About this property

This stunning home features North American standards amid the quiet rural coffee growing region of Costa Rica's Western Pacific highlands away from the heat and tourist crowds of the coast.
Situated 1.25 hours from San Jose and 1.25 hours from the coast this tropical sanctuary features a community area with a beautiful pond garden and a 20 meter swimming pool a 5 minute walk away.
Everything you need is within 20 minutes from the property with a local Pulperia Convenience store at the top of the hill. Walking trails, biking and outdoor activities abound. Our favorite activity is starting the day with a coffee on the patio watching the wildlife start the day which includes very active toucans, scarlet macaws and abundant other bird life.

6 weeks in Altos de Antiqua

Everything about our stay was great! The house, the setting, the climate. The drive to Altos was as advertised, on a paved road. Once there we made several trips down to the coast and one up to Monteverde. These drives were also on paved roads and took in the range of 2 hours each. We wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Chris' house for anyne interested in a relaxing holiday.

Casa 19: Altos de Antigua

We truly enjoyed our 6 week stay at Casa 19. It is a beautiful home with a great floor plan and plenty of space. The views were fantastic and the weather was great. Brian, the on site manager was exceptionally kind and helpful. We highly recommend Casa 19 to anyone considering a stay near Santiago de Puriscal.

Beautiful home and location

We love to stay in the mountain areas and this property did not disappoint! Beautiful large home, very well supplied kitchen and great views. There was a wonderful variety of birds to watch any time of day. The association pool and hot tub are close by and well maintained, the community friendly and welcoming. The owner and manager were very accessible and quick to assist if needed. Not far from Puriscal for groceries, varied restaurants and a great farmers market. Definitely recommend!

Living in Calgary, Alberta we had longed for a warm place to call our other home and when our good friends moved to Costa Rica to start this community we thought that we would visit and support them by at least looking at what they were doing. Well our first trip down there we spend a few days on the property which was newly developed then headed off to the coast where we ultimately thought that we would buy. Well, after spending time on the coast which is intensely beautiful but hot for full time living and way too many tourists we went back to the property and fell completely in love with the area, the development and the people.

Why they chose this property

Far enough away from the crowds but close enough to take advantage of the coast, the city, culture and recreation such as golf.
The area is lush, full of wildlife and the people in the surrounding villages and farms are just so nice.
The serenity offered by this property is just such a blessing for time away from the North American lifestyle.

What makes this property unique

The infrastructure and amenities offered by theis boutique development are completely unique in Costa Rica. Paved roads and exceptionally high construction standards are evident quickly when compared to other developments.
The hiking and outdoor activities are endless.
