The Hideaway has all the comforts of home in this secluded two story true log cabin with porches on both levels, lower 27'x42' deck, 2 fire pits, high speed Internet access, widescreen flat panel LCD/ HDTVs in the Game Room & main level family room, TV in queen bedroom, Premium HDTV Cable package, movies, 7' pool table, air hockey, X-Box 360 Elite HD with 12 games, gym membership & even a treadmill. The downstairs Game Room, bedroom with KING size bed and master bath gives the young adults the privacy to play the night away, listen to music, watch TV or relax in the hot tub while listening to the sounds of nature & the nearby stream. Enjoy frequent sightings of deer & wild turkey while relaxing on the porch swings, or hiking the nearby Benton MacKay Trail. The property is located on 2.5+ acres.

Antler Ridge Hideaway Cabin: The cabin is a true log cabin, located near the top of Laurel Ridge Mountain (3,000 elevation) in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The views you see in photos are indeed the view from both porches and decks, hot tub and all interior rooms except the twin bed bedroom. The upper level of the cabin has the deck with seating areas, screened porch with swing and rockers, living and dining area, fireplace, wide screened TV, kitchen, bedroom #1 with two twin beds, full bathroom and bedroom #2 with queen bed & TV.

The lower level of the cabin has the game area with pool and air hockey table, treadmill, laundry room with washer/dryer, another family sitting area with queen sleeper sofa with box spring mattress (sleeping area #3), gas log fire place, wide screen TV, X-Box 360 Elite HD with games and controllers, master bedroom #4 with king sized bed and master bathroom. Off the Game Room area is the lower level porch and the huge 27’ by 42’ deck with seating/rockers/swings, hot tub and a picnic table with umbrella.

The cabin is on 2.5 + acres, secluded and has mountain views of Rich Mountain and uninhabited national forest lands. It is not in a gated community, nor do you have close neighbors (YOU DO NOT SEE OTHER CABINS FROM OUR CABIN). There is no cabin to our left. The cabin to our right is several acres away and over a hill. You have over 50 acres of “no neighbors”. You do not see the road from our cabin, yet you do not feel totally isolated. Unlike may cabins near the top of a mountain, the Hideaway has plenty of level land for children, pets and family to walk around, run and play with no sudden drop offs.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had an amazing time visiting Georgia and staying at your cabin. All of our friends and co-workers will hear about the fun we had. The extra attention given to details and the cleanliness of the cabins( rented both of our cabins) made it feel like a cozy home. We enjoyed the barbecue and smoker! Thanks for having the extra odds & ends already supplied. There were elk and deer who came to visit every morning. We enjoyed lounging in the hot tub. We went horseback riding, rafting and the people in town were nice and friendly. We loved sitting around the campfire, the early morning sunrises and beautiful sunsets!

Antler Ridge Hideaway is a MUST STAY!

  • 5 of 5

The house was everything the ad says it is and more. The view of the mountains is breathtaking. The house is secluded on the side of the mountain which makes for a romantic getaway. Very clean and included nice amenities such as a Hot Tub!, flat screen HDTV, gas grill, pool table, which we all used!

The cabin is very close to a lot of good hiking and waterfalls. This is a great place for a romantic peaceful weekend or for the adventure seeker.

Fabulous Cabin in excellent location

  • 5 of 5

This cabin sits on the east side of the mountain away from any main roads overlooking a very secluded and pristine valley. You feel very private here as you cannot see any other cabins during summer and fall. The views from the decks are of sunrise and magnificent. The cabin itself is wonderful, in great shape, plenty of space and smartly furnished. Located just south of Blue Ridge you can easily access the town, Elijah and hiking/biking in the mountains. You can walk to the BMT! Sandy makes it very easy for you and ensures you have everything you need. Great owners. Highly recommend this spot!

