Disliked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Unpleasant
1. The locking system was terrible. I had watch a YouTube video before I arrived. Then the lock didn't work. Had to search for the property manager's phone number and after 20 minutes of haggling we finally got into our room.
2. Seating is very uncomfortable. A couch or two would have been helpful. TV was streamed but unclear how to watch live television.
3. The accuracy of the listing is deceiving. The video tour appears to be an immaculate duplex, however the details show housing was repaired not very well. Bathroom window is crudely spray painted black so either you or the neighbors can see each other. Seems like a cozy room utilized for just a stay, which did meet our needs. But there are a lot of flaws, such as (see #4)
4. Come nightfall the rats come out. I thought it was pecans falling on the roof, but it was mice, or rats...? My wife was terrified and would even interrupt our sleep. I could here one gnawing inside a wall right next to me one morning.
5. There are a lot of strict rules that seem like we had to clean the duplex ourselves before leaving. Strict that is even implied in their wifi password. Rules such as AC and heater temperature degree limits, buying toilet paper and paper towel ourselves should we run out, etc.
6. $400 Deposit? C'mon. For a place like this? We got all ours back nervously making sure we followed all the rules before leaving.
7. Neighborhood is lower to lower middle class with many dilapidated houses in the surrounding area.
Price for staying was conveniently very low. The duplex on the whole met minimal needs, but a renter better be aware of these other conditions before accepting the low rental rate.
