This two-bedroom is beautifully upgraded with granite kitchen, bathroom, and fireplace. This pet friendly space features laminate flooring throughout, so it's easy to keep clean. The unique design of this property joins three dwelling units with a three-bay garage, so no units share any walls. This getaway is a second-floor unit, on top of the garages, direct access to the garage and laundry area from inside the unit is convenient. There is no charge for off street parking. Garage parking is not available at this time.

You'll enjoy a full kitchen, with oven/cooktop, microwave, popcorn popper, dining area, TV with Roku, private laundry facilities, full bathroom, fireplace, all with lots of granite! You'll have access to your private two bedroom apartment, each room with a queen sized bed. The apartment has a full bathroom, dining room, kitchen and living room. There is a smart TV in the living room, so you can stream your favorite shows. You'll have private laundry facilities which are located in the garage, down the stairs past the bathroom. You car park one car in front of the middle garage space.

It's self check-in so late arrival is not a problem. You'll be given the lock box code a few days prior to your arrival.

Check-in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am. We will offer you early check-in and late check-out options if it's available, a couple days before your arrival/departure for a fee of $25-$50 depending on your desired schedule and availability.

Granite Getaway is just 6 miles from the Juneau Ferry Terminal, 2 miles from the airport, 3 miles from the famous Mendenhall Glacier, 4 miles from the University of Alaska,10.5 miles from Downtown Juneau and 21 miles from Eaglecrest Ski Area. The bus stop is a 10 minute walk, and there is a convenience store just steps from the bus stop. Two bikes are available for rent from this location for $10 per bike per day for your entire stay, or for longer term stays the bikes are $50 per bike per stay.

Host, Kelli, happens to be a co-owner of a large tour company with over 25 tours throughout Alaska, and offers 10% discount on all tours offered by the company to her vacation rental guests. Popular tours offered in Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, and Sitka include whale watching, salmon bakes, river rafting, kayaking, canoe tours, boat tours, hiking, gold panning, private cars, Mendenhall Glacier tours, jeep tours, Alaska RV and Cruise tour packages, and more. If you are interested in this discount, ask Kelli for the details.

Pets are welcome, upon approval. There is an additional $30 nightly fee for your pet. If you feel that the extra animal/person fee is too expensive, and the value isn't there for you, please don't book this place. We want to offer pet friendly places and we want your business, but we want you to be happy. We strive to keep the properties clean and maintained for all guests, which this fee helps pay for. You'll be asked to rate the value of your experience, and If this fee creates a diminished value perception, then we hope you find another fabulous place for your party.

We will strive to provide the best customer service and improve as we go with feedback from our guests. We hope to earn your five-star review! Your expectations should be limited to what is promised here, and reviews should reflect how we did with these promises. Before submitting your review, please remember to base it on the following criteria and what was promised to be provided for the price paid as follows:

Easy check-in process – You'll be able to self-check in. Kelli will give you check-in details prior to arrival, including a lock box code. You'll be able to access the rental at your leisure after check-in time, at 4pm. We offer early check-in options, if it's available a couple days prior to your arrival for $25-$50, depending on your arrival time.

Great Communication – Kelli is known to be responsive to guests before, during, and after their stay. You can expect prompt responses to your questions.

Clean Accommodations – Your private apartment should be sparkling clean.

Great Mendenhall Valley Location – It's a 10 minute walk from the city bus stop and three miles from the famous Mendenhall Glacier which you can get to by car, bike (available for rent at this property) or walking on a paved bike path or gravel trail. You can take the bus for two miles and walk the third mile. This is not a downtown Juneau property. Downtown Juneau is substantially more expensive than the Mendenhall Valley, so this location for the price should not be compared to that of downtown. If you want to be downtown, and don't want to take a 45 minute bus ride to go 16 miles, then this space is not for you.

Accurate Description of the space - I try to make continuous improvements when guests make suggestions and do my best to keep the changes updated and published. If I missed something please let me know, so I can update the information. If you are missing something you were counting on, please let me know immediately, so I can try to provide it for your stay.

Great Value – Juneau is expensive, especially during peak season, and while this is a more affordable option, we understand that it can seem expensive. Part of the value is the ability to rent for only one night and have an additional person. The price fluctuates depending on the season. We have to charge more when the business is there, so that we can afford to have it vacant for long, slow periods.

Have a fantastic trip!

Good home base
Good unit for our visit with Juneau family nearby. Not on the main tourist or bus routes, so if you don't have family to drive you around, you will need a rental car. Juneau is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Better than a Hotel/Motel
I grew up in Juneau and my first instinct is to make reservations at a hotel/motel, but my sister told me about Vrbo. What an experience! It was like bring my home with me, all I need was the key to unlock the door and a little bit of groceries and we were very well taken care of. Going forward when I travel I will definitely be using Vrbo. Thanks!

Great - Expectations Met
Quiet residential neighborhood yet very accessible to downtown, glacier entrance and stores. The unit was clean and well stocked from the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm weather during our visit and the upper unit stayed comfortable with the fan and breeze from the window. Kelli was a fantastic, responsive host.
