This apartment is perfectly situated. All major tourist attractions were about a twenty minute walk. Furthermore some of the best food of our entire trip was located in this neighborhood! Would highly recommend for anyone looking to be close to the heart of Florence but wanting a more authentic neighborhood.
Walking distance to beautiful restaurants, so well decorated and super clean.
Clean, tidy and in a well appointed but not touristy a short walk over Arno to main attractions
Met by Sergoi who was very friendly and gave us lots of tips. Very comfortable, only problem maybe people with mobility problems because of the stairs.
Exactly like it was described.
I was very pleased with our stay. The place was very clean with a comfortable bed. I liked being on the other side of the river because things are a bit cheaper and I liked having a neighborhood feel to the place. It's easy to shop and bring food back so you don't have to eat out for every meal. (There's a wonderful electric juicer in the kitchen! Juice your own oranges every morning.) Sergio made our arrival easy by being there to let us in.
There are lots of stairs and it's quite a workout, but the building is several hundred years old, so that's to be expected. The price is also reasonable. I would stay there again for sure.
Cozy and well prepared apartment
The very well remodeled apartment, spotless clean in a convenient location within walking distance to the Old Town, the train station, bus stop, car rental and restaurants. We could find parking space in 5 minutes walking distance of the apartment every day and it was free! We had a very warm welcome from Sergio who helped us with everything we need during the stay. We definitely recommend the apartment. We may only note that it might a bit hard to walk stairs for senior adults or people with limited mobility.
Great Apartment and Location, Great Hosts!
This is a great neighborhood to stay in while in Florence. So much of the best shopping and dining and views are on this "Oltrarno" side of the river. Yet it's still such a short walk to all the important art and history of centro. Sergio and his partner both greeted us and could not be warmer or more welcoming and accommodating. There are 43 stairs up the the apartment, then another flight up to the bedroom. But you probably are not visiting Italy if you don't like climbing stairs! For us it was not a problem. If there is a downside of this apartment, it might be that there is not much a sitting area. The kitchen and it's table are quite small. But for us, this was well worth the trade-off. To stay in such a clean apartment, so close to everything we wanted to be near, with these wonderful hosts, at a very fair price--that is what we were seeking, and this was perfezione!
And 'the area of Florence located on the left bank of the river Arno (Oltrarno, in Florence also called Diladdarno), the Florentine area where he still lives. Nearby museums and major monuments of the city as the Uffizi Gallery, Pitti Palace, Basilica di Santo Spirito, the Boboli Gardens and the shops of artisans, goldsmiths and restorers.
