About Laurie and Tom Edes

We live 2 miles away by road and 1 mile away by canoe. We have lived on the lake for 12 years and love this little piece of Heaven.

Laurie and Tom Edes purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Laurie and Tom Edes chose Maine

We used to walk past this cottage on our morning walks. We loved the setting and had always said if it ever came on the market, we would love to buy it for a vacation rental to allow others the opportunity to enjoy a little piece of heaven at the lake. When it became available, we were delighted. When you walk in the door from the driveway, you have the sensation that you are on a houseboat, as the lake fills your view through the front windows.

What makes this cottage unique

The view when you walk through the door from the driveway is breath-taking. The loons frequently swim close to shore and serenade you at nightfall.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for the very nice weekend. Despite the rain, we had a wonderful graduation celebration for Tori and family & friends all fit in nicely between the dining and living rooms Sat. evening. Your cottage is very cozy. The bed downstairs is wonderful!!! Thanks again and hopefully I’ll be contacting you in the future for some other event.

The house was clean and very comfortable

Laurie was quick to get back to me when contacted. Only problem was not being able to connect to WiFi. Would rent again if we get up that way again.

Owner's Response: We were not aware that the guest had a WIFI issue, but have checked and it is working. The password is case-sensitive so that may have been the issue .

Pretty good

  • 3 of 5

There cottage is great

It is beside other residents so if you are looking to be by yourself outside. The greatest drawback is the water. You cannot drink the water, but bring your own. The beds are comfy and owners provide a lot of stuff for your cooking needs.. overall I would give it a 6 out of 10.

Our 5th trip up and once again happy happy happy

  • 5 of 5

This has now turned into a tradition for us. We fish in the spring and hunt in the fall, and just couldn't be happier. I love this cottage and love dealing with Laurie and Tom. They are so easy going and just a breeze to work with. The cottage is always clean, well stocked and its one of the only places that bring me true happiness. Rent this place!!! Plain and simple.....
