Set within the beautiful hamlet of La Palaia, minutes from Anghiari, these neighbouring yet private farmhouses are available to rent separately or together for larger groups. Both have been resurrected from a ruin to create 2 beautiful holiday homes through careful restoration and the addition of some modern comforts.
Casa Mimosa has 3 double bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms and so can comfortably sleep 6. Casa Rosa has 2 double bedrooms and one single plus 2 bathrooms.
With stunning views from every window, these stunning farmhouse offer a slice of life in the Tuscan countryside but with the added convenience of only being a few minutes drive from Anghiari.
Casa Mimosa, the larger of the two houses, has sole use of the swimming pool and a private garden and land including a stable and paddock.
Casa Rosa, has a completely separate entrance and private garden for outdoor dining.
Casa Mimosa is a stone farmhouse on the edge of the hamlet of La Palaia. A pathway dotted with olive trees leads to the kitchen door, inside, a country kitchen is at the centre of the ground floor and has plenty of workspace for enthusiastic cooks. There is a dishwasher, fridge-freezer plus an extra fridge for drinks.
From the kitchen there is an open archway leading to the dining room, which has a dining table for 6 people, a comfy sofa and a large bookshelf with a wide selection of books. From here there is another opening leading to the living room. This has a beautiful open fireplace, a sofa and 2 armchairs. When restructuring, the owners wanted to make the most of the stunning surrounding scenery and so both the dining room and living room have sets of French doors that provide truly breath-taking views.
Further along the hallway, there is a bathroom and a spacious double bedroom with French doors and views of the land. From the hallway, a hand built wooden staircase leads to the first floor of the home. Straight a head on the landing is a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom. This bedroom has doors leading to a private terrace, a perfect place to read and have breakfast.
To the right of the landing, there is the third spacious bedroom also with an en suite bathroom. This bedroom has French doors with a Juliette balcony.
Bedroom 1 – located on the ground floor and consisting of double bed, wardrobes, and bedside tables. It has an en suite bathroom and French doors provide views to the rear of the property.
Bedroom 2 – located on the first floor and consisting of double bed, wardrobe and an en ensuite bathroom. The Juliette balcony has views of the rear of the property.
Bedroom 3 – located on the first floor. Double bedroom, wardrobe, ensuite bathroom and private terrace.
Casa Mimosa has 3 en suite bathrooms.
The recently completed swimming pool is a stunning feature in the garden. It has built in steps leading into the pool and is a great size for swimming and floating around on a lilo. Poolside, there is a patio area with 6 sunbeds all with head shades. With beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside, the swimming pool will be hard to tear yourself away from during your stay.
A landscaped garden surrounds the property with maturing fruit trees and locally sourced plants and shrubs. Leading out of the doors from the dining room, there is a rustic pagoda and outdoor eating area that comfortable seats 6. This has views of the fields and hills beyond the property and overlooks the swimming pool. The farmhouse comes with land for guests to enjoy including stables and a paddock.
Below the swimming pool there is ample parking for guests.
Casa Rosa - available to rent with Casa Mimosa or separately.
For larger groups who wish to rent the Mimosa guest house in addition to the main house, this is located next door to the main house. The guest house has its own private entrance and out door dining area. On the ground floor of there is a cosy lounge area and a dining table this leads to the kitchen which is well equipped and includes a coffee machine and dishwasher. On the ground floor there is a bathroom and a large, double bedroom with French doors opening on to the garden. In keeping with the main house, there is a hand built, wooden staircase leading to the first floor. Upstairs, there is a second spacious double bedroom with a Juliette balcony, a bathroom and a small twin room suitable for children.
Casa Rosa has a private garden area for outdoor dining.
Casa Rosa is attached to Casa Mimosa making it a great option for large groups or 2 families. It is completely independent with a modern kitchen, cosy living room and dining area. It has 2 double bedrooms and one single and 2 bathrooms.
Casa Rosa is completely independent of Casa Mimosa with its own entrance and private garden for outside dining.
When rented out separately to Casa Mimosa it does not have use of the swimming pool.
This beautiful home is owned by Patsy who has had homes in Tuscany for the past 17 years and is managed by Tracey and Pierluigi Lega and assisted by Alfie the dog shown in the photo. :D
Patsy originally owned a house deep in the Tuscan countryside but decided she would like move closer to Anghiari. She fell in love with La Palaia, a beautiful hamlet and bravely set about transforming a ruin into the beautiful home that is there now. Her artists eye is reflected in the home and the pieces within in.
This property is managed by Tracey and Pierluigi Lega who own an estate agency/property management company that is based in Anghiari . We are a bilingual team readily available to help you with any problems you may have during your stay and to ensure that you have a great holiday in our little corner of Tuscany.

Anghiari is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The town has preserved its medieval roots beautifully and hosts many local festivals throughout the year celebrating its heritage and the local culture and cuisine. There are several pizza restaurants here including an outdoor one with a children's play area as well as some superb traditional Tuscan restaurants.
Sansepolcro is a few kilometers away and is famed for being home to the painting of the Resurrection by Peiro della Francesca which can be seen at the Museo Civico along with several other important pieces of art.
Arezzo is a 30 minute drive from the house. It has a main train station with lines to Florence and Rome. It is a beautiful town that hosts a jousting contest every year that draws crowds from all over Tuscany and beyond. On the first weekend of every month there is an antiques fair that fills every street of the old part of the town.
Other beautiful places to visit that are easily reached for a day trip include; Siena, Assisi, Cortona, Florence.
The nearest beach is Rimini, which takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car. Slightly closer by is Lake Trasimeno which takes around 50 minutes by car, here you can swim, sunbathe and hire boats or take a trip on a ferry across to the different islands on the lake.
