Stylishly furnished, contemporary London mews house, close to everything...

London is a very big city so this house, less than a minute off the everything-you-could-want Clapham High Street and two minutes to the underground station, is about as well connected to everything in London as you can get.

The house itself is set around a courtyard in a private development within a small converted Victorian school building and is very spacious, a bit loft style, with 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. A very chic contemporary mews house with excellent wifi and a very comfy feel.

The downstairs is an open planned living/kitchen area with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine in the open planned kitchen. A large living and dining space with amble seating for both dinning and relaxing which then opens onto a private garden area. Upstairs are 2 double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room plus balcony and the main bathroom with bath and shower. This home is beautifully and stylishly furnished & decorated with wooden floors downstairs and carpet upstairs, it is ideal for anything from a few nights to longer term. Smart TV and cable make nights in a dream and the kitchen is able to deliver anything from a snack to a three course meal with the array of supermarkets and speciality shops on hand. Towels and bed linen are provided with a weekly maid service if required.

Clapham is one of London's villages encapsulating everything you need, from supermarkets, cinema, gym, bars and restaurants on the door step of the house plus the wide open spaces of the common. Only two minutes or so walk to the Northern line at Clapham North and then less then ten minutes to the West End or City. Buckingham Palace is few tube stops as is Harrods, Leicester Square and Covent Garden are straight up the Northern line, it's just too easy!

Perfectly placed, you will find it very difficult to find a property set so close to everything from transport links to shops, cinemas, a gym, a large park, children's play grounds and paddling pools on the common, covering pretty much all your local requirements. In a beautiful and unique setting, very private and secure, you'll never want for anywhere else to stay in London.

About Marc Field

Lived all over the world but have always had a home in London since Uni and now I'm settled in Australia I've more time to come back to the UK regularly. Preferring to stay in my own place then a hotel I've changed from long terms tenants to holiday lets.

The house is fully furnished with I everything I may need when I staying in London on either business or pleasure. Love to cook, love a quiet night in but I'm a keen gym goer and need somewhere with places I can run, swim and work out close by. Anything you need to know please let me know.

Why Marc Field chose England

As you'll see when you stay there, it's fantastically located, to be honest if you look at maps of places available to transport hubs I'm one of the best located there is. Two minutes to the Northern line which is then 10-15 minutes either to the City or the West End. Easy for Twickenham or the Oval and easier for the trendy nightlife of Clapham and south London.

What makes this house unique

Well located but off the street in a small private courtyard development. The house and courtyard setting has a very European feel to it, very safe, very secure and very private. I've started to move some of my aboriginal paintings to the house to remind me of Australia whilst I'm here and I love the warmth they give the place as well as complimenting some of the 17/18th century architectural prints I also collect. I think the house has a great feel to it, it feels like a home...

Perfect for us!

This was our first time renting someone's house rather than staying in hotels and we loved it. When my company sent me to London for a week on business and we decided to make a family trip out of it as well we thought a home stay would be a good idea having two small children This house turned out to be fantastic for us.

Firstly the house itself is really secure, set in a private space off the road and very very quiet. Supermarkets are literally a minute away so we found getting some supplies in for our two young children really easy and as anyone knows when you travel with young children easy is a luxury!

The house was very clean and really well set up, plenty of room for us all and the two bathrooms were fantastic especially having a bath in one of them for the kids. Everything seems to have been thought of from comfy sofa's and cable TV (a god send for jet lagged kids) to all the kitchen items we needed to sort out meals etc.

Really easy to get around London from here both for myself getting to the office in Canary Wharf and for the family to get some sight seeing and exploring in.

This is a really great house and the location is fantastic and would recommend it to anyone travelling with young children.

Comfortable, secure and convenient

My sister and I stayed at this property while we were visiting London. The property was clean and comfortable with lovely white linen on the beds and generous bath towels. There were only two of us so we each had our own room and bathroom.

The kitchen was well laid out and we could have if we had wanted to prepared meals, but we only made breakfast and some light snacks, choosing to dine out in the evenings. There is a great Italian Restaurant Eco just up the road.

The staircase is very squeaky, but unless you were hoping to make a silent entrance it is a minor problem. We chose to leave our heavy bags downstairs as they were too large and bulky for us to man-handle up the staircase, choosing to only took up our overnight bags to our rooms.

One criticism is that whoever was there before us had obviously been doing craft with glitter and the traces of glitter were evident on the lounges and dining chairs.

We thought that the lighting was too “atmospheric” in the dining area. We would have liked to have had a lamp or stronger bulbs in the downlights, it was too dim to read a map in the evening.

A step by step guide on how to work the expansive television set would have been handy, although as we had not travelled to London to watch television this was only mildly annoying.

We felt very safe and secure because you need a key to gain entrance to the common courtyard and the front door has a security chain.

Clapham North Tube Station is a short walk away and there is a supermarket close by making this an ideal property for travellers. We travelled down to London on New Year's Eve and were able to travel back on the Tube in the early hours without any problems.

The glitter I'm presuming was left over from Christmas and as we've all experienced it takes a while to eradicate completely but I'll tell Karen and see if we can chase any that's still left over. I've had the stairs looked at and the only way I can fix them is take up the carpet, I'm currently sorting out to be re-carpeted so depending on availability around rentals I'm having them sorted then. Lighting, I rather happen to like the atmospheric lighting and as it's also my home I'm afraid my taste somewhat rules ;-). However I'm now already looking for some side tables for next to the sofa's and I'll get a couple of lamps for them. The TV lol I struggled with the bloody thing for days when I got it then I realised you just watch everything through the cable channel - terrestrial and Sky. I'll add some notes to the arrival documents it's simple once you know... Very best, Marc

Perfect location for a holiday in London

The apartment was spacious, warm and comfortable and equipped with everything you need.

We were four adults and we never felt squeezed in.

It was perfectly located for public transport with tube, overground and bus services within a couple of minutes walk.

We found the 88 (24 hour service) bus a great way to get into central London. Once again shops pubs and restaurants were just around the corner, yet the location was very quiet and private.

Comfortable, spacious in a great location

Couldn't have wished for better - spacious and modern. Easy access to public transport, shops, restaurant and the common. Well equipped. A bit of noise from the high street on Saturday night, but not a problem. Great linen and comfy bed. A little wear here and there but that is to be expected with a short term rental property. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Great property

This unit is just as advertised, clean, well maintained & perfectly located to be a home base while visiting London. My family of four (including 2 teenage boys) stayed here while visiting London for a couple of days and loved the place. Having two underground stations within a few minute walk, made it very easy to commute each day into London to sight see. If back in London again, we would definitely rent this unit again. Marc and his London property manager Karen were both very easy to work with and accommodating. We would recommend this unit to family and friends.
