Awesome location! Beautiful scenery!
Our stay at this property was very nice. We had 9 adults and 7 children in our group. We did purchase the bunkhouse to have additional space. The teenagers loved hanging out in the bunkhouse! The house offered great space & amenities. We felt very at home. The owners came out the next day to greet us and give us info and tips about the area. We were close to many hiking trails & fishing areas. The closest store is a 40 min drive so it would be wise to stop on the way in and get as much as you need for your stay. I honestly feel like the pictures on the site don’t do the house justice! It is just so beautiful & to me it looks so much better in person! We really enjoyed spending time together at this property and would stay here again!
Quiet secluded cottage
Our stay at the cottage was very nice. Lee had everything ready and waiting for us to start our vacation. The cottage and bunkhouse were both well supplied with kitchen items etc. The property is beautiful. We were here for a family members birthday which included a trip to Noah’s Ark Replica. Defiantly get your food supplies for the first couple days as it is a 40 minute ride on a twisty road to the nearest stores. Overall we had a great family trip. The cottage and bunkhouse were very comfortable for our large family.
Best cabin ever!
We have been spending a week or two at the mountains pretty much every year since the kids were small. Since the kids are grown now and have children of their own, it becomes difficult to find a cabin that will fit us all. This cabin not only had room for us all but was one of the top three of all we have stayed at. The owners came by the day after our arrival to welcome us and point out trails, local spots to visit, and some history of the area. There was something for everyone in a group of 13 who’s ages ranged from 4 to 79 years of age. Many interesting hikes on the property and is close to many interesting places to visit. I would highly recommend this cabin and hope to return again.
Thanks for your great review! We are pleased that The Cottage @Hemlock Grove not only ticked all the boxes for 5 stars but that you enjoyed the foot-hills area of the Smoky Mountains and Cherokee National Forest as well! It seems that all ages enjoy and thrive at The Cottage and adjacent Bunkhouse. Many thanks to you and your family for looking after everything very well and leaving it in good condition. You are welcome back and we hope you decide to make The Cottage @ Hemlockgrove and possibly Lakewood Cottage @ Hemlock grove your vacation spot every Summer to escape the Florida heat!
Large Family Group
What a wonderful host Lee was. The property was just right for our large family retreat - 7 adults and 10 grandkids. The bunkhouse was perfect for Grandpa and Gigi to keep the older grands while the parents got to sleep in. The yard was great and we would have enjoyed it thoroughly if it hadn't rained. I would highly recommend this property for a large family gathering!
Perfect Mountain Retreat!
Everything about our 8 night stay was wonderful! All the 5* reviews are right. Very trustworthy. There were 11 of us from 5 different families and everyone loved the house and surroundings. It was very clean and well taken care of. Beautiful and inviting. The welcome basket and fresh flowers were a treat! Also bottled water on the nightstand was a nice touch. Plenty of towels for everyone and the bed linens were sooo comfy! The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals for a crowd.
Description and instructions are very accurate and easy to follow. Had a little glitch at first,
but Lee & Pat handled it as quickly as possible. Great communication. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property or to return. Would love to see all those Magnolias in bloom! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! The scenery is amazing!
So much to see in one area. Our ministry took us all thru the Cherokee National Forest and surrounding areas. We visited the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum, traveled the Cherohala Skyway, saw Bald River Falls and my hubby even made it to Conasauga Falls-in his suit & tie! The rest of us gave out at various points along the trail! Unanimous vote for best restaurant is The Patio in Madisonville!
My recommendation...Dont pass this one by! I promise you'll love it as much as we did!
Thank you Jenny for such a great review! It sounds like your group had a very successful and enjoyable stay. We know that The Cottage isn’t fancy but we do strive to provide some little touches and make it clean and comfortable. Your group left everything in great shape for which we are very grateful. Please come and stay with us again any time your mission work brings you to the area!
Had lovely time in this spacious house, great communication with the owner.
We were staying with 2 families: 4adults and 4 kids. The house was very spacious, was well equipped, and had absolutely everything you need during your stay. In terms of cleanses: was immaculate. The owner did his best for the quests by taking care of the smallest details: from lighting up Xmas lights, through a welcome goody basket, to remotely preheating the water in the hot tub so we could use it right away.
The house is remotely located, 40min drive away from restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations. We, personally, loved the location: middle of the woods, with trails all around. With some grocery planning ahead, you don't drive forth and back at all.
JK, Thanks so much for a lovely review! You and your family are welcome back any time! -Lee
