Personal retreat
I needed a place to stay for a personal retreat after a difficult year. I spent a month here and it served my purpose well. Beautiful location. Long walks on a mostly empty beach. Excellent fresh produce and bread and more at the Eleuthera Island Farm, just 10 minutes away. While I didn't intend to watch TV, the bungalow has Netflix and other such platforms that you can use if you're already a subscriber, which was nice to have at times. I had to do a bit of work so was not prepared for the electricity outages during the first week of my stay and would have appreciated information about what to expect, such as where to go for coffee or wifi while it was out. Next time I'll look for a place with a generator. It would have been helpful to know that there are no staples in the bungalow or keeping some for the next guests. I'm used to shopping before I go to a new place and the place having at least salt, pepper, sugar, condiments, maybe oil--and sometimes much more. So I shopped at the end of a long day of travel, only to discover there were no staples. As with many island places, there is a bit of a mold odor that goes away when you open the windows and have fans on but it could be a problem for people who have strong reactions to mold. Would I stay there again? Yes. It was a cozy retreat with good privacy and a beautiful view, including from the platform overlooking the beach across the sandy road in the front of the house.
