About Barry

We are lifelong skiers who discovered Solitude in 2007 and never left. While I wish we could be there all the time, we get out when we can and make our home available for others to use when we are not there. For us, Solitude is the perfect mountain, with untouched powder and all the challenges you could ask for back in the canyons, and family-friendly cruisers on the frontside. All in a picture-perfect little village. Let us help you discover the wonders of Solitude.

Well-appointed condo in a perfect mountain village..

  • 5 of 5

Barry's Solitude condo is great! My family of four stayed there for a ski week during February break. Although there isn't a ton of extra space for two teenagers and two adults to stretch out, we all had a comfortable place to sleep and room to hang out together. The unit has a king bed in the bedroom and bunk beds just outside the bedroom (single on top/full on bottom). A door on the bunk bed room would've been a bonus.. so that we didn't have to tiptoe in the early morning, but it was fine (the kids are deep sleepers). We didn't use the pull-out couch. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, utensils and appliances.. and even has various spices stocked.. so that was nice. Laundry is an easy walk to the 5th floor.. and it's free. Hot tub is close-by on the 1st floor. Underground parking is awesome. Ski lockers are conveniently located on the way out the door of the Powderhorn building. Club Solitude is right there too.. we played pool, used the showers before our flight and printed our boarding passes. We didn't use it much, but it's a nice amenity. There are a couple of places to eat and a bar that will not allow anyone under 21 through the door.. kind of odd, but whatever. We didn't visit the spa, but it's there. We were lucky and enjoyed 3-4 feet of fresh snow during our stay, so we skied plenty and really needed to the peace and quiet of the condo every night. It's not a party ski mountain, but it's exactly what we were looking for.. the terrain is great and the amenities perfect. We'd go back in a second. Thanks Barry.. who, by the way, is a very communicative and responsive owner. :)

Great trip!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay! Perfect ski in/ski out condo. Everything was very clean. Fully stocked kitchen - make sure you stop at the grocery store before making your way to the condo. Favorite place for dinner was Silver fork! It is a huge plus that they pick you up and drive you back if you don’t have a car! Barry also was great at providing lots of information about our stay! Thanks, Barry!

Fabulous condo in great family-orientated ski resort

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous couple of days in Solitude - wish we had been able to stay for longer. The condo was great - really well appointed and the bunk beds in the den were perfect for our kids (aged 10 and 12). We all loved being able to use the spa and hot tub which are both a very short distance away.

Barry was extremely helpful- we received great instructions when we booked (thanks for the advice re discounted ski lift passes) and the keys were forwarded in advance which was great as we arrived quite late in Solitude.

Solitude itself is fab - small and pretty quiet (just what we were looking for). There are several options for eating out, ski hire is about 50 yards from the condo, and the ski lift a couple of minutes walk away.

A brilliant holiday - we will definitely go back! Thank you!

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

First time going to Solitude and it was great - Barry provided amazingly detailed information that made all the logisitcs (meticulous directions; grocery store options; rentals/lift tickets; etc.) so easy. The condo is clean, comfortable, and exactly as Barry represents it to be. Very happy with our stay and would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Perfect Condo with excellent skiing

  • 5 of 5

My husband and daughter just returned from 5 days at Solitude. I planned this trip as a Christmas present for them. They enjoyed the skiing at Solitude. Staff throughout the resort was friendly and there were no lines. They spent one day at Snowbird and considered this to be a hill geared more toward expert skiers. For those of you travelling with 5th graders, look into Utah's 5th grade passport program. My daughter's lift tickets were all free and at Solitude she got a discounted group lesson. I believe there is also a program for 6th graders.

The condo location was perfect. Barry was so helpful as I planned this trip. I loved that he mailed key cards to me so there was essentially no check in process for my husband upon arrival. The key cards also allowed him to access underground parking. Per their report, the condo was quiet and beds were comfortable. Because of the direction the condo faces, they were able to enjoy lunch in the sun on the balcony - in shorts even :). Their favorite restaurant was Silver Fork Lodge, and Stone Haus had excellent huckleberry ice cream, so I'm told.

I suspect we will return to Solitude as a family and we will most definitely book with Barry again.
