We work harder so you can sleep better
All ApartmentsApart properties meet our high standards. We don't take a property on unless:
- it's near the ground floor or has an elevator
- has a decent kitchen
- is well located / convenient for public transport
- would meet the approval of the majority of our guests
And once we take a property on we:
- paint it up
- furnish it tastefully with furniture suitable to sleep as many guests as possible in comfort
- provide extra amenities you'll need for a comfortable stay like hair driers and internet
- supply a handbook for you so you can work the equipment in the apartment
- leave you some tips on the area and restaurants
We're sure that you'll love staying with us. We have hundreds of thousands of customers who already love our services. Why not make it one more?
-Free wifi. Between my husband and I and two devices, we were not successful in entering their complicated password. Didn't know if we should use the "quotes" on either side, use the space, not use the space, enter the hyphen, not enter the hyphen, upper case where they showed upper case. Whew. Several attempts each way which left us feeling unprepared for the next leg of our journey as we were planning to double check a few things prior to departure.
-My two final thoughts are regarding noise level. Being located on a main road downtown, we were able to hear traffic until falling asleep, but not so much that we couldn't sleep. There was also a distinct thumping of music through the bathroom wall. Thankfully, our bedroom wall seemed to be more dense and it wasn't audible there.
We ended on a good note when our van had neither been towed nor ticketed on Sunday morning. I don't know if it would have turned out so well on a weekday.
We finally made it inside the apartment and the kids were eager to explore and very happy with the bed options. We shared the ONE bathroom sink for brushing teeth and used the kitchen sink too since one bathroom sink for nine is inadequate. Yes, there is a "half bath", but it has just a toilet so then hands still need to be washed either in the kitchen sink or wait in line for the bathroom anyway.
The main problems were in the one full bathroom.
-For starters, there is no trash can. I found the kitchen trash and brought it in.
-No washcloths, but I understand this is common to Europe and just the Americans look for them.
-The shower curtain doesn't extend around the entire area. So if you are sharing the bathroom with many, they either wait outside, or get a peep show, not to mention all the water on the floor afterwards.
-By the end of the shower, I was ankle deep in water, which does gross me out, because I couldn't figure out how to open the drain without my glasses or contacts. Afterwards, when I saw the dial, it still wouldn't lift the tub drain so I lifted it up by hand, something I'd rather not touch, especially at a hotel/apartment.
-My husband also found toilet water on the floor in the morning. It is somewhat of a mystery since the kids experienced it before we were out of bed. It may have leaked at the base? Thankfully, the apartment didn't skimp on towels so there were plenty for the toilet and shower clean up.
Some other random things that weren't the way I would have preferred, considering the price being high, in my opinion, were:
-The lighting was very dim. I couldn't find what I wanted in my bag at night, even with the lights on, specifically in the master bedroom.
-Squeaky floors. Yes, the building is old and kept up and somewhat remodeled, but each step is a loud one with the old puzzle piece pattern wood floors.
-Bubble pillows. While the beds and linens seemed clean, the master bedroom mattress left a lot to be desired and the pillows were so bulging and bubble like, that I opted for a folded towel under my head instead. This seemed to be better than the pillow option, but not very soft or comfortable. We found one normal pillow in the wardrobe and gave it to the five year old.
-Free wifi. Between my husband and I and two devices, we were not successful in entering their complicated password.
Continued in part 3...?
While this apartment didn't "gross us out" or provide an unsafe place to sleep, I wouldn't return. Booking an apartment online is a tricky thing and that is why I love reading real reviews that give more feedback than just the pretty pictures and listing the factual amenities. If you are looking at this place because it sleeps up to 10, then like me, you already realize we don't have the wide source of offerings as a family with just a few people. The larger the family, the more limited the possibilities, especially since we needed just one night as we passed through to our ultimate destination. I appreciated that we could have a one night minimum at this apartment and was excited about finding a nice place for our family to land in Kraków and pretty confident from the photos and description. We had a long drive that day so planned ahead with the online self check in, knowing we wouldn't make it in time for normal business hours. We printed out the directions for the lock box, the map, etc. Feeling good and prepared ahead of time.
Upon locating the address location in a nice downtown block, as described, close and convenient, we were immediately discouraged by needing to circle for approx ten minutes to decide which sidewalk parking spot to risk. It was Saturday night at midnight. Everyone else was home and settled for the night. We didn't know if we would be ticketed, towed, etc. There was nowhere convenient for the kids and I to be dropped off while my husband kept looking because of the still busy flow of traffic. The entrance to the building is right on the sidewalk of a busy road. Once we squeezed in a likely illegal spot and trudged to the other side of the block, we were met with a locked door at the sidewalk. The online self check in didn't mention this. We only had a code to retrieve the key once inside. So we tried several code options before calling the after hours number where the lady basically said she couldn't help us because we had checked in online. Thankfully, someone exited the building and we were able to look for the described lockboxes. The restaurant mentioned in the directions is not labeled and the lockboxes didn't look like the pictures in the directions. So after much puzzled searching, we realized the lockboxes with push buttons are hidden behind black covers which need to be flipped up to see. A simple thing, and probably obvious if you've been there before, but ....
Vrbo space limit before we even get inside :(
We stayed in the apartment close to the Millennial coffee shop, which was recommended by friends of ours. Our expectations were fairly high and we have to say…they were exceeded!! Our children were so excited to visit Krakow for the first time and what a joy to be able to step out of your front door to feel that you are in the heart of Krakow. What a home away from home, just wonderful, a joy to return to after a long day out sightseeing. We most certainly will be back to stay again.
Just a really nice apartment in a great location. Very large living room with three decent sized bedrooms. Modern furnishings. It is a few blocks away from many nice pubs, cafes and restaurants. The staff were very attentive and kind. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone planning a short stay in Krakow.
I stayed here with my extended family who were visiting Krakow for the first time – we decided on an apartment so that we could come and go as we pleased and didn't have to eat out every night. We found the check-in to be really easy and very professional but it was the location that made such a difference. Not only did we get a taste of Krakow by visiting all the local shops but the apartment was so close to all the places we wanted to visit, it meant we could really make the most of being there. Reformed Temple Synagogue was one of our best attractions while in Poland. Who knew that reformed Jews had such a foothold in Krakow so long ago? It just goes to show that even assimilated Jews were subject to the same discrimination as others.
