Why Cath Davis chose Lanvallay
We fell in love with Dinan the first time we visited it, the combination of a walled medieval town with a bustling port is unique certainly in this part of France. There is always something to do - even if it's just watching the world go by from a creperie on the banks of the river. There are heaps of places to go and things to see in Brittany but nothing beats a lazy afternoon by the river with a good bottle of red ! Rue du Four is the ideal location to explore from or to just hang-out at. Sitting on the terrace in the evening sun can't be beaten.
What makes this House unique
This little house overlooks the river Rance and the port of Dinan. It is a fabulous base for walking and cycling as there are tow paths in both directions along the river. There are several restaurants in the port, a 2 minute stroll accross the bridge, so you don't need to drive anywhere in the evening. A more challenging walk is up the famous Rue du Jersual into the medieval town itself. This part of Britanny has a stunning coast line and beautiful and historic towns. Try Lancieux or Saint Jacut de la Mer as well as the wonderful towns of St Malo and Dinard
