Important: Please note that we are unlike most rentals in that our changeover days fall on Friday rather than Saturday! The dates you choose for your inquiries should reflect your understanding of our schedule. We designed our schedule in this fashion so that we could offer our guests a full weekend to enjoy this special location.

We apologize in advance that we do not permit large events such as weddings and reunions. We are a small family operation and therefore are not equipped to handle large scale gatherings.

This aside, we invite you to step into a peaceful bygone era to experience the summer home of your dreams! Imagine yourself enwrapped in sun and sea, and brushed by the gentle breezes of summer as they rustle through a feathery forest of yellow-groove bamboo. Let go of life's usual stresses and inhale the ever-changing vistas of Barnstable Harbor, and the character of Cape Cod's sand bars, dunes, and beach grasses!

How long has it been since you fled the cement courtyards and swimming pools of sterile motel units and spread out over 5 acres of beautiful waterfront property! Our spacious home with charming guest house is designed for families and groups of adults to enjoy large common rooms, as well as separate sleeping spaces for that afternoon nap for less than the cost of a hotel or motel room and with many more features.

We are able to accommodate up to 5 couples,12 guests in all, with a few single beds for young children to stay in the same room with parents. We offer a private boathouse with deck, nestled at the bottom of a grassy staircase by the water’s edge, our own private pebble & sandy beach, over 1,000 feet of private beach, and kayaks which you may use to paddle to the serene sandbars at low tide. Designed by a world famous architect for relaxed country living, this renovated home offers untold privacy, idyllic peace and quiet, and convenient access to all the tourist attractions that Cape Cod has to offer.

Greet the early sunrise of summer as it rises over the harbor looking to the east, and later admire the brilliant sunset of a long summer evening as it sets over the estuaries looking to the west! We invite you to come stay at Harborlights on the bluff, and add another page of enchanted memories to the summer scrapbook of your heart!

Oh How I Miss Thee

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous views, amazing amenities, kind and generous hosts, easy access to all that Cape Cod boasts-this home offers the total package. Our family of twelve, three generations, enjoyed this house tremendously. Paul and Mike are incredibly kind and generous. They took great care to insure that our visit was outstanding. The flotilla of canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards at the historic beach house was a major bonus. They also had life jackets and water shoes for all of us. The chef's kitchen had all of the necessary equipment to prepare and serve meals for all of us which we enjoyed on the wonderful table for twelve on the porch overlooking Barnstable Harbor. The whole experience was magical. The sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous and the peacefulness and calm of the porch and the neighborhood were a balm to the soul. Thank you for sharing this historic home with our family!

A Hidden Paradise

  • 5 of 5

A hidden treasure. So private with our own beach and an island at low tide. Plenty of water toys and even shoes along with a flotilla of kayaks, canoe and wakeboard. Paul and Mike, our amazing caretakers are always available, they even set the fire for a bonfire on the beach, we had s'mores. The porch has a HUGE table that we play cards at, games and color. No need to leave but if you have to, the Barnstable Market has just about

anything one might need. We have been staying every summer for 5 years, its magical. Some favorites- the bamboo "forest" going down the path to the boathouse, when the wind blows its a lovely sound. The view at sunrise is spectacular. Swimming with no one around, kayaking out to Sandy Neck but go with the tide! Perfect vacation.

Absolutely magical!

  • 5 of 5

As you walk from the parking area to the house you see the spectacular view of the bay, the beautiful landscaping, the house that is truly magical! If you are lucky enough to arrive when it is low tide it is even more wonderful.

The caretakers (Paul and Mike) are exceptionally attentive. We have been coming for years and every time we arrive, we feel like we've come home!!

I don't know where to begin - so much fun just playing in the water; kayaking out to the sandbar at low tide, playing croquet, walking on the beach, coloring with the family on the porch, walking the paths, having a campfire on the beach with marshmallows, stargazing, and so much more! Absolutely perfect in every way!

Looking forward to the next time!

You won't believe your own eyes ...

  • 5 of 5

For the past 5 or so years, a group of friends all get together, in this sprawling ocean side estate, in an attempt to create our own version of the big chill. There is room for everyone to gather together or enjoy the solitude of a private space. We especially enjoy heading out as a group to our own private sandbar beach each day at low tide. Come one come all by Kayak, Canoe, etc. bring your beach chairs, towels, coolers and relax with the best of them. The hosts Mike and Paul are very friendly, and are more than willing to build a campfire at the beach by the boathouse in the evening. When you look at the 180 degree view across the Harbor toward Sandy Neck, "you won't believe your own eyes"! After arrival, we really don't like to leave the comfort of the estate very often, but when we do there are plenty of local attractions, like Mudslides at the Mattakeese Warf, Chowder and fresh seafood to go from Osterville fish, lunch outside under the umbrellas at the Barnstable Tavern, dinner at the Dolphin Restaurant and a ride on the Whale watch are a few of our favorites. This is a highly recommended location for a week of R and R.

One of the Best Times of Our Lives

  • 5 of 5

We spent a fantastic week with our friends on this beautiful property overlooking Barnstable Harbor. The boat house was the perfect setting for my partner's surprise proposal, and the property managers Paul and Mike were absolutely fantastic to work with. The views from the backyard are probably some of the best you'll find in New England, and the houses themselves lend very well to entertaining groups of friends and family. While very 60's modern in style, the main house didn't feel dated at all and was a fun setting for our evening game nights. The guest house was a series of pleasant little bedrooms that all had windows or patios that overlooked the beautiful gardens. The boat house was probably the best of all, since it sits on a private beach (during low tide) and has lots of canoes, kayaks, and beach furniture for adventures as well as lounging. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for beautiful views and a little piece of heaven on the Cape.

Best place we've stayed on the Cape yet!

  • 5 of 5

This property is gorgeous. Sitting up on the bluff, we enjoyed sunsets looking over the bay. You can see your family and friends swim below as they set off from the enormous boathouse that had it all: kids' toys, canoe, kayaks and deck. Evenings, we'd take s'mores down to the bonfire.

We loved the natural beach which had 2 entrances: one rocky and the other grassy. Just bring your water shoes and swim out to one of the many islands or sand bars that appear at low tide. Our young kids enjoyed it as much as our 70 year old parents!

The kitchen was our favorite place in the house. Large, open and connects to a sitting & dining area so one was never alone when cooking. Lots of beds in the guesthouse. The estate can really accommodate large parties comfortably so that everyone has privacy and space.

If we were in need of anything, Paul was quick to see that we had it. This is the kind of hospitality that makes you feel at ease using anything and makes you feel good about leaving your fancy olive oil behind for the next person. We hope to be back next year!
