Lovely relaxing holiday in fantastic property

  • 5 of 5

Very happy with our holiday experience.

Started with a friendly welcome from Jackie when we arrived and she could not have been more helpful during our entire stay - not intrusive at all but available if needed.

The property is centrally located in Daglan, within easy walking distance to 2 restaurants & shop. Thoroughly recommend La Cantine - a very relaxed and enjoyable meal with owners that speak excellent English. Everything was provided and the kitchen was especially well equipped.

Weather was not that great during our stay so the large Barn was a huge bonus - very well equipped with all sorts of games and even a pool table. Open fire could be lit which meant that everyone could sit outside in the evenings.

The river is just a few yards away which meant that morning and evening walks with our dog invariably involved plenty of swimming from him!

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and would not hesitate to recommend the property.

Well maintained, amazing scenery. Tobacco barn was a big plus for the property, for relaxing evening in. Everything needed was either walking distance or a short drive. Many things to do, in Daglan at the lake and in the centre Sarlat. Would definitely go again.

excellent property, location fab.

The property was as advertised, very clean and well maintained. We had no reason to contact the owners as everything was as advertised, clean and well maintained. We would as a family have no hesitation in going back there, so yes we would recommend this property. The local restaurant was superb, the locals are very friendly. We had a day on the river. The Tobacco barn was a great plus, with family time and the BBQ.

Amazing, as description and photos.

The village where the barn is in Daglan is rural and has very beautiful scenery. The property itself was very well set out and very clean. The outside area, which includes a converted tobacco barn, in which we sat out in the sun and barbecued. The property is about 20 mins from Sarlat where there are many activities, like boat rides. The locals are friendly and the restaurant down the rad i would highly recommend. I enjoyed my time here immensely and would definitely go again.

Our Perfect Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect holiday we had in the perfect place. We arrived August 2015 to the village of Daglan where our holiday barn was situated, it was just picture postcard. The newly restored barn was simply a dream to be in, just the ticket for 8 people with four very generous sized double bedrooms, very roomy downstairs and a dream kitchen. It certainly had everything you could wish for. The owners made us very welcome and the barn, had everything you could possibly need plus the "outdoor sitting place" which really did make our holiday complete. Sat under the ‘protection from the very hot sun' but yet still outdoors, perfect…Also under cover was a large table & chairs for 8, and a great pool/snooker table. We made full use of the fabulous BBQ / Fire. There is also a decked patio with another table and sitting for 8 people, with deck chairs too. We were situated close to numerous chateaus and a nature reserve with beach, swimming and boat rides. The medieval town of Sarlet isn't far away where we totally enjoyed the markets. Situated at the end of the lane was a picnic area on the river edge complete with tables and BBQ area plus a lovely river setting for swimming, relaxing, walking, birdwatching. We saw heron, woodpecker and kingfisher. We enjoyed wonderful food at many wonderful restaurants. 4 of our group were thrilled because of the fab cycle routes. We hired bikes, (delivered to the door) from a nearby bike hire place. What more could you ask. We have already booked our return holiday for this coming year.

Dream holiday

  • 5 of 5

The perfect holiday in the perfect place of the picture postcard village of Daglan. AND in a wonderful restored barn complete with "outdoor sitting room" which made the holiday- apart from the wonderful weather. The barn was just perfect for five people with four double bedrooms and all the things you could wish for, The outdoor covered area is where we spent most of our stay-coverd from the searing sun but stil outside. And we made full use of the floor to ceiling BBQ. The owners made us very welcome and the barn, newly converted lack little. Situated at the end of the village is a picnic area complete with tables and BBQ are pus a dammed up river for swimming. Relax, walk, swim, birdwatch (we saw kingfishers) or travel down quiet country lanes too visit the numerous and very varied chateaus short ditances away. Or for hustle and bussle, Sarlet isn't far away. We enjoyed canoeing, cycling on a great cycle routes, wonderful food and varied bar side or outdoor restaurants. What more could you want. Can't wait to return.
