About the property

House,3 Bedrooms 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Peace, privacy and comfort are offered at the Ocean Pool House, Princeville, on Kauai’s stunning North Shore. Situated on a cul-de-sac and centrally located, yet with a tucked away feeling, nature’s beauty surrounds the Ocean Pool House. Hear the crashing waves below this 3 bedroom (King, Queen, 2 Twins or King), 2 bath, private vacation getaway. Watch the waves roll across the ocean, enjoy the surrounds of the tropical ravine and landscape, and the albatross that surround the house as they court, nest, and raise their chicks. Perched on the ocean bluffs the Ocean Pool House is a subtly elegant home located in a quiet neighborhood setting.

The Ocean Pool House is well equipped and conveniently outfitted with more than is needed to enjoy this home away from home. The bathrooms have fresh tile work and granite accents and the master bedroom opens out to a private and comfortably furnished courtyard setting. With full kitchen and dining area, comfortable den with TV/cable/DVD and high speed internet, this house has room for all to be together and many comfy corners to spread out as well. These spacious living areas open out to the poolside & barbeque living space with the refreshing view and tropical breezes. Relaxation and enjoyment are easily inspired beside the generously sized, beautifully tiled, salt water, private swimming pool and adjacent hot tub. The pleasing esthetics of the slate granite poolside are complimented by the gas barbecue just waiting to grill your “catch of the day”.

Tropically inspired and well manicured, this is a great neighborhood for taking family walks, bike rides, or going out for an early morning run.

Located in Princeville, on the beautiful north shore of Kauai, the Ocean Pool House is convenient to restaurants, shopping, Makai and Prince golf courses, tennis courts, children’s park, spa and other health services.

Anini Beach, Kalihiwai, Hanalei Bay, Lumahai and Tunnels beach are all just minutes away by car, along with many other prominent landmarks and world class views, well worth visiting.

This could become your new family tradition!

Great home with all needed amenities

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a home rental in Princeville since we were planning a stay in Kauai for 2.5 weeks. This home was perfect and service even better. The house was spotless upon our arrival and the location was exactly what were looking for. A nice quiet and secluded beach a short walk away. Pool and hot tub were well maintained and the warm outdoor shower was a nice touch.

The coffee pot provided was leaking and immediately we called the property manager (Samantha) who promptly brought us a new one the next day. We appreciated not being without our morning coffee!! Overall, great experience and we would highly recommend it to our friends. Property is kept up well and professionally managed by a service minded company

A home with everything in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

3 couples enjoyed a week at this lovely home in this quiet Princeville neighborhood. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, view to the ocean, and the mountains beyond. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that we were also in an albatross nesting area and it was interesting to learn about the birds and their behaviors. The house is also a 5-10 minute walk to a beautiful secluded beach area which we discovered a few days in. The house was incredibly clean with comfortable beds and furniture and we found everything we needed. The north end of Kauai is beautiful and found ourselves making easy day trips. Hanalei was our go to for amazing fresh dinners. Overall, we enjoyed our stay immensely and the house had everything we could need and was spacious and comfortable. We just won’t be able to get back there soon enough!

Pool with a view-Aloha

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfectly situated on a cliff in Princeville. The beach is not easy to get to but the pool really made the house worth it. You will likely need to drive to a beach, several are really close to the house. The house is a bit older but has a great layout. It allowed for a game area, tv watching area, and reading room;this really allowed all of us to relax our own way.

The kitchen was very well stocked and grocery store was an easy trip down the street. Our favorite activities were star watching and swimming.

Great vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here over Thanksgiving and it was the perfect spot for us. The house was clean and well kept and we felt right at home. Kids loved running around the house and the pool but most of all, the wifi worked! The kitchen, while small, is extremely well equipped and has everything you need and more. The view from the backyard is great and the neighborhood, at least during our stay, was very quiet and peaceful.

Great area to walk around. The hike to the beach was fun, even with complaining children. Great location, you are minutes away from Hanalei and lots of fun activities at the Princeville Ranch. You can't go wrong here, the house has everything you need to have a great vacation. We had a wonderful stay.

Comfortable vacation home surrounded by beauty

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the property the first 2 weeks of January 2018 and were very comfortable there. This isn't a fancy up to date home, but it has everything you need, it's clean, and it's very relaxing. We enjoyed the hot tub at least once daily. We used the pool a couple of times but it was really cold as it's not a heated pool. It is probably perfect in the summer months. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of utensils, pots, pans, etc., and we cooked most of our meals there. The stove and refrigerator are like new. The Weber Genesis grill is outstanding and we enjoyed it several times as well. There are 2 orange trees on the property and we had freshly squeezed orange juice several days. Soaking up the sun with the gentle trade winds blowing against you at the pool area is so amazing, and you can hear the ocean crashing against the rocky shore below at anytime. It is quite a hike to get to the Sealodge beach situated beyond the property, but it's a pristine spot with few visitors. Be sure to bring water so you can stay there awhile. We were lucky to witness many albatross mating rituals and one albatross nesting next to the property.

The property manager was responded quickly to any questions or concerns. My only complaint was that the mattress was really hard and has permanent "ruts" where people sleep. But apparently many previous guests had found it to be comfortable.

I would love to stay here again - next week would be great!

Lovely pool, nice home, great location

  • 4 of 5

Very nice house, 3B, 2b. Quite 1970s in look and feel, but a great location and fantastic pool, which meant a lot when our week was so rainy. Easy to get to Princeville Center, Kileaua, Anini Beach, St. Regis Hotel, and Hanalei. View of the ocean is minimal, and it really isn't visible from the house, but only the pool area. Kitchen is small, but works for a small group. Having to leave the key in the keybox each time is a bit annoying, though, and there are a few maintenance tasks that should be taken care of to improve the experience. But if you want a pool (really hard to find!) and a great location, this is a wonderful place to stay.

Owner's Response: Aloha Julia, It was a pleasure to have you stay and had you let us know we would have been happy to fix any maintenance issues you had during your stay - including an extra key for you to use, which should have been there for you once in the home. We are in the process of installing all new quality bedding, linens and towels - with new furniture on the way - and Im sorry it hadnt arrived in time for your stay. Ocean Pool House really is a special spot, with lots of Hawaiian Aloha. The home has a nice private feel, uncrowded by other properties, yet so central to many island activities, sightseeing and dining and shopping favorites - not to mention all the beautiful beaches on the amazing north shore! The sightseeing from the home itself, with sunsets over the ocean, whilst by the beautiful poolside, watching seabirds and listening to the ocean is definitely a bonus - and then there's the hot tub, juicy oranges when in season - and the amazing courtship and nesting rituals of the albatross in the winter months! ..This is very up close, right by the house in the tiny cul-de-sac and really is a priviledge to witness such a large part of their lifecycle - the nesting and then chicks becoming so big and fluffly, awkwardly outgrowning the nests - and the adults taking flight, soaring in and out from the bluff. Its all very special! Kauai is a magical place and Ocean Pool House is defintely a special slice of Paradise! Mahalo for choosingto stay at Ocean Pool House and taking the time for your review. With much Aloha, Samantha
