Villa Natura nestles high in the green hills of Montechiaro, surrounded by olive trees, and with spectacular views across the bay to Vesuvius, rising majestically above the blue waters.
The villa is in a perfect location for exploring the famous archaeological sites of the region, including Pompeii and Herculaneum; and is also ideally placed for exploring Sorrento, the Islands of Capri and Ischia and the beautiful Amalfi Coast.
When travelling to Villa Natura, you will need a car. The road narrows to around 2.30m at a distance of about 100m from the villa; so if you drive a larger vehicle, you may find you need to park, for free at this point, and walk the remaining short distance. Small cars can easily reach the gates of the villa, and park inside.
On arrival, you will be immediately struck by the expansive and beautiful gardens. Well stocked with fruit trees, shrubs and brightly coloured blooms, the garden is a delight for the eyes, acting as a fragrant backdrop to the wonderful sea views.
There is a covered gazebo, with a dining table for eight, the ideal place to dine al fresco. The above ground swimming pool measures 4m by 2.2m and is 1m deep, and is open from 2 May to 31 October. Sun loungers and a slide for children provide a lovely place to relax and enjoy the view.
The villa itself is on two levels and measures 220m2. On the ground floor, there is a spacious open plan living room, with a seating area, dining table and kitchen. There are two sets of double doors leading out to the garden, plus several windows; giving the room a light and airy feel, complimented by the simple white décor and tiled floor. There is air conditioning in the living room; plus central heating, chargeable at 4,50 Euros per M3.
The comfortable sofa stands before a charming fireplace, with a flat screen television hung on the wall. There is also an internet Wifi connection. The kitchen is traditionally tiled, with wooden doors, and has everything you need should you fancy rustling up a meal or two with the delicious local produce; including a gas hob, oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and mocha coffee maker. An attractive wooden dresser stands next to the large dining table.
From the living room you move into a room containing an authentic Italian pizza oven. The owner of Villa Natura is an accomplished pizza chef, and will be happy to demonstrate this art to your party when you book a pizza experience. This room also contains a washing machine, iron and ironing board. Doors lead outside onto your terrace, where you can relax on a comfortable sofa in the shade. There is also a downstairs bathroom, with a shower enclosure, wash basin, toilet, bidet and hairdryer.
Returning to the living room, a wide tiled staircase with a wooden balustrade leads to the first floor. Here you will find three bedrooms, all attractively decorated and with ample storage.
The first air-conditioned room has a double bed, plus an additional single bed. There are double doors onto a balcony with stunning sea views, plus a wardrobe, chest of drawers and armchair. The second room has a double bed, air conditioning and lovely views from a balcony. The third bedroom has a double bed, a fan and window, and all the furnishings you will need for a relaxing stay.
The upstairs bathroom is simply decorated in white and grey and has a bath with shower over, wash basin, toilet, bidet and hairdryer.
Villa Natura is a delightful villa in a peaceful and beautiful rural location. Whether you plan to relax with family or friends, or use the villa as a central base for exploring the many regional attractions, you will find Villa Natura to be a well-chosen home from home.
We shared the villa with three couples and had loads of space. It was fully equipped with TV, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, air conditioning..... etc and wine fridge! A car is essential and the last half mile is steep, windy and narrow: not for the feint hearted! A large car would not get to the property and would have to be parked at the church about 500m away down a steep hill. A Suzuki 'Jeep' is provided and I recommend this to avoid the daily challenge up and down the hill in your precious hire car!
The pool is refreshing and the qterrace dining area great with views to die for. There are two nearby supermarkets and The Patriarca restaurant was excellent and good value. We had access to vegetables and fruit in the garden. The only issues would be a lack of kitchen utensils and the third bedroom was small, without air-con and next to the road.
Overall a very good choice and highly recommended.
Wow! what a beautiful villa this was. It had everything that we could possibly need. It was very clean and spacious, perfect for our family of 5.
The view over to Vesuvius was outstanding, and something we shall never forget.
The owners took the time to meet us on our arrival and show us around which was very kind.
We booked the pizza experience with the owner also. What a fantastic experience! we were able to help make the dough and then had pizza served to us for dinner. I have never seen so much pizza! it tasted amazing too.
I would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone hoping for a quiet peaceful holiday.
Stefano Mazzotti
