On the second floor of an historical building in the heart of the most beautiful and elegant part of Venice, we propose you a sophisticated and comfortable apartment.
Located in a magnificent and finely restored XVI Century venetian building, bordered by nice, quiet canals and bridges,
Tulip offers a charming and comfortable accomodation in the hearth of Dorsoduro district.
This area, even though central and close to all the interesting places to visit in the Old Town, is not the usual mass tourist target, it still preserves the charm and sensations of time gone by, it is considered the most elegant and exclusive quarter of Venice.
Penetrating the quiet narrow streets, “calli”, around the building one discovers the “campi” (the characteristic small squares of Venice) with their old fashioned flavour and the small family-run restaurants which offer menus of exclusive special dishes of local tradition.
The apartment is all on a single floor and is easy to get to as the nearest “Vaporetto” stop is a 2 min walk away, and the stairway is beautiful, wide and easily accessible.
Wide windows brghtening all the ambiences faces on canals, bridges, gardens and offer rare beauty lookouts.
At once the wellcomig guest’s entrance gives a perfect idea of the delicate venetian luxe binding the building and the apart itself. Carrara marble floors and stairs are framed by ironworks, exposed old brick walls and ceiling beam, all exalted by a mix of artificial and natural lights.
Andrew purchased this apartment in 2009
Passed down through the generations.
Delicate venetian luxe and comfort with fascinting views from every window.

Freshly restored apart, good size, finely furnished. We found everything as described. We slept on the main double bedroom facing the canal, fabulous. Our teenager childs slept in one bedroom each. Windows views are great, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms. The living area also faces the canal, has good sofas and a large wooden table for dinners. We loved to have all our meals at home (saved lot of money). Due to kitchen facilities and equipement cooking was easy and agreable. The apart was cleand and well appointed, good wi-fi, no drawbacks at all. Also the location is perfect. The area is really charming and poorly touristic, out of hustle and bustle of the Saint-Mark. We really felt in Venice. Vaporetto stop is just 2 min far, perfect to quickly come back when tired. The Saint_Mark area is just 5-8 min walking across Accademie Bridge, Rialto is at the same distance. Everything close, comfortable sight-seeing. Nothing better, I guess. Definitly reccomended.
If you want to be able to get away from the noise and crowds of the touristy areas, yet still be close enough to visit all of those places, this is the place to stay. The Dorsoduro area is more of a neighborhood setting so it is quiet, lots of locals, and some great places to eat are all within minutes of the apartment. The apartment is located on a quiet canal, and as the pictures show, you have excellent views from all of the windows, including the windows in the kitchen. This was my "Dream Trip to Venice" and to be able to throw open my bedroom windows each morning to the quiet canal below, made it all the more special.
You are a 5 minute walk from the Ca' Rezzonicio Vaportetto stop, with no bridge to cross with your luggage. The Zattere (and that Vaporetto stop) is a short 10 minute walk with 2 bridges to cross. Campo San Barnaba and Campo San Margherita are pretty much around the corner, especially if you know how to take the short cut to Campo San Margherita (first left out of the apartment and over the bridge). The entire area is great to just wander around and happen upon local restaraunts, Gelateria's as well as Squero di San Trovaso, the local Gondola boatyard. There is also an excellent Wine Bar across the canal from the boatyard, (Cantione Gia’ Schiavi) that serves some amazing Cicchetti and is always busy with locals - a sure sign that it is good!
Everything in the apartment was exactly as depicted in the photos as well as the description on the website. There was a small mis-understanding about bed configuration on arrival, but a phone call by Giamba who had met us on arrival at the Vaporetto stop, and within 5 minutes, 2 gals came to take care of it. The check in process was quick and easy, as was the check out process. Mrs. Irene, our contact was always available by phone and/or text.
There are 3 flights (US) of stairs to get to the apartment - if you have trouble with stairs, or have a disability, keep this in mind. I have MS, and there were times that I had to take it quite slow, but none-the-less, it would not deter me from staying here again. The Wifi was quite strong and available 95% of the time. There were a few times when it was a bit slower, but that was usually in the early morning when more people in the building were trying to access it was my assumption.
I would certainly recommend this property to others and am planning on staying here again next year.
This nice apart is located in Dorsoduro area, at Ponte de l’Avogaria, few steps away from Campo San Barnaba square. We really enjoyed cafés and restaurants there, there are a lot. The square is beautiful and quiet, not too many tourist as per Saint-Mark.
Walkings for visiting were easy and pleasant, really nice area full of small chuches and unexpected lookouts. We usually walked to the Saint_Mark through Accademia bridge, less than 15 minutes because of the bridge, but we also could catch the vaporetto at San BAsilio, less than 1 minute, and be there in 10
or at Ca’Rezzonico stop on the grand canal, less than 3 min., and be there in 5.
Perfect for easy coming back when tired.
Rialto's bridge was 10-12 min walking.
The building where is this apart is astonishing for its beauty.
My husband is an architect and he really appreciated it .
The apart is an easy 2nd floor with nice marble stairs.
It is large and quiet, features are de luxe and furnitures absolutely of high level.
The kitchen is fully equipped and we had the most part of our meals there, comfortably accommodated
on the table in the living.
We asked to set the second bedroom on 2 twin for our sons and we found it correctly done.
Beds are quality and comfortable.
Classific of what I better appreciated: 1) Bathrooms, really de luze wide and clean; 2) Views, specatcalar over canals from every window; 3) Fully equipped kitchen to prepare meals for my family.
Service was perfect, kind helpful people.
The location is great: few steps from beautiful Campo San Barnaba, Dorsoduro district. The area is not massive touristic and we enjoyed to walk around discovering churches, gardens and small restaurants of local tradition. We also visited the whole Venice: the apart’s position is in fact both no massive touristic and close to everything, just 3 min walking from the Grand Canal waterbus leading u everywhere in the Town (most important for coming back when tired) and easy walking distances from Rialto’s and Saint_Mark.
The apart is de luxe featured and fully furnished, overall the kitchen, we had the most part of our meals at home, really easy. We had our daily shopping at Ponte dei Pugni, in Campo San Barnaba, where there is a traditional boat selling fruit and vegetables. Many shops and markets in the nearby (good backery 100 meters far). My bed was perfec, hard but not too hard.
What we found fantastic are apart’s windows views, showing Venice as me and my sons always imagined: sweet quiet canals crossed by bridges and surrounding churches and palaces.
Finally due to this accommodation we had a great time in Venice.
Thank u to the Owner letting us have a perfect holiday.
Group of 5 adults. We spent the New Year in this beautiful apartment. We asked for another property by the same Owner but it was no more available. Andrew (the Owner) proposed us this beautiful apart, telling us it would have been advertised soon. We have been surprised by the quality, tastefull features of the apart and, overall, by the charming views we had from every window. The atmosphere was really venetian, what we were looking for our New Year celebrations.
The location is perfect: close to everything but no massive tourstic (really important for us). We loved to walk and have a coffee in Campo San Barnaba open-air cafès and also, by night, in campo Santa Margherita where are the only venetian live-music cafes and lot of quiet night-life ( people told us Campo Santa Margherita is the main meeting point of Venetians, students, few tourists). We enjoyed it!!
We walked to the Saint-Mark every day, just 10 minutes through Accademia bridge but when tired we walked 2 minutes to Ca'Rezzonico waterbus on the grand canal and we reached Saint-Mark square in 3 minutes. Really comfortable.
The apart itself has a perfectly equipped kitchen (we had all our meals at home), comfortable quality beds, good wi-fi and nice bathrooms. Finally, thanks to this perfect accommodation we had a great stay in Venice.
