About the property

Stunning farmhouses close a few minutes for Anghiari.

Casa Mimosa is a stone farmhouse on the edge of the hamlet of La Palaia. A pathway dotted with olive trees leads to the kitchen door, inside, a country kitchen is at the centre of the ground floor and has plenty of workspace for enthusiastic cooks. There is a dishwasher, fridge-freezer plus an extra fridge for drinks.

From the kitchen there is an open archway leading to the dining room, which has a dining table for 6 people, a comfy sofa and a large bookshelf with a wide selection of books. From here there is another opening leading to the living room. This has a beautiful open fireplace, a sofa and 2 armchairs. When restructuring, the owners wanted to make the most of the stunning surrounding scenery and so both the dining room and living room have sets of French doors that provide truly breath-taking views.

Further along the hallway, there is a bathroom and a spacious double bedroom with French doors and views of the land. From the hallway, a hand built wooden staircase leads to the first floor of the home. Straight a head on the landing is a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom. This bedroom has doors leading to a private terrace, a perfect place to read and have breakfast.

To the right of the landing, there is the third spacious bedroom also with an en suite bathroom. This bedroom has French doors with a Juliette balcony.

The recently completed swimming pool is a stunning feature in the garden. It has built in steps leading into the pool and is a great size for swimming and floating around on a lilo. Poolside, there is a patio area with 6 sunbeds all with head shades. With beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside, the swimming pool will be hard to tear yourself away from during your stay.

A landscaped garden surrounds the property with maturing fruit trees and locally sourced plants and shrubs. Leading out of the doors from the dining room, there is a rustic pagoda and outdoor eating area that comfortably seats 6. This has views of the fields and hills beyond the property and overlooks the swimming pool. The farmhouse comes with land for guests to enjoy including stables and a paddock. The owner sometimes leaves ponies in the paddock over the summer which adds to the charm of the property. If you are not horse lover, they are far enough away from the house not to be a bother.

Below the swimming pool there is ample parking for guests.

For larger groups, there is a second house attached to Casa Mimosa but with a completely separate facilities, entrance and garden that can be rented as well providing a further 2 double bedrooms and 1 single.

About Tracey Lega

This beautiful home is owned by Patsy who has had homes in Tuscany for the past 17 years and is managed by Tracey and Pierluigi Lega and assisted by Alfie the dog shown in the photo. :D

Why Tracey Lega chose Arezzo

Patsy originally owned a house deep in the Tuscan countryside but decided she would like move closer to Anghiari. She fell in love with La Palaia, a beautiful hamlet and bravely set about transforming a ruin into the beautiful home that is there now. Her artists eye is reflected in the home and the pieces within in.

What makes this farmhouse unique

This property is managed by Tracey and Pierluigi Lega who own an estate agency/property management company that is based in Anghiari . We are a bilingual team readily available to help you with any problems you may have during your stay and to ensure that you have a great holiday in our little corner of Tuscany.

Casa Mimosa was a perfect place for our family

  • 5 of 5

We had amazing and such a relaxing holiday at Casa Mimosa. Casa Mimosa had a warm, very welcoming Tuscany feeling and it was very well equipped including nice espresso machine.

Tracy was more than helpful with everything! She made great suggestions about local things to do and restaurants to try. She even made a table reservation for us before our arrival to make sure we could all fit in one table for birthday celebration. And a welcome basket full of local products was a perfect start for a holiday :)

We were group of 8 people (4 adults and 4 kids (1 to 4 years)) and there where plenty of room for us. Property worked very well even with the small children and the pool was separated from the house by a fence so the kids understood not to go there without supervision. Kids were so excited about the property, the pool and there were Tracy´s kids old toys there for them also to play with.

We started our days eating breakfast at the terrace enjoying a magnificent view. And in the evenings after the kids went to bed, the terrace was perfect place for adults to enjoy a glass of wine. Property and the house was clean.

Our family highly recommends Casa Mimosa!

Exactly what we wanted

  • 5 of 5

When you go to Tuscany, you think of views and great food. This had it all and more. The house was well thought out, very comfortable and we loved the ensuite baths. The kitchen was large and easy to use. Sitting under the grape arbor siping some fantastic wine and watching the sun set over the hills was wonderful. We had a great week.

Heaven in Tuscany

  • 5 of 5

The lovely Tracey from Itcasa found us this beautiful property. It is owned by a Canadian artist and is a real home as opposed to a holiday home. It was gorgeous and my favourite spot was to sit outside under the pergola looking at the beautiful views. It is extremely well equipped with everything you need and has an amazing swimming pool. We fed this house and would definitely book it again.

Everything you need for a beautiful quiet unwind!

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful quiet tranquil spot with outstanding views. Fabulous pool.Wonderful house , spacious, well-equipped, very individually furnished and full of fascinating objects d'art, books and a beautiful grand piano. There was a generous and delicious welcome basket and lots of help on hand for local info, restaurant recommendations etc. We were curious as to whether we would cope without air-con ,being there end July/ early August in what turned out to be a heatwave! We were reassured that it is more unusual to have air-con and the thick-walled stone houses with shutters would suffice- and that was certainly true!

Just on the outskirts of Anghiari ,which is a stunning hilltop village, so easy to get to and well supplied with slightly further away supermarkets. It's an easy journey from Perugia airport and very easy rides to Assisi, Siena, Florence and Arezzo, although we were only there for a week so couldn't get to all of those lovely destinations. We all loved our time in Anghiari so much(including our 2 older teens ) that we are returning for 2weeks next year - can't wait!

Tuscan Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Although almost everything about Casa Mimosa is stunning, its most arresting feature is the panoramic view from the front terrace, which changes with the light and is possibly the most beautiful Tuscan view I've ever had the pleasure of getting acquainted with. Three huge french doors open the house on to this view, making it part and parcel of our stay there. It's almost as if this house brings the Tuscan landscape inside. The accommodation is top notch, and very comfortable, with a cosy, warm and homely feel of a real Tuscan farmhouse blended with modern elements, and complimented by beautiful art on the walls. The real treat of our stay in Casa Mimosa were the hours we spent by the beautiful pool, which also looks out on the incomparable view. It's near the beautiful town of Anghiari, only a few minutes drive, although the access road to Casa Mimosa is in need of maintenance. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it.

Anghiari is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The town has preserved its medieval roots beautifully and hosts many local festivals throughout the year celebrating its heritage and the local culture and cuisine. There are several pizza restaurants here including an outdoor one with a children's play area as well as some superb traditional Tuscan restaurants.

Sansepolcro is a few kilometers away and is famed for being home to the painting of the Resurrection by Peiro della Francesca which can be seen at the Museo Civico along with several other important pieces of art.

Arezzo is a 30 minute drive from the house. It has a main train station with lines to Florence and Rome. It is a beautiful town that hosts a jousting contest every year that draws crowds from all over Tuscany and beyond. On the first weekend of every month there is an antiques fair that fills every street of the old part of the town.

Other beautiful places to visit that are easily reached for a day trip include; Siena, Assisi, Cortona, Florence.

The nearest beach is Rimini, which takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car. Slightly closer by is Lake Trasimeno which takes around 50 minutes by car, here you can swim, sunbathe and hire boats or take a trip on a ferry across to the different islands on the lake.

Through our office in the centre of Anghiari, we can organise day trips, wine tasting, cooking experiences and seasonal activities such as visits to the local oil mill and vineyards. Please feel free to ask for more information.
