About Anne Parsons

Tim and Anne Parsons have been overseeing the building work at Ravenala which has taken the best part of three years. We have added an extra bedroom, a small cottage, three water tanks, the veranda and the swimming pool. It has been an unforgettable experience with many highs and lows, frustrating at times, but very rewarding, helped by all the builders and the many friends we have made in Bequia. We enjoyed it so much that we now remain at Ravenala in the caretakers cottage and are discreetly on hand to make sure that everything runs smoothly.

Let us know if you have any particular requirements, or need to organise a special occasion, or a boat trip and we can put things in motion.

Jal, our Assistant Manager has been with us from day 1 and holds the fort when we are away, he is also good with computers. Chiney and Kerry are in charge of housekeeping and Parties!

Anne Parsons purchased this villa in 2009

Why Anne Parsons chose World

We first sailed to the island in 1999 and were captivated by the old world charm of Bequia and its open and friendly people, a rare find in this fast moving world.

We chose Ravenala mainly because of its stunning views and the fact that it is so well placed to see all the visiting ships and yachts in the harbour and the lights at night. Also the proximity of community life in the village at Lower Bay, and of course the marvellous beach and restaurants so close, a perfect spot.

What makes this villa unique

The house when we bought it was a well loved home which had been thoughtfully and solidly built with many delightful details such as stained glass windows Kitchen cabinets carved with propellers and a beautiful garden in over 3 acres of woodland. Although then quite small we saw that with extension, more water tanks and a pool the views from the new verandah would be amazing across the beaches of Princess Margaret and Lower Bay to Port Elizabeth. It also had complete privacy, with only one other house on the road from the beach.

Guestbook comments from the owner

When you rent a home in a place you've never been, from people you only speak to via email, there is bound to be some level of uncertainty. If you are considering Ravenala, you can put any worries you have to rest. Tim and Anne are the epitome of perfection when it comes to hosts/house managers. From the moment they picked us up at the airport we felt perfectly at ease. After showing us around the property they let us settle in and then made a scrumptious welcome dinner. The following day Tim gave us a tour of the island, pointing out everything you need to know and stopping a few places so we could pick up some groceries (they'll also shop for you in advance). Throughout the duration of our stay, there was never a question or request that wasn't met with speed and a smile. If you only got the house, that would be reason alone to stay at Ravenala, but Tim and Anne are the icing on an already amazing cake. In terms of the house itself, the view is absolutely spectacular. The pictures don't do it justice. The porch and pool area serve as a fantastic place to enjoy morning coffee or an afternoon beverage while you occasionally gaze out across the bay and pinch yourself to confirm that it's all real. The location, while up a moderate hill (can't get those views on the ground after all), is only a 10 minute walk down to what in our opinion was Bequia's nicest beach. While we did not take them up on it, the house offers a car on site that can be rented for 50 USD a day. We opted for taxi's most of the time, rotating between Noel and Rudy. The rooms were all well taken care of with air conditioning, screens, TVs, safes and amazing views. The kitchen had everything you'd possibly need, including a propane grill out back. As I sit back in snowy NYC and reflect on our trip, I have nothing but fond memories of our stay in Bequia. I would highly recommend the island and the lovely home that Tim and Anne have built.

Absolutely beautiful, stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have had the most relaxing holiday at Ravenala. The house is gorgeous and even better than the photographs. We could stay on! It is hard to leave the house as the views are incredible and always changing. The children have loved seeing the boats coming and going. The pool has been lovely for adults and children as so close to the house. Anne and Tim have been great hosts , nothing has been too much trouble. Highly recommended, we will be back.

Breathtakingly Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just left Ravenala on our first trip to Bequia. The home sits on a hill overlooking the most breathtaking view you'll ever see. The infinity pool and outdoor space provide many sun-filled, fun-filled days of relaxing but there is plenty of shade to lounge. The home is well equipped and comfortable with a beautiful master suite and shower that overlooks the bay. Most important are the wonderful managers, Anne and Tim Parsons that take care of your every need.

Ravenala House is situated at the far end of Lower Bay in a secluded and private location set in woodland gardens. Panoramic views across the harbour to St Vincent with ships and yachts coming and going. We are just a few minutes walk to the beach with bars and restaurants close by. For such a small Island Bequia has many good Restaurants often with live music. The annual Music Festival is in January and the Regatta at Easter, both lively and fun. Visit the Tobago Cays to swim with turtles and sail to Mustique which is close by, take sailing and diving trips, visit the Volcano, waterfalls and hiking trails and botanical gardens of St Vincent.
