Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Teresa,

You have created a lovely vacation hideaway. You have thought of and addressed every detail for a comfortable stay.

The evenings were cool, no need for a dip in the pool, but we had to try it out anyway.

I hope to come back annually to visit my mother and will look to stay at 1349 as it is so convenient and a nice quiet respite.

I am sure our paths crossed some point back in the day growing up in Lanikai. I tell people I have every reason to be a calm and nice person because I grew up in the most beautiful place in the world. Class of '73.

Thank you ,

Pam & Andy

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your rental.

We had a plesent stay with rental so close to Lanikai Beach.

Beach items were a nice touch!!!

Rental had everything that you would need for a visit to Hawaii.

We hope to be back again in the near future.

Staying in Lanikai Beach

  • 5 of 5

It was so great stay by Teresa´s house. Teresa is really so nice and helpful. She prepared really nice clean house for us with local bio fruits, coffee and Hawaii chocolate. She prepared for us a lot of towels, dish towels, tea towels, also towels for the swimming pool. She also helped us to orient around the area. She gave us maps and explained us, where is the best to go to beach and to go for shopping. I recomend to stay in the house of Teresa. The best stay. If we go to Oahu, we want stay by Teresa. Teresa, thank you very much for everything. It was really nice holidays in your house. The area was great and so easy to reach the Lanikai beach.

Wonderful to wake up to the song of the birds each morning. The studio is walking distance to the beach and a quick drive to town. We loved visiting the Temple, BYU and the Polynesian Center. Then coming back to our home away for a quiet evening. We had what we needed and we appreciate you allowing us to stay a couple extra days. Mahalo The Carters

Perfect location, clean and beautiful studio rental, Teresa was so amazing and welcoming.

  • 5 of 5

It was perfect for my husband and I. The rental studio is clean and beautiful. Teresa is so accommodating and goes the extra mile to make you feel at home and comfortable. I would strongly recommend this rental. It is one block from the sandy beach and close to so many great places to eat and activities. I enjoyed the beautiful back porch in the morning for breakfast.

This was my first experience with vrbo and it was such a good one. It was so much better than a hotel. The owner makes the experience especially nice.

Gracious hostess, reasonable accommodations

  • 3 of 5

Our stay at this studio was mixed. Theresa proved to be a kind and thoughtful hostess. We were greeted with coffee and a big basket of fruit when we arrived, and she helpfully showed us around the place and walked us through logistics. The studio is located in a sweet little neighborhood close to one beach but not really within walking distance of all the wonderful restaurants and shops in nearby Kaihlua. The studio had a wonderfully comfortable bed and was well-equipped for cooking. My reservations about giving it a great review are as follows. The studio was quite small and dark (wood paneling with not much natural light) and not really set up with any comfortable sitting area for dining or lounging. It was also not very sound proof. We could hear the neighbors next door and would likely have heard the guests above us had there been any. In other words, a good place to dump your stuff and sleep, but not so nice for quiet downtime after sight seeing. Overall, I would say this place would have been an amazing deal had it been less expensive. For the same price, though, we did have much nicer accommodations at other VRBOS.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry that the studio did not live up to Marty & Patti's expectations. Unfortunately, a constantly unhappy baby was visiting next door during their stay. I suggested that they close up the studio and turn on the air conditioner, which I believe ameliorated the problem at night, but it did affect their ability to open up the windows to enjoy the natural Hawaiian breeze and light during the day. The second story above the studio was empty during their visit. When we have long-term tenants upstairs, there is some muffled sharing of sound, but the two stories do have a layer of insulation between them. The house is built with redwood, but only the bathroom in the studio is paneled. The rest of the main part of the studio is drywall painted a very light blush color. During the winter, when the sun is low on the horizon, there is less natural light reaching into the studio, but there are lights with varying degrees of illumination inside. In order to accommodate families with one to two children, the studio contains a queen bed as well as a single day bed with a pull out transom underneath. This does take up a lot of the space in the studio. Most of our guests lounge on the beds, sit outside on the private porch, relax in our pool garden or go down to the beach. When the weather isn't conducive to sitting outside, the studio probably can seem a bit compact. We live in a suburban neighborhood with hills behind us and ocean in front, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Kailua, which is five miles away. Our property is one block from the ocean and three short blocks from what is considered one of the top beaches of the world, Lanikai Beach, with soft white sand, turquoise waters and swimming turtles. We hope that our potential new guests will love what we have to offer in cozy, comfortable accommodations. Much Aloha, Teresa

Our family of four stayed in the studio for a full week from Nov 26 to Dec 3, 2016. We had a wonderful time and the studio had everything, I mean EVERYTHING, we needed!

We were greeted by Kona coffee, a local chocolate bar and a bowl of local fruit!

It was fully stocked for cooking meals, BBQ was great, and it had a great supply of beach towels, chairs and sand toys.

The studio was very clean and we felt at home.

We loved waking up the peaceful sounds of birds chirping then having our coffee on the gorgeous lanai. It was heavenly!

You honestly can't beat the location! A five minute easy walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The views were jaw-dropping.

We had a rental vehicle, so we did some day trips and the drive was never long from Lanikai! Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, The North Shore, Dole Plantation, all within an hour!

We enjoyed doing the Lanikai Pill Box Hike which started just a few blocks from the studio and would highly recommend it. The views were absolutely worth the effort!

We loved driving into Kailua to walk around and check out the shops, go for dinner (Buzz's and Mexico Lindo were fabulous!) and get groceries (Foodland seemed to be the best deal).

Theresa responded quickly to anything we asked and everything went very smoothly! We didn't end up using the pool, but it looked lovely.

We would definitely love to come back and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
