. We have no access to our own boat!
• Water sports equipmentWater Sports are available in the high season from the Marina and from most of the beaches.
• TennisTennis courts are usually available for hire in the two hotels at the top of the road.

Suitability

Notes

• The apartment is continually being re-decorated & refurbished. No Portuguese TV but most UK channels are available.We have a CD/Radio and a DVD and a small selection of CD's, DVD's, games, books, etc. The main balcony is large and has a table with 4 reclining chairs and 4 standard chairs, perfect for dining or just relaxing. The views from both the lounge/main balcony and the double bedroom balcony are beautiful. Each bedroom has patio doors and a small Juliet balcony with wooden shutters. The two beautiful local beaches (Sao Rafael & Arrifes) are both just a short stroll away. Sunbeds are available on both beaches in the summer. Each beach has its own bar/restaurant serving meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day and evening but may be closed out of season. There are numerous excellent restaurants nearby - many within walking distance - offering a superb choice of dining. There are also a number of nearby restaurants who also serve food to take away.
