Gorgeous mountain view. Stunning sunsets from the top of Olympus Cove on the east side of Salt Lake City. Only minutes to get to downtown Salt Lake, the airport, and resorts, but in our quiet neighborhood at the base of Mt. Olympus, it feels like you are in a secluded mountain town. This completely remodeled, new apartment in our beautiful home is designed especially for guests. There is a private entrance at the ground level of the backyard, accessed by a wide sloping walkway. No stairs!
We recently completed an extensive remodel of our entire house. This apartment is all new, including new memory foam mattresses, linens, appliances and fixtures. We have decorated with our own beautiful photography, original artwork, as well as some beautiful vintage pieces. While we continue to work on the landscaping in the yard, we have taken great care to make sure you can find comfort, rest and ease when you visit this wonderful area. We have a lovely covered patio area at the entrance to the apartment, with a new gas grill. In addition to the dining area in the kitchen, there is a comfortable eating and sitting area for you to enjoy on the covered patio as well. We are just completing a new deck (October 2021) that is a few feet from the apartment entrance. It is a nice place to relax and enjoy the mountain view.
We have a new widened driveway, so there is off-street parking available. There is a sloping, paved walkway leading through the newly landscaped side yard from the driveway to the apartment entrance. No stairs. There is a small threshold from the hallway into the bedrooms. The kitchen includes plenty of dishes, cookware, utensils, coffee maker, and coffee. We know that traveling can be tiring, so we try to greet you with Utah made treats, snacks, tea or hot chocolate.
There is wifi provided, a nice TV with cable channels as well as HBO, and a dvd player with Netflix streaming. There is a workspace in the living area, and the second bedroom.
We have furnished the apartment with new beds, new memory foam mattresses, and all new linens.
In Bedroom #1, there is a King size bed and plenty of room, with a spacious closet.
Bedroom #2 has a queen size bed, an extra long twin bed, with a twin size trundle bed under it. If the trundle is needed, we can set it up at the base of the King size bed in bedroom #1, so there would be floor room around all the beds. The beds in the bedrooms are new, with new memory foam mattresses.
The kitchen is stocked with dishes, utensils and cookware, as well as utensils needed for using the new BBQ grill on the patio.
The new, full bathroom is stocked with plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, blow dryer, and first aid kit.
There is a laundry room in the apartment, which has a full size, front loading washer and dryer. As well as an iron and ironing board.
There is also a secure storage closet near the entrance of the apartment. There is a rack inside for storing skis and snowboards during your stay.
We have a few guidelines. We ask that only registered guests use the beds and laundry facilities. No smoking, no vaping, and no pets. Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Do not flush disposable wipes, not even flushable wipes. These damage the sewage system.
We ask that you keep the noise level down between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. We are fine with you having visitors, but ask that you not have parties or events unless you have arranged those with us.
The new beds with the new memory foam mattresses offer very comfortable sleeping for up to 6 guests. There is an extra charge of $5 per night each for the 5th and 6th guests. We do all we can to make your stay restful and comfortable.
The laundry room is available to guests during your entire stay, except on Wednesday from 7 am until 10 pm. We ask that you keep the apartment door to the laundry room closed during that time. During those hours, we access it through the back door. This only applies if your stay is longer than 7 days. Shorter stays will have complete access to the laundry room during their stay.
Interaction with guests
While we do like to travel as well, we are usually at home or close by. We might be able to welcome you personally, but have a coded lock on the entrance that we code with your phone number, so you will be able to enter whenever you arrive. We provide a guidebook with a list of recommendations for the area, and are always happy to answer specific questions about the area. We love all that Utah has to offer. We let our guests have privacy. And we will do all we can to help you have the info you need to have a wonderful stay.
The neighborhood...
We are at the top of Olympus Cove, in the most beautiful spot in Salt Lake Valley. It feels as though Mt. Olympus is in our front yard. We can see deer grazing on the mountain when we look up from our driveway. We love walking up our street, and stepping onto trails within minutes. It is quiet and secluded, and feels as though we are living in a peaceful canyon. Yet we are 15-20 minutes from the airport, downtown Salt Lake City, Park City, several ski resorts, gorgeous canyons, University of Utah campus, and many attractions. We love where we live.
Getting around
This lovely place has a secluded feel, but it is only minutes from all the major freeways in the metro area. So driving to any destination is very easy.
We especially love how close we are to a number of trailheads. several canyon parks, with many trails that are within walking distance. We especially love walking up our street to the path one block away that links to the Shoreline Trail, where we get a wonderful view of the entire Salt Lake Valley.
No matter where you walk or drive in our neighborhood, no matter what the season or time of day, there is a breathtaking view of Mt. Olympus and Olympus Cove. We never tire of it.
And, we are above the winter inversion smog! We love having clear air here.
Salt Lake City has a wonderful transit system, linking bus and trax and commuter rail. While the nearest bus station is a bit of a walk (about a mile from the house), it is easy to connect to all the mass transit from there.
We are close to a number of ski resorts, where you can experience the "Greatest Snow On Earth".
Park City is only minutes away, since we are so close to the I-80 entrance to Parley's Canyon.
You can drive to downtown Salt Like in as little as 15 minutes, and enjoy many attractions there, including Temple Square, the convention centers, galleries, museums, Symphony Hall, and many theaters and performance venues.
We are also very close to the University of Utah, RedButte Gardens, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Hogle Zoo and all the east side has to offer.
Many of the unique and gorgeous scenic areas of Utah are within driving distance of Salt Lake City. We love visiting them, and provide many recommendations and information about them.
