Spacious 3 DB house with tavern, garden and panoramic terrace
- english, french, italian
The villa was built in 1992 by my husband's father who was born in this village and wanted to settle with his large family. Today, suns and daughters live and work in Florence, we come here whenever is possible to escape from the city to enjoy the country side, its scents and colors of all seasons.
Stefania/Angela purchased this Villa in 1992
Why Stefania/Angela chose Montespertoli
We do not come often enough in this house because all our family lives in different cities and countries, Luxemburg, Florence, countryside near Florence. We do not want to sell it since it's the house that my father in law made for all of us to gather whenever possible. After restructuring it we have thought of sharing it with whom, like us, love this part of the world.
What makes this Villa unique
The house is wide, bright and very functional. Unlike many tuscan houses furnished by the traditional tuscan style, we have furnished it in a modern style, but the warmth and light, as well as the area where it is located, make the ambience cozy and homely. All appliances are brand new and of the best quality. Comfort is guaranteed. The garden is fenced and therefore safe for children and animals to stay outside. The house is near all shops and services, but is quiet and tranquile because right at the doorway of the village and it's independent. The terrace, right at the top of the house, is a place where you may sunbaith or have breakfast next to your room, enjoying the view on the hills of the Poppiano Castle. It is at less than one hour drive from all main towns and villages of Tuscany.

This was the perfect location for our Tuscan getaway. A short drive to the train into Florence and a great launching point for our touring (only a 15 minute drive to the amazing Antinori Winery - a must see!). Angela was great in answering all my questions before we arrived and the house was completely stocked with food, spices and a nice welcome basket for my family. 2 bedrooms upstairs with a shared bathroom; main floor bedroom with private bathroom; and the kids loved being in the basement with 3 beds, their games area and another bathroom. Overall, the house was as advertised, very beautiful and very clean. We highly recommend this house! We were there in late June during a heat wave and the air conditioning worked wonderfully!
Place to be.
Perfect in all aspects.
Willem his wife and friend, have been the most wonderful guests! Friendly polite and communicative we sincerely hope to welcome them again one day ! Thank you Willem we wish you all the best and hope to see you again!
The place is very big and was very well stocked. It’s great for families. The owner was kind enough to leave us a celebration cake (we got married the night before) and a bottle of wine. Our only issues were that the upstairs and main level water pressure were very bad (the lower level shower was better), the lower level was very cold during the entire stay and we couldn’t find any tv stations in English (in the other places we stayed there were at least 2 channels in English.) The town is small but there are restaurants nearby and a small deli. The view is beautiful! Overall it’s a great place to stay in the Tuscan region!
I was very glad that Nicole choose my house for the days after her wedding in Tuscany. It has been a pleasure to host her her husband and mother. In regards to the water pressure it was said at check in that a little attention must be payed like not taking shower at the same time and that hot water takes some time to get to the showers upstairs. It is a country house after all not a hotel. In regards to the tv channel I have never considered of putting another arial as the great majority of people coming to my house use their computer with our high speed wi-fi but tv has language settings so programs may be watched in their original language. But after Nicole's suggestion I am taking into consideration of providing a decoder so more international channels maybe reached.
We hope Nicole and her husband will come back and visit again with a better and sunny weather !!
Best of the Best for seeing Florence and Tuscany
If you are traveling by car this is the home for you. It is well located for seeing Florence, Tuscany and the Hill Towns. The tram station for travel into Florence is a short 25 minute drive. This enables you to unwind in the beauty of the countryside after a day of crowds in Florence. The home is large, comfortable, well decorated with all of the necessary items for being an outstanding home away from home. We were given several options for special events. We chose to have a meal ready upon our arrival. Amazing food and the Italian hospitality from Angela was experience we will never forget. The was a small issue with a shower and Stefania was there in half hour.
We thank Kathleen for her appreciation and for spending her time while still on holiday to write such good comments. She and her son have been the most great guests!
For the first time in 4 years of hosting, Kathy has been the first guest to fully respect the house, not only for the cleaning, after all we understand our guests are on holiday and they are allowed to relax and let go, but from leaving the fridge absolutly clean and emtpy (leftovers are always left) to a perfect rycilcling of wastes and leaving kitchen immaculate with not even one glass out of place, she really deserve a golden medal ! Prompt on comunication, and last but not least, a lovely lady we hope to see and host again.
