The property was nice. It was very roomy and accommodated our 3 adult couples well. It would have been more convenient if there was a half bath on the main floor. Other than that, it suited our needs well, while we visited the historic district which was only a short ride away.

The property is in a nice area, it is quiet all around and very close to a lot of the main areas. That’s where the pros end, though. The issue is, the property was not clean. There was dust on a lot of the surfaces, there were random wires on the floor, some panels were taken off and not put back leaving exposed pipes, there was mold around the bathtub in the upstairs bathroom, there are cracks around the window sills and such, there is peeled paint, and there are some other miscellaneous maintenance things. There were no trash bags in the garbage bins in the kitchen. There was a wooden spatula and fork which were definitely used, there was food residue on them left in the kitchen sink, clearly someone was there right before we checked in, we don’t know if it was the cleaner or someone who stayed before us and the cleaner didn’t catch that. Also, the thermostat is locked up in a box, I don’t know what for, but at night the area gets very cold, so it was cold in the house and I couldn’t change the temperature, I had to call and text the property management a lot of times to get a hold of them about the temperature change. A lot of the HVAC vents were broken. I told property management about the issues, and they said they’d fix up all the issues, I only stayed for one night so I can’t comment on their actions against their response, but it shouldn’t have had these issues in the first place. The place is not what it looks like in the pictures.

Bait & Switch - and I fell for it

Hello! Buyer beware on Tabby Town Rentals. We booked this property and were texted a week before our arrival that it was overbooked. But they had another property. Ok fine. They sent pictures that showed the bedrooms and they looked fine. I assumed it would be a comparable property to the one we booked (this one). Couldn't have been more wrong. Arrived at a dirty rooming house with no central living space - not a vacation home. The bathrooms at this "new" property were moldy with debris (hair and otherwise) in the drain. Obviously upset, I found the company number online and talked to a horribly rude woman who accused me of trying to "blackmail" her when I said I would give a bad review. We didn't stay and had to pay for a hotel. I have opened a dispute with VRBO and my credit card, but have a feeling I am going to be on the hook as the woman I talked to at Tabby Town seemed familiar with this type of conversation. They have obviously done it before and will probably do it again.

Great location and parking, mediocre property

Dishwasher didn't work and there were someone else's dishes in the dishwasher when we arrived. Upstairs bathroom had a horrible smell. Mattress in room A is warn out. Lots of stains on furniture and walls also noted. That all being said it was easy to park 2 cars in the driveway and another along the street in front of the house. It was helpful that the basement room was closed in and had a door to keep our toddler from falling down the stairs.
