We’re glad you chose to stay in the Captain’s Quarters! We’ve made every effort to create a comfortable, homey environment for your extended stay. Right away, you’ll notice there is a nautical feel to the place – an homage to Admiral Charles D. Grojean, the patriarch of our family. His colorful and illustrious career as a nuclear submariner is reflected in the décor, particularly in the upstairs family room where the memorabilia of the ships he commanded resides. The house itself was built in 1949 as a duplex. It has survived several modifications to the original floorplan, including the genesis into a single-family dwelling. Its most recent reincarnation came from our desire, as the nextdoor neighbors, to bring it back to something resembling a mid-century style home that fits with the neighborhood, and a dwelling we’re proud to share a boundary with. It has an open concept floorplan, two bedrooms downstairs, two up and another bedroom we converted to a laundry room. There's a spacious game/family room upstairs with a 50' TV and tile floors. The rest is hardwood. The big, screened in back porch is perfect for morning coffee or family gatherings. The home is sited within the award-winning Alamo Heights School District and within walking distance to fine restaurants and shopping. We, the owners, live next door. There is a garage apartment in the back where our 33 year old daughter resides. However, plantings that had not grown yet in these photos have created privacy. We will accept month - to - month or longer and the monthly rent will adjust down for longer stays. We are pet lovers and accept pets but want the right to approve the animals. There is parking for one car available in the driveway. A second car would need to park on the street.
