About this property

Little Resort on Big Lake

Winter Special! (Jan-March)Rent for 3 or more nights and get 1 night free!

Little Resort is 1.5 hours from the Twin Cities. The perfect jaunt for a week or a weekend away. This log home can house up to 11 guests. If you are needing more space, neighboring properties will likely be available to accommodate larger groups for the feel of a resort community all to yourselves. This unique location truly provides something for everyone to enjoy any time of the year. It is quiet, peaceful, and very safe. When you get here, you will likely not want to leave, but if you do feel like branching out, there is so much to do in the area. You can enjoy miles of walking and bike paths. Breweries, fun bars, wineries, great coffee and dining, massage, golf, mini golf, hiking, skiing, bowling, alipine slides, go carts, a casino, movies, amazing ice cream at the local dairy and much more, all within 20-40 minutes of the cabin. Comfort, relaxation and fun is our goal for our indoor and outdoor spaces and we guarantee our little resort will meet or exceed your expectations.

The cabin itself is a beautiful year round log home on a tranquil 500 acre lake surrounded by woods and wildlife that will instantly provide the relaxing sensation of a deep breath. It is situated on a quiet peninsula that looks out on a beautiful sun lit bay. The yard is very spacious and level with a gentle slope to the lake. No stairs to get to the water! We have a dock that is ready for you to tie up to, and 2 public launches within 2 miles.

In the summertime, our lake is great for swimming, fishing, and boating and is sure to produce an abundance of sunshine-fed smiles and laughter. Use the grill to cook up some steaks, make smores at our lakeside firepit, or just grab a drink and relax on the dock as the loons sing the sun down. The incredible sunsets get even better when you are bathed in the beautiful light while cruising the lake in a comfy pontoon. We are happy to help you coordinate drop-off and pick-up of a rental pontoon directly to and from the lake. Trust me when I tell you that boating does not get any easier than this! If you prefer more relaxed water activities we have a canoe, 2 kayaks, life vests, and water toys, for our guests to get out, enjoy the water, and experience the beautiful scenery and wildlife that our lake has to offer. We also provide lawn chairs, badminton, and bean bags to help you take advantage of the large flat yard surrounding the cabin. Did I mention the fishing is great right off the dock? It is! We never fail to get a pan dirty at the cabin :)

The late fall offers gorgeous hikes and cozy nights. The colors are unreal! For hunters there is thousands of acres of public hunting land available within 15-30 mn of the cabin with plenty of Deer, Grouse, pheasant and Wild turkey around. If you don't want to work so hard for the birds there is a terrific game farm with all the amenities including 5 stand trap in a heated trailer that goes all winter long.

The winter time offers an incredible cozy and relaxing environment with a lot of great ways to get outside and enjoy. Cross country ski, ice fish, Hunt, play boot hockey, take our sleds for a ride, or snow mobile on some of the near by local trails. Down hill skiing and tubbing can be found just 40 minutes from the cabin at Wild Mountain. After you are done with Jack Frost, warm up next to a roaring fire with a warm drink, bake some cookies, play some board games and enjoy family and friends with old fashioned fun that only a log cabin in the country can provide.

The comfortable and well appointed interior of this cabin and the stunning beauty of this place will have you wishing you'd booked longer. Thanks for considering us. We hope to see you soon. Please let me know if you have any questions at all.

-John

P.S.

If you have to work a bit on your vacation we have high speed fiber to the cabin and a table you can set up for a make-shift office with a great view.

Best Cabin
We were very impressed with this very clean cabin. It's a great layout over looking the lake, with plenty of room to sit around the fireplace, watch TV and dine. Kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed. Sleeping quarters worked out great for us. The host was great to work with, very responsive to any questions we had. I would highly recommend this cabin and plan on staying there next year.

Much needed get away
The Little Resort on Big Lake is exactly like the pictures show. Well maintained, clean and fully stocked. I reunited with family members and this was the perfect place to do so. Total peace and quiet. The only downside was the septic system. Signs up in bathrooms and kitchen about conserving water so the septic system doesn't fill up. I agree with conserving water, but it felt a bit overboard. Unfortunately, the septic alarm did go off on our 3rd or 4th day there, even though we were very conservative with our water usage and toilet flushing. I followed the instructions on what to do if that happens and John(the owner) promptly answered my phone call reassuring me that it happens. It didn't hinder our stay at all. If If you are looking for a beautiful place to unplug and relax, this is the place to do just that!
