We are 26 minutes to the south entrance according to driving notes in my review from a tenant as well as our experience driving into south entrance which is the entrance that has the giant grizzly seqoias. The yosemite train is also outside the park on the way in from our house on hi way 41, before the south entrance.

Behind the house is a school yard, which you cannot see but can hike to the top of in 5 minutes and cross over, for a football field, baseball field. tennis court, playground etc and occasional adult yoga class by a previous neighbor gym teacher of mine. WE have yoga one mile in town as well in case you want a local activity as well as the Mono Indian museum is catty corner behind us in 1/10 mile.

their reservations so we can work with each person or family and give special terms based on needs and budgets. Come see us at our VRBO in La Jolla, CA, Hawaii and Yosemite.

Why Liza Szabo chose Yosemite Area

Minutes from Bass Lake and the beauty of the Sierra Nevada leading into Yosemite National Park. One mile to town for gas, groceries, post office, coffee and shops yet in the mountains bordering nearby river and swimming, easy to get to. Three local waterfalls and three lakes, 2 miles, 5 miles and 12 miles from house.

What makes this house unique

Bass Lake nearby and just a short drive into Yosemite National Parks South gates, in 26 minutes posted by renters on our reviews and our experience also. Many amenities, stores, bar and grill, dining out, post office one mile from house.. Close to Badger Pass and China Peak ski areas. Three local waterfalls in 7 to 10 miles, Cascadel, Angel Falls and Whiskey falls offering local hiking and off the beaten road track no crowds or less as known more to locals who know the inside and outside of the Yosemite by way.

Guestbook comments from the owner

WE loved the house and the area. We are vacation rental maids in Los Angeles and needed a get away, we work so hard. Our kids loved it since they could walk to the ball parks and swing sets behind the property but is hidden and quiet. The views out were better than the other houses we stayed at in past years, which had none. The trees and rolling hills made a private spot yet just a few hundred feet to a perfect main road.We visited local falls, like cascadel of a friend of the owners and spent time at the river and drove into the park in 26 minutes, as well as we are only 5 miles to the bass lake dam where we walked our dogs and had a big sky , beauty, restaurants, hiking and more to do than even inside the park. This house was clean and had good vibes as well as not having to drive to everything inside the 90 square mile park which we found stunning but you have to drive inside to anything, this house we could play at the museum, rivers, lakes, domes and hike, the outside inside park, yosemite by way. We found the owners through VRBO and were impressed to find it clean, since I am a clean freak, and we visited this home many times. I told the owner she could post my notes as we dont get online that often, so busy cleaning other vacation rentals, and this one was CLEAN and beautiful with lots to do, great for kids and families to hang out without having to drive all day.

AMAZING weekend getaway - Beautiful house and Breath-taking views!!!

  • 5 of 5

After just moving to CA from NYC, Liza's Bass Lake house was the perfect weekend getaway from the big city. The check-in/check-out process was seamless. Liza and her house manager Steve were friendly, attentive, professional and informative during the process leading up to our arrival and were accessible via phone/text throughout our stay if we needed anything. They were even kind enough to push back our check-out time to help accommodate us after a travel delay caused us to arrive a lot later than we planned. The house was clean, well-equipped with everything we needed, safe (alarm system was a huge plus), and in a perfect location! The property was quiet and scenic and a short drive to the beautiful Bass Lake! We had breakfast on the beautiful porch overlooking the breath-taking mountains; hiked on the gorgeous Bass Lake trails along side incredible waterfalls; cooked in the amazing, new kitchen and just had an all-around perfect weekend. We could not have asked for a better weekend and hope to come back to visit! Thank you Liza for everything!!!

Family Weekend Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at Yosemite Elegant - Bass Lake Area Home for two nights last weekend. The caretakers were wonderful, they took the time to welcome us and answer all our questions upon arrival. He also tried to help us when we lost WIFI and called him the next day. The home was clean and very spacious yet cozy. Cleanliness is my number one priority when looking for a place to stay because I have young children. Beds are placed very strategically throughout the home to accommodate a large group.

The kids had lots of fun choosing where to sleep. Amenities throughout the house are adequate. All you need to bring is food/groceries if cooking there.

The home is not too far from Oakhurst if you need groceries, gas etc. We were hoping to explore the surrounding areas and play ground behind the home on foot but it was raining.

All in all, we had a great time and will most definitely be returning.

Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Private Acres Beautiful Home and Local Fun

  • 5 of 5

Our family! Spring Break early!. We couldnt have asked for a more peaceful and pretty home with easy access to the main road as well as hanging out in the property with WI FI, Cable TV and gourmet Kitchen and Temperpedic Master bed was awesome for me and my husband who are quite picky about beds. There were two rivers nearby one we walked to in 10 minutes, the other at the nearby ranger station in about a mile and a local town very cute with groceries and we took a yoga class too! The home had space inside and outside. Green rolling hills now in spring after much rain they had up here! we loved getting to Bass Lake and the rivers and waterfalls were bursting. Inside the home we had comfortable beds, simple but elegant layout of furnishings, so we could view outside from the dining area, kitchen and living room. My kids loved the extra bed in the living area so they could throw their back backs down and kick back and play board games or TV while we prepared food in a stainless steel gas, gourmet kitchen stove and oven, with serving glass counter and black gorgeous granite. Better than most cabins as it had all wood floors, nice mats (no dusty or old carpets) stone and slate and granite abound. We would love to have a cabin to come to every year and instead of having to own we can come enjoy this location. We would like to come back in summer or september to try out all the boating on Bass Lake nearby which is really going to be amazing being more full and a new dam. We used to stay on the other side but this has the lake access and park in only 1/2 an hour, however we like going east on 225 to some local fishing and off the beaten path at Redinger lake. The owner and caretakers are very friendly and helpful at instructions for the house and things to do nearby.

I am surprised at anything but a great rating for the deal this beautiful home is, much more than a cabin! a loving home that is being shared with us. We know what it takes we used to have a cabin in Tahoe, but now having sold it find it such a blessing to rent other owners gems.

My wife and I had an amazing time. The house was perfectly set up for way more people than my wife and me. Very comfortable bed, and an amazing kitchen. We definitely never wanted to leave. Definitely recommend this house for any kind of family vacation.

Beautiful home, great location

  • 4 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. Great location; a short drive to town and a short drive to the snow. Bed weren't too comfortable and the floors were a little dirty, but other than that it was a great stay. We are already planning to return in the summer.

Cozy vacation rental and beautiful secluded location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this property in North Fork! The house had everything we needed! Beautiful fully equipped kitchen that we did a lot of cooking in. The beds were very comfortable and everything was neat and clean when we arrived. I can't wait to go back, it was the perfect distance from a snow park we visited just past oakhurst and the kids had a blast! We are from Fresno, so it was a quick hop, skip, and a jump away to a nice mountain retreat. Definitely recommend!
