Elegant apartment in the center of Florence, in the district of Santo Spirito and San Frediano, 500 meters from the Old Bridge.
Ideal to experience the city on foot. Comfortable and spacious (140 square meters), can accommodate six people.
It 'a typical Tuscan apartment, with ceilings and wooden floors. Stylishly decorated and comfortable, will offer you relaxing moments and make you feel at home. E 'consists of a large double bedroom, large closet, private bathroom with shower, a second double bedroom and two bunk beds, a third bedroom' study ', with a comfortable sofa bed, a small library, a computer connected internet and a second bathroom. Then a very large living area with sofas, dining table, TV and wet bar. A fully equipped kitchen and a lovely dining room adjacent. It 'so well located that will allow you to walk around the whole city. It has a lovely small terrace inside the roof, which will offer pleasant moments outdoors.
The apartment is located on the river bank, in the heart of two of the oldest quarters of Florence: the Holy Spirit, with its church from the famous facade and San Frediano, with its quaint cafes. Very close to Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens, on the left side of the Arno, simply cross the Bridge Carraia and find a few minutes from the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria. Just 300 meters from Ponte Vecchio. Perfect place to enjoy the city on foot.
Our family of 9 (ranging in age from 14 to 82) stayed here in June and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. There was plenty of room– we never felt crowded as the apartment is very open and spacious. The wood-beamed ceilings and furnishings give the apartment a warm, Tuscan feel and the beds were extremely comfortable. We also had plenty of storage space for putting away clothes. The place was impeccable – there was not a speck of dust or dirt to be found anywhere! There are two bathrooms – one with a stand-up shower and another very large bathroom with a tub and hand-held shower.
The apartment is located in a beautiful area just a ½ block to the river. There are many restaurants, bars, cafe's and gelato shops within walking distance. There is also a little convenience store right outside that we frequented often for drinks and snacks. The location can easily satisfy those wanting to experience Florence nightlife and also those preferring a quiet night in to just relax.
The building was also very secure as one must enter through 2 locked doors before getting to the apartment. Therefore, my elderly mother had no qualms about staying there by herself when we went out for a bite to eat or gelato.
While we didn’t have a chance to meet the owner, Sabina, she was very accessible via email or phone and made sure everything was perfect and in order for our stay in Florence. Her assistant, Ms. Andrea, is a lovely woman who hopped on her bike and was at the apartment within minutes when we lost power late one evening (it was totally our fault – we had too many appliances running at once!).
We had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Florence!
The actual property has a really great location with lots of restaurants and shops near by. We were able to walk everywhere and really enjoy this beautiful city. The appartment was fine for two couples but I don't know how you have too many more people unless you all want to sleep together. There are bunk beds in a room with a double bed so that might work for little kids. We didn't cook at the apartment but the availability was there. When we got there a woman met us and let us in. She was in a big hury to leave so we were left with "well we can figure this out-we have traveled quite a bit." We had no idea what to do with the garbage we accumulated and then looked under the sink and there were three large bags of recycling from other guests-to the brim. We found some nice neighbors and they showed us where to put that down the street. We had no idea the $260 a night apartment did not come with anything-no soap, 1/2 roll of toilet paper, no paper towels-nothing and no real directions on how things work-just a handout with a couple of sentences about some restaurants. We had no idea when check out even was. I texted the owner and she never got back to me so we just flew by the seat of our pants. We stayed 4 days then headed to Rome to another VRBO and then realized what services are really offered.
The location of this apartment could not be better. All of Florence is walkable! The restaurants nearby are all local and authentic and just a quick walk over the bridge and your in the bustle and heart of downtown. Every monument and museum is walkable. Couple minor things to note: a/c is minimal at best especially in the middle of summer and the patio does not have a view. Aside from those items it was wonderful!
The apartment is very nice, spacious. We had a lot of space for our family of 6. It is very well located, we could easily walk to all the sites ( Duomo, Galleria dell'Accademia, Ponte Vecchio, etc). Andrea, who greeted us, was very welcoming and friendly. She was always available for us and gave us great tips.
The only negative was the electricity which kept stopping despite our efforts to reduce our use of electrical equipment. We learned on the last day that we could not use two equipments at the same time (eg air conditionning and blow dryer). This should have been explained clearly at the beginning and would have saved us a lot of time.
Our party of 5 consisted of a veteran Florence traveler and she thought this apartment was an excellent value for Florence. The apartment had two large bedrooms and two bathrooms. It easily accommodated our party of 5. The unit is located about 1/2 block from the river. The kitchen was large enough to cook any meal required, but we had most of our meals out. There are too many good restaurants close to the apartment to pass up. Also an excellent gelato stand across the street.
We walked to all the sites in Florence with no problem. Sabina and staff were excellent. Also the apartment was air-conditioned which was great for the hot days.
This is a great place for a large family or two couples.
We are a family of 6 (parents + 4 older kids) and everyone had a great time. I am gonna give it 5 stars because overall things worked great for us, but if there were half stars would prob give a 4.5 for just a few smallish things (see below)...
- the location is perfect - literally across the bridge from downtown and just 10-15 minute walk from all important sites
- Sabina and Ms. Andrea are wonderful, competent and attentive
- the apartment itself if great, everything worked fine and the big living room / dinner table is great to hang out in at nite
Just a few minor 'cons':
- there seems to be a elec bottleneck so if you have too many appliances running, the main switch trips off. not a big deal once you know it and manage what is on/off at the same time.
- well the apartment is 3 bedrooms, but the 3rd bedroom is technically a sitting area / entry to the other 2 bedrooms. it was OK, and there was plenty of bed space in the other 2 anyway. we put our best sleeper in that room...
- i would consider the fridge more like a cooler box which didn't really keep things 'cold' but cool, and it also doesn't have a freezer, if that is important to anyone. seems like some space constraints here.
BUT overall the place is wonderful and i would totally recommend it !