Wonderful countryside home
We had a great time at the Holiday house in San Quirico in Collina. It was very clean and nicely decorated. There was a welcoming bottle of wine and fresh fruit and some breakfast items to get us started. There was a wonderful view from the 2nd floor terrace and a great spot to watch the sun set. The house is centrally located, so it allowed us to visit many different cities and hill towns. We highly recommend this property. Thank you Stefania for opening your home to our family and thank you Angela for your support during our stay.
Having Joann, her husband and cousins was a pleasure for me. Great hosts, prompt in communication, respectfull of the house rules, they left the house in perfect conditions. I hope to have them again at my house, hosts like them are to be recommanded to all !
A wonderful home in beautiful Chianti.
We were so happy with our stay at San Casciano in Val di Pesa. The house was charming with very modern touches. The kitchen is well appointed and included salt, pepper, olive oil and spices (my husband is a chef so this was a great bonus for us!). In the village there is a small grocery to buy local meats, cheeses and breads. The small garden area was perfect for morning coffee and dining al fresco.
Angela, our host, could not have been more helpful. We had a very trying travel day with numerous traffic accidents and delays making our arrival several hours later than planned. Angela made arrangements to meet us at a later time without complaint. She even stocked the refrigerator with supplies for breakfast, had fresh fruit on the counter and a bottle of wine for us which was much needed!
The location was perfect for our day trips to Sienna, Pisa, Florence and Lucca. If you are interested in food and wine Angela can give you some fantastic suggestions. She helped us book a day with a local truffle hunter which was one of our favorite experiences in Italy.
Thanks to Leslie for taking time to write such good comments and very glad she, her husband and mother in law enjoyed their stay at my house and appreciated the garden. It was a pleasure to have them at my house and having a chef who appreciated our kItchen iT iS really a bonus! They have been great hosts and I thank them for their suggestions. I hope to have them back one day.
The villa can host up to 10 people and 1 baby in three comfortable double bedrooms, one of which can be converted in twin, and in the taverna with one french bed and three comfortable camp beds to add if necessary. Besides, various sizes of baby bed and cot can be put in two of the bedrooms. The house stands in front of the hill of Poppiano, and in the lovely terrace upstairs one can enjoy the very panoramic position looking at the country side of the florentine province rich of vineyards, olive trees and groves, typical of the Chianti area. We are in SAN QUIRICO IN COLLINA (please make sure you select the right San Quirico on your navigator and google map) in the province of MONTESPERTOLI and in front of the Castello di Poppiano, residence of the Guicciardini family and their Wine Cellars.
Besides offering a splendid panorama on the Chianti hills, our house is an excellent starting point to reach in a short time all of our famous art cities: Florence, Greve in Chianti, San Giminiano and Siena, Lucca, Pisa and Livorno.
Many are the feasts and celebrations around the region at all times of the year where you can taste our typical products like pecorino cheese, the renouned red wine of the Frescobaldi and Ricasoli, our home made sweets and pasta, and visiting the most beautiful Cellars of the Chianti first amongst all, the great architectural work of the Antinori Cellars which are just few minutes away form us. You can stop at the renowned bakery of Montespertoli with its mill which grinds the ancient grains of our tradition.
By the little village of San Quirico in Collina, only few steps from home, you may find: a delicatessen, a butcher with its most excellent quality meat and cheeses, a tobacco shop and bar, a news-paper and stationary shop, a mini-market just few steps away from the house, a chemist, a hair saloon, a greengrocer. In front of the parish church a kinder garden for your children. Nearby going downhill, the pretty little village of La Ripa where is the Horse Center with its riding school. For horse riding you may also find the Equitation Center of Scandicci, 15 Km further down on the way to Florence. Make sure you don't miss the experience of jumping on to an old-fashion horse-drawn wagon: the 'Cocchieri del Chianti' (Chianti's coachmen) whit whom you can take off and discover the sweet rolling Tuscan hills and their fascinating history and culture of the area at the slow pace of the horse-drawn wagon. You will visit castles, historic country homes, and rustic farmhouses. Taste the renowned local wines while visiting ancient cellars. Have lunch in a charming villa enjoying traditional Tuscan dishes. If instead you wish to spend a day by the sea, you can do it in a day trip. Also for The Cinque Terre you could hire our trusted driver who can take you there and back so that you can enjoy your day relaxing and not worrying about the driving, parking and so on.
For Golf lovers, The Club "Ugolino", is only a few minutes drive.
