Photos and Description of this Capital Region holiday cottage

3 bedrooms with stunning Mountain and Sea View - New Cottage

This new wonderful luxury Cottage is located in Hvalfjordur (Whale Bay), the most beautiful bay in Iceland. It is one of the most pristine bays with beautiful mountain surrounds, with cliffs that drop directly into the bay and some beaches. Only 30 min. drive to Reykjavik so you can enjoy the city live and the icelandic nature at the same time.

The cottage itself boasts two stories. On the first floor are two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, living room and bathroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has a queen size bed. The Patio has an unspoiled view overlooking the bay, and to the mountains. The third bedroom is located on the second floor and has two big single beds. Also on the second floor is the TV room with lots of DVD´s and TV episodes. There is also a balcony on the second floor with a breathtaking view overlooking the Sea and the Mountains. Nice patio is outside with garden furnitures.

The bay Hvalfjordur has a lot to see and explore. The waterfall Glymur is the highest waterfall in Iceland and is located at the bottom of the bay. Explore historical places and ruins from WW2 or take a leisurely hike along one of the many hiking trails in this breathtaking area.

Excellent sightseeing in the vicinity can easily be done with day trips to the following:

- Reykjavík

- Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir, Þingvellir National Park, Skálholt.

- Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, Skógar Waterfall, Eyjafjallajökull Volcano and Glacier, Vik.

- Skaftafell National Park, Jökulsárslón Glacier Lagoon.

- Westmann Islands (Vestmannaeyjar)

- Mt. Hekla

- Blue Lagoon and much more.

Nice and cosy cottage with great views

  • 5 of 5

Description of this cottage is accurate.

We found the property in a very good shape and Jakob was very fast in responding to any questions.

The cottage is in a quiet area with superb panoramic views over a fjord. A lot of nature attractions are reachable during one day trips (car is needed).

Highly recommended.

Gorgeous house in a wonderful spot

  • 5 of 5

Thank-you for a lovely stay in this truly fabulous house.

We have stayed in lots of great houses with owners direct but think this tops the list!!!!!!

Views were stunning and position wonderful perched on top of cliffs.

Every possible home comfort we could need.

We were sad to leave and want to be back there already.

Perfect place for a relaxing holiday in Icleand

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed a perfect week in Stampar25.

Stampar25 is located at a wonderful site near to the fjord.

We enjoyed the silence and the sea and even saw a seal having fish for breakfast.

It is also so comfortable and cosy, inside as well as outside.

If we ever come back to Iceland we will try to go to Stampar25 again.

Thanks to Jakob and Elsa,

Doris and Bernd from Munich

A special and unique cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage. The location was amazing, with beautiful views over the fjord. We also saw the Northern Lights from the cottage on two occasions, which was really special.

The cottage was lovely and warm and always a pleasure to return to at the end of the day. It is very clean, well furnished, with exceptionally comfortable beds and many special touches.

Jakob's instructions and links to websites were all very helpful and the cottage is a great base for visiting many places in west and southwest Iceland.

We certainly recommend this cottage and will hopefully be returning another time!

A great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our 10 days at Stampar. The view over Hvalfjord is absolutely breathtaking. The cottage was clean, well-appointed and situated in a perfect location for accessing many attractions in the West and South of Iceland. It had everything we needed. Thanks to Jakob and Elsa for their hospitality.

Magical

  • 5 of 5

As we drove up to the cottage we were all overcome by the beauty of the landscape and the lovely image of the wooden house embedded into it.

Jakob greeted us and he was super friendly. He showed us around the house and then left us to settle in.

The view from the windows is just so mesmerising - we couldn't take the smiles off our faces!

We stayed there for 3 nights and witnessed the Solar Eclipse on Friday 20th March. We couldn't have wished for a more beautiful location to do that from. The only noise we could ever hear was the whistling and howling of the wind which, when in a warm and cosy cottage with wonderful friends and stunning views, is an enchanting and gorgeous noise.

I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends.

The only tiny, tiny critique would be that the information pack isn't all that thorough, so we found some handy bits and bobs (hair dryer, information about hot water, cleaning bits) as we went through our stay rather than right at the beginning. But that really is a niggly criticism and of course didn't take anything away from our stay.

Jakob was super communicative and helped us plan our days with tips of local sights and things to do.

Totally magical holiday. Thank you, Jakob and Elsa. x
