Celebration weekend
We celebrated my 60th birthday and it was a fantastic place to do so. The recommendation for the chef was excellent also- so a great weekend for us all and we would not hesitate to forward the recommendations to others if asked.

Break between Christmas and New Year
A lovely barn conversion with plenty of space for 8 of us. Perfectly described on the VRBO website. A most relaxing break with the family in a quiet and remote part of Suffolk. Would recommend and would go again.

Great escape to the country
Old Oak Barn lived up to our expectations and was a lovely place to stay and celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary. The barn provides spacious, well maintained accommodation, the kids loved the pool table and dart board whilst the adults loved sundowners on the patio overlooking the fields. It is set in an extremely quiet location amongst fields, which was perfect for our family. It could only be bettered if the nearest pub was closer, and less than an hours walk. For any family looking for a rural getaway in the middle of Suffolk, this is it!

Hi and Welcome to Old Oak Barn ....The photo shows the state the property was in when I first saw it and decided to take on the challenge of converting it into a beautiful dwelling!

Why they chose this property

I bought this barn as my family live a couple of villages away also in a converted barn, so with their experience and a good builder, it gave me comfort to turn it into something special and be closer to them when I turn my back on the hustle and bustle of London.

What makes this property unique

The Barn is a very special place hidden down a narrow country lane with few disturbances! Despite the frame being from the 16th century, it has all the facilities you would expect from a modern house but oozes character! You can enjoy a meal at the oak 10 seater trestle dining table, listen to your music on the fantastic sonos system or light a fire and sip a drink whilst staring at the flickering flames....it's up to you....The sleeping arrangements are such that you can have 5 double beds or switch 3 of the rooms into twins tailoring to the requirements of your group. If you would like to treat yourself to a hot tub during your stay, a purpose built patio area can also accommodate your needs - please let me know in advance of your booking if you would like to include a 5-6 person hot tub.