Overall a nice stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely, relaxing trip. The layout worked for us with our little one (she loved all the bear décor in the twin room). The upstairs is a bit rustic compared to the clean, bright new downstairs. Best part was waking up to the beautiful view in the morning from the upstairs bedroom. We only slept in the queen bed upstairs and I found it quite comfy (kiddo was in pacnplay). I could easily see a larger family sleeping here but doubt the kitchen and living room could really sit everyone at once comfortably. Wi-fi , water pressure and the fact that we could watch our football game on Sunday was great! We enjoyed having our dog with us and it made for a great family weekend away.

A few things that resonated with us after we left.

- I know it’s the mountains but there were just so many large barn spiders hanging out everywhere around the cabin. I don't think we have ever seen so many in one place (and my husband grew up on farm in the woods).

-As others noted, the road to the cabin is a bit dodgy and has many blind spots (we had an awd suv). I just mostly found it annoying so we didn’t go out as much as we planned. Maybe some blind spot mirrors should be petitioned.

-We bought a new grill brush since theirs was balded. The microwave was a bit rusted inside. I would also suggest getting a step trash can for the kitchen.

Also, the pictures online are out of date and they have changed a few things. Extra stairs added to the upper deck and a lot more tree growth near that part of the porch.

Owner's Response: We are always thrilled when guests have an enjoyable and relaxing time at Antler Ridge Hideaway. With cabins near the top of a mountain, roads can be winding, but are well maintained. While we have rustic decor throughout the cabin, furniture is new on both levels.

Wonderful family vacation!!!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this property. It felt like we were the only people on the mountain, yet we were less than ten minutes from the sweet little town of Blue Ridge.Outside: Loved the hot tub and all the swings/rockers on both porches and the view was amazing. My husband, son,and our dogs really enjoyed being able to take the short walk down to the creek and having hiking trails adjacent to the property.Having the fire pit was great -we made smores. It rained a couple times during our stay and watching the storms from the screened in porch was very relaxing. Inside:The cabin was clean and well kept with nice furnishings, but it didn't feel so pristine that I was worried about the kids or dogs messing things up-it was very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out.The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware. We didn't stay in much as most of our time at the cabin was spent on the porches, but the cable and Xbox were nice to have as an activity as was the pool table and board games. As pretty much every review has stated, and Sandy made us well aware of beforehand, the stairs are steep. My daughter has mobility issues, and we just had her scoot up and down them on her bottom. We used the outdoor steps for our older dog.The stairs ARE NOT a reason to skip out on this fabulous property.Owners: Sandy was awesome.Very detailed information before and during our stay. Couldn't have asked for more. She was informative and present without being intrusive in the least. Activities: Blue Ridge is a cute little town! We enjoyed the shops and a dinner at Harvest on Main. Kids liked the little playground by the courthouse and we could see the train from there. My daughter is disabled and can't really do strenuous hiking, but we still wanted to get her out into nature. We drove an hour from Blue Ridge to hike the Anna Ruby falls trail bc it's paved and wheelchair accessible - SO WORTH THE DRIVE!The entire hike was gorgeous and the actual falls were breathtaking. Since we'd made the drive, we spent the rest of that day in the nearby town of Helen.Very cute Bavarian/German styled town. We enjoyed the shops. We also did the mini golf and gem mining that's right near Antler Ridge on 76. It was cute and the kids had a great time there. We're from Cincinnati, and love our vacations to be "away from it all " but still have nearby activities.I was nervous trying out a new vacation spot, but Blue Ridge (and Antler Ridge) is officially a family favorite and we will be back!

the property views and condition were breathtaking

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolute wonderful time. The owner was over the top accommodating with travel directions, directions for all of the wonderful amenities, a list of top restaurants and a full list of fun activities to enjoy the wonderful Blue Ridge mountains. The community of Blue Ridge was so hospitable and nice. Downtown left little to be desired for shopping, dining and of course the fudge and ice cream

Relaxing time!

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed my stay here, I had a nice relaxing week. Great view off the back porch. It rained for about a day while I was there, watching the clouds roll in and out of the mountains was spectacular.
